This review (like all your others) was fantastic! Watched it before staying at Candy cane inn this week, a friend booked it and I was curious what I was getting myself into! The walk was SO easy and close we never even took the trolley. Having just stayed I can confirm that breakfast is 6:30-9:30am and if you stay on a fire works night you can hear them from the room but it’s not terribly loud. 100% would recommend to anyone going to Disney!
For sure! I should have put that in the video. I usually stop over there to get a Slurpee! I had one at Disneyland that day for the Disney100 treats so I didn’t make the stop this visit.
Thanks for a great review and video! How about noise during sleep time? Some of the hotels near Disneyland seem to have thin walls and you can hear noise from both the street and people outside etc… And the air condition was working fine? Maybe you didn’t use it as it was January but we’re going in August and then it will be a big factor. 😊
We didn’t use the A/C, but did use the heater and the HVAC system was brand new and in excellent working condition. We didn’t notice any noise during our stay, and haven’t on any previous visit either. There’s really nothing I can say bad about this hotel. We’ve stayed in at least a dozen in the area and this one is our top favorite.
No noise! Well, during fireworks, yes!, but most people are in the parks to watch. No street noise and you cannot hear the park noise. In the morning we could hear excited kids running up and down the long balcony on the second floor (we were downstairs) but we never heard anything from the rooms beside or above. Calm. Quiet. Secure.
I like the HoJo, but it’s not got free parking or breakfast. The Best Western Park Place Inn has free breakfast, but the hotel room quality is a lesser standard. But it also has the perk of being the closest hotel to Disneyland and that in and of itself is a nice quality.
Coming soon for an conference but spending my evenings at the parks. Do you feel that the area is safe for a female walking back alone at night when the park closes?
I would say so. But they also have a free shuttle that runs until after park closing if you’re concerned. There are homeless around no matter what, but I’ve never seen them bother anyone in the years I’ve been staying at hotels in the area. Otherwise, you’ll almost always encounter other guests leaving, so the sidewalks are rarely completely empty.

Hey Traver, We stayed at the Candy Cane at the end of March 2024 and it was fantastic! We had a premium room and had breakfast brought to us every morning at 6 AM so we could get to Disneyland bright and early. The in-room breakfast was a real plus for us! @@SoCalDisneyDad Wow. Thanks for quick reply. Yeah. Price seems really high for 2 star hotel. I checked rates for January 2024. It is $315 (tax and fee included) for 1 day in standard room.
@@SBrhvuju It’s newly remodeled so it feels like a brand new hotel. Free parking, free shuttle, free breakfast. You could look into the Anaheim Majestic. It’s cheaper. I have a video for that too. The last time I visited Disneyland, I was driving and had my own vehicle. What would be the most effective way to get to the hotel from LAX, John Wayne, or wherever? Uber? Is it worth renting a car just to get to/from the airport if you’re not really planning on using it for anything else?
There’s a variety of shuttle services you could look into (I don’t know their names, you’d have to Google). But I imagine Uber would be just fine and is probably what most people use these days.
Thanks for another great video. I’m back tracking and rewatching cause my I’m seeing where else we can stay for our next trip. I see the room didn’t look at spacious as the room we had at Best Western mini suites. It didn’t look like my moms ECV would fit in that room, but does it have space outside where she would be able to park it? Also for the bus, does it have a lift for the EVC? I know she can obviously just drive it down the street, but if me and my son need the ride at the end of the night I would prefer us all to ride the bus together if possible.
I don’t recall the Candy Cane trolley being ECV or wheelchair friendly, so I would probably call them to confirm. But it is a short distance from Disneyland so it shouldn’t be too hard just walking and probably faster than waiting for the shuttle.
Thanks we just watched your review. We really liked it and we watched many of your other videos too. Do you know if the pool is heated and if Candy Cane Inn offers free pool towels or if we have to bring our own towels? Thanks for making all your super helpful videos on Disneyland.
Thanks for the awesome videos. I have this booked for our next stay...but there are 5 of us...they say it eill be a foldaway in the dekuxe room (same as yours). Do you think there is enough room?
