They look good in the ngc slab with the label 👍. If people know of the pyx and are after one , a ngc verified is the best option I think . They look smart .

Hello Brother Numi, I've been doing so many other things for a while but I now need to get back into my coins and collecting again😊

Good step forward by the mint . But the could also add a code on the coin similar to a pattern coin

Interesting stuff indeed! Who are the consultants at the NGC? Surely these guys must be renowned subject matter experts in the industry are they? 🤔

More power to those that collect these. Personally I would not and do NOT understand the collecting of coins that are just average samples of coins struck by the RM with no INDIVIDUAL or DISTINGUISHING characteristics from any other such coin.
Also it is my understanding that many were not sold.
Trial coins - which these are decidedly NOT hold just a bit more appeal but not worth the cost IMHO.

Id love to collect the 50p trial of the pyx coins... but they are way over my budget 😔 😟

They are fascinating but I personally wouldn't pay a premium for a purposefully damaged proof. Graded or otherwise.

I don't really see the point in these... most collectors want perfect .. or near to .. not damaged coins regardless .. I really like the Royal Mint / NGC labels ... it's a shame the RM don't become an official NGC partner / agent ... and give the option to use their label ..

I don’t think the RM are going to go into the graded coin business at least I hope not

@@Numistacker I'm sure they won't .. but I think the label is one to have for a collection .. but the coin would have to be at a reasonable price... I have looked at these coins , and for me personally ..I'd rather have a PF70 than a damaged coin at a much higher price .. but I know some like the trial pieces ..
