This brings back memories to when I was a kid and I lived on the army post fort belvior which is just a few minutes north of Franconia-Springfield Station
I was surprised to find out that the Springfield Mall is a considerable distance from the station. Now, it's walkable during clement weather. Yet, I didn't have that advantage when I went up there in December. I had to drop my vehicle off at the station due to time constraints and inclement weather ( $5.00 for parking ). Next time I might consider dropping off my vehicle at the mall when I can travel at more relaxed pace.
Probably before the built the Potomac Yards station that’s south of Reagan National and possibly where the might build the replacement for Capital One Arena, if DC doesn't fund $600 million to renovate their current facility. Also heard next to Amazon’s HQ2 Facility in Crystal City.
The other issue is if driving between the Mall and the station, beware of Google Maps. It's directions are horribly inaccurate. Google Maps will take the driver from the Mall and into a residential area across the tracks!
0:53 😂😂 "This is a 7000-series (bing)" Wondering why you were hearing that announcement everytime the doors would open? It was because at that time the 7k cars were getting new chain barriers and that was to help aid the blind or deaf people. Now it has been removed.

That's good! Hopefully the mall doesn't patrol the lot too often. I can't imagine you'd get away with more than a night of it at a time
@@NTxRE in fact, I had only wanted to leave the car there for a few hours. They likely might not have towed it
Oh, certainly not!

It’s weird that the last 2 stops look like they’re in the middle of nowhere
Especially in the DC area!

What a rude operator, it not letting the train finish its sentence
Hah! Indeed 🤣
