Beautiful - quite few people know this German Christmas song. Thank you so much!
I like jazz
Vince Guaraldi is great. “Christmas Time is Here” especially.
I'd love a Spotify album of these recordings 🤔
Yeah me too!! Also please make more stuff like this!
💯 So good to hear Charles really play
This right here^
^^^^^^^
Or a Bandcamp, since Spotify is bad
If I could play piano like this I would never be quiet haha
I’ve been seeing ur channel in random people’s comment sections since 2017 and its getting scarier and scarier
Hello again volaire we meet once again
2:30 that melody was beautiful....
This is such a gorgeous arrangement and the playing is phenomenal. Great work referencing the Vince Guaraldi work while still playing your own stuff. Fantastic!
Never heard one of our most famous German Christmas songs this way. Awesome!!
You should definitely check out Vince Guaraldi's version of it from A Charlie Brown Christmas. Charles's version here is definitely taking inspiration from that version. Charles even quotes a few of Vince's improve lines too.
To be clear, I'm not trying to detract from this version, it's fantastic! It just sounds like you haven't heard Vince Guaraldi's version.
I feel honored that a children's Christmas Song from my country is played so .... playfully and vivid by you and you'd band.
Vielen Dank! Frohe Weihnachten 😘
I love Charles' style so much - are there pianists with more insane chops? Sure, but he plays so clean and honest, with so much care about the sound and the harmony. Absolutely lovely rendition of this song!
i love your usual content but i'd also love to see more of you just performing music!! you're so talented.
Don't sell this man's achievement short. What we hear is the result of many years of really hard work.
Spent all day running after Tannenbaum's today. What are the chances! Another beautiful recording Charles!
Look guys it's Charles Cornell!
Amazing trio! That drummer has such an immaculate touch.
Adding to the other voices... to vote for something where you build a series, say, where you'll look at 'The Great American Songbook' (from a musical period or a style)... and you go through a quick take/explanation of the theory/construction of the tune.. and then you perform an improvisation on the tune. Very much enjoy your theory explanations and your playing... Thanks so very much for your channel.
Listening for my 10th time now. Can’t get enough. This is FABULOUS! Delicious. Buttery, pleasant, like a hug, with a small body move that indicates one wants to dance.
I love how you snuck in that Guaraldi line right around 2:09! Perhaps one of the greatest lines ever played in Christmas jazz.
I'm loving you cutting loose on these christmas songs, I could listen to this for hours. Christmas album when??
Charles is the undisputed GOAAAAAT
O Tannenbaaum, O Tannenbaum,
Wie true sind deine Blätter.
Du grünst nicht nur zur Sommerzeit,
Nein auch im Winter, wenn es schneit.
Haha....so ist es
Frohes Fest 🎄
2:10 replay button for favorite part. quoting original while making it your own. 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
Yes!! Gimme more!!
This is amazing. Best Christmas songs ever written and you totally did them justice.
Dang you guys really jive and give each other plenty of space, I love it. Loved that bass solo.
This is a bloody masterpiece. Bravo, Charles & Band!
Inspiring.
bro that solo 😳🙏🙏🙏 GOATED
Hello, Vince @2:10 - LOL
THANK YOU for contextualizing the bass solo with harmony! My no. 1 gripe with bass solos. Great interpretation btw.
Something I think would be HILARIOUS but REALLY COOL AND INFORMATIONAL is if you come back and react to this someday and break down what you remember and what you played.
Let's gooooo
Merry Chyrsler
These are so cool, and so well timed! We got a Christmas sponsored by Charles everyone!
I love how you laid out your left hand for the first chorus of the solo section, silently building into the second chorus💪
Thank you thank you. Made my day. Vince would be proud.
These are so good
This is great! We would love to transcribe some of your stuff if you allow us to make a video with it!
If you told me this was on the Charlie Brown Christmas album, I'd believe you. This was wonderful.
Smooth as jazz!
I’m just doing the NYT crossword puzzle and this song is one of the cues. 😀
I'm adding this to my playlist, thank you.
Charles. Dude. This is the first Christmas song I listen to every year the day after Thanksgiving…you KILLED IT!! Thank you!!
love the drum solos!
An absolute treat!
Such a treat to watch and listen to. Incredible work you three!
Literal chills. This fills me with so much glee!
Now THIS is pod racing
WOW. Wish this would just keep going on forever
I was loading-in when this came out and am only now catching up to Christmas week on my Watch Later. That's an outstanding trio performance. Bravo!
Ha! I went to school with your band. Back when your bass player was a sax player. Your videos bring me back to a more carefree time in my life. Wishing you all the best.
Amazing! I have to agree with others that I would play this nonstop on Spotify
That bass player is killing it
this is killer
As a german I approve of this O Tannenbaum version
So glad to be one of the first people to watch this! Just amazing
As a German I must say, I am very impressed...
came out 2 secs ago and it's on my recommended page lol
Charles, I don’t know if you’ll read this but my family is digging your stuff during Christmas dinner. Thank you for this gift, all the best to you and yours!
Just want to point out the aptly used Glynn John's Recording technique used on the drumset. What a great way to get the full body and ambience of the drums B)
Great job guys!
beautiful jazz, charles.
no sheet music in sight. just vibes 😍
Awesome interpretation :D I was just now thinking about learning this song and then your video came out!

Reminding us of your extreme talent, I see. We're gonna need more of this kind of content from now on!! 😎
So many Guaraldi quotes in your solo
Love it
Thank you so much for these!
This just gives me good vibes thank you :)
There was a concert Charles had in November AND HE DIDN'T TELL ANY OF US ABOUT IT?!
awsome content!
Your solos sound amazing on that piano. Must be even better in real.
PLEASE put these on Bandcamp
Jazz
Greetings from Germany 👋🏻
need more live jam
Groovy, man, groovy! 😎
A little girl was telling my wife she met a talking Christmas tree. She said her name, which was Hana. My wife was surprised "Hana"? Yes, Hana Baum.
Recommended page already??
2 thumbs up bro👍👍
Congrats, man!
Vince would be proud
Duddeee! This is so sick, y’all are linked up man
If I was listening to Guaraldi's Christmas album and this version came up instead on the album, I would have no problem with that
More please
As many times as I was yelled at for looking at my hands while playing growing up it's strangely validating to see all of you looking down lol
Man you should do a video on some of Barry Harris' stuff!
I could listen to the Charles Cornell Trio all year long :)
About time the side men got a little air time. Swingin'
😍😍
Almost forgot I was listening to O Christmas Tree 😅
Very well played and nice video! If the title is intended to be part german, it's "Oh Tannenbaum" :)
I absolutely love the way this sounds. I don't have a lot of jazz knowledge though, so can someone give me some recommendations of where to go to listen to more jazz artists/albums that his this quality to it?
You'd probably love Vince Guaraldi who composed the Charlie Brown cartoons
Spotify when, Charlie