Do you mean at the park? It’s right where all the other buses drop off. If you’ve never gone out the Harbor Blvd gates, it’s basically right on the other side of the Esplanade ticket booths. There’s a security tent there and just beyond that is where all the buses drop off.
Glad to hear it. Hope you have a great trip! If I can answer any questions for you, I’m happy to help. Feel free to reach out on any video and I’ll see it.
Yes, it runs from the hotel to the park every top of the hour while the park is open. It picks up from the park at every quarter after, and has one final pick up at 12:45 AM
Yes, I don’t remember the exact hours it runs, but I feel like it’s 7:15 AM is the earliest from the hotel. And 12:45 AM is the latest from Disneyland back to hotel.
To my knowledge, there isn’t. But that’s okay! I hope you have such an awesome time. They are our absolute favorite hotel to stay at in the Disneyland area.
Nobody was in the laundry room last week. Very clean and bright. 4 washers/4 dryers. Space to fold. Locking door. $2.50 per machine. Washer takes 30 minutes, dryer takes 25-30 minutes BUT you get 80 minutes of dry time, so you can do two loads for that price. $1.50 for soap, etc. I put 2 loads in and took a shower. Switched to dryer, then went for breakfast. Perfect before checkout, then there is no laundry to do when you come home (and no stinky luggage). Take a large IKEA blue bag as a laundry hamper!
It’s probably a more popular time of year. When we went it was $199 for standard and like $229 for Premium. But they do raise their prices depending on the day/week. I don’t think there’s any advantage to waiting. It’s not like plane tickets which always seem to be in flux depending on when you book. I imagine these prices aren’t going to change.
Compare prices with other hotels, then factor in breakfast. 3 adults at IHOP is $80, and almost an hour of your time! Candy Cane has added a DIY waffle cart (2 makers) with all the fixings, and breakfast sandwiches with eggs/cheese/bacon/sausage, along with fruits, pastries, etc. And great coffee! You can grab to-go and eat as you walk, or sit and have a long leisurely meal.

Where is the pickup and drop off for the shuttle? I would walk but I have a 3 year old and probably bringing a stroller with us.
Do you mean at the park? It’s right where all the other buses drop off.
If you’ve never gone out the Harbor Blvd gates, it’s basically right on the other side of the Esplanade ticket booths. There’s a security tent there and just beyond that is where all the buses drop off.
Great video. We are looking at coming from Australia and this has been very helpful
Glad to hear it. Hope you have a great trip! If I can answer any questions for you, I’m happy to help. Feel free to reach out on any video and I’ll see it.
Helpful review! Do you know if the pool is heated for cooler days?
Yes, it is a heated pool!
Thanks for the review! Do you know the breakfast hours?
I don’t off the top of my head, but I “feel” like it’s either 6-9 or 6:30-9:30
Thanks for the review! Does the shuttle run at night?
Yes, it runs from the hotel to the park every top of the hour while the park is open. It picks up from the park at every quarter after, and has one final pick up at 12:45 AM
Does the shuttle run in the morning?
Yes, I don’t remember the exact hours it runs, but I feel like it’s 7:15 AM is the earliest from the hotel. And 12:45 AM is the latest from Disneyland back to hotel.
Oh noooo! Don't tell everyone, LOL! We love it at the Candy Cane Inn, and they are the ONLY place we will stay. Nice video with great info.
I know. We want to share, but at the same time- maybe we shouldn’t.
@@SoCalDisneyDad , LOL!
I just booked this hotel entirely because of this video. If there is anyway I can support and add your information to the reservation let me know!
To my knowledge, there isn’t. But that’s okay! I hope you have such an awesome time. They are our absolute favorite hotel to stay at in the Disneyland area.
@@SoCalDisneyDad so excited! Super affordable
Loved your review! We are travellers from the Philippines. Do they provide Laundry service? Where can we do our laundry for 1 week worth of clothes.
Yes, they have a guest laundry room available for your use.
@@SoCalDisneyDad Thanks!
How far in advance did you book it? I’m also planning a January trip but prices are ~$300 on the site!
I booked in July for September. Standard room 249 per night.
