Most of the wastelands most dangerous creatures are experiments that escaped post war(a few escaped pre war). The image of Vault Tec attempting to use amphibians to impregnate humans to make a human-amphibian mutant is something that fits along most vaults. But tbh, vault 4s experiment was pretty tame😂

The current timeline is 2296 . The bombs fell in 2077 and it is 219 years later.

According to all the Fallout games, the big nuclear bombs we saw in Ep1 dropped on Oct 23, 2077.
The timeline will make more sense when you reach the last episode but there will still be questions.
The show is cleared for a Season 2 so there will obviously be unanswered questions and new plots to hook into the second season.
Yes there are Cryotubes in Fallout.
That's the start of Fallout 4, where you are put into a Cryopod and wake up 200 years later.

*Edit:* Also, at 10:32, that was the Fallout game theme playing. And I think the year is early in to the 2080’s, the first episode said 216 or so years after the Great War

Just imagine living in a world where radiation can give you extra useful arms, maybe even two Ds, OR it makes you a basically immortal with insane healing but you just end up with a nose on your forehead ROFL LOL

Ghouls don’t really have healing factor…. They can “feed” off of radiation but they very deliberately show us that ghouls keep damage done. That’s how you know next episodes thing is a red herring, FEV heals, RADS don’t.
