Very interesting. Never thought to let the ink dry before dunking it in water.

I've heard different opinions about if it makes a difference and which is better, so I thought I'd find out:)

I do chromotagraphy for all my inks cuz I’m a nerd and it makes me happy to see all the colors :P I use the chromatography strips to do mine and I keep the results with my ink swatches. I’m the crazy person who swatches on multiple papers and keeps them in trading card page protectors :P

That's awesome! Do you find chromatography helpful in any way, or is it just fun to see and document the ink? :)

I came across chromatography by happy accident when I rested a cotton bud I’d used to swatch on a paper towel to dry. I loved the ‘starburst’ effect I got and glued it next to the swatch. I now do it with each of my inks. I prefer the paper towel method you demonstrated because I can see the individual colours better. Thank you for a great video.

Thank you! I think that's so cool! So you were using another cotton material to do chromatography and now use paper towels instead?

@@fountainPENdulum No, I was using what we call a cotton bud here in the UK, I think you might call them a Q-tip, and I was resting it on the paper towel to dry when I noticed the amazing chromatography, it was so pretty.

There it is! Haha, thanks, I thought a cotton bud was similar to the chromatography butterfly sheets or something! Okay, awesome!
