- MERMAID SWIMMING UNDERWATER (Lake Michigan mermaid swims around a wooden pier) - This video shows underwater footage of Lake Michigan's freshwater mermaid, Mermaid Phantom. In this video, this silver mermaid can be seen swimming around wooden structures that look like log cabins. These are not underwater log cabins, unfortunately. These structures are old wooden piers (which are also pretty cool). The mermaid also swims through seaweed and algae in this video, so you get to see some of the stuff that grows underwater... that green puff of algae is especially strange! Hehehe! I remember being SO weirded out by it!
This video was filmed in 2018 and was remastered (and re-edited) in 2024, since my editing skills have improved since then and because I thought the video footage deserved to be revived. Please let me know how you like this video! :)

Been wondering if dad has an emergency air canister in case you get stuck
He does not. We don't really swim anywhere that could result in either of us getting stuck, since most lake foliage is easily broken, and we don't often swim around structures that could entangle us.
But it would be a good idea for safety for sure! :o
