Connor really embodies the fanatic paladin to a tee, accuse someone they don't like for a great evil to justify their righteous indignation, and excessive violence.
As for why Conner’s oath broke after killing the teiflings, TECHNICALLY they were innocents in the eyes of his oath, so TECHNICALLY he broke his oath, though to be fair him becoming a Oathbreaker really does fit for a Githyanki.
By the time it was over, the following happened: G'run'x broke his oath (for a good cause) A kid tattled on them Dragon spotting A freaky granny potion seller Breaking & entering going wrong. Or right? Animals saying the darnedest things Ogre friends Khis gets a "kiss" from Astarion All in all a great session & can't wait until the next one!
I love how Connor attacks and murders two people for no reason and then goes "WHY?!" when it turns out that murdering two people for no reason breaks his paladin oath XD
I would say having weapons drawn from people who where talking about killing a fellow person who help you in the ship when they are caged and cant defend themselves is evil. Paladin oaths are crap if you dont have a real dm to talk to about the action and really shouldnt be in the game. My oath to destroy evil may not be what other consider evil but I would still be upholding my oath.
@@jacobellis2313 True but if your playing a paladin you should try the non-violent approach first you can convince them to just leave and then later you find out other Githyanki had murdered fellow refugee's just like he did.
@@mythicalthings1796 They used to be. Good aligned that is, if they were evil then that was a different class. In this case though he broke his oath because he killed two innocent people for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. They didn't even set the trap.
Anything that brings sarah, arcolf, connor and bosco together is magical. I loved their chemistry in prince division and really hope for that continuation where bryant and co train to fight casmodius.
I honestly wish more paladin players actually put some thought into what their oaths mean to their characters and what it would take to make them break it. Most paladins I've seen either ignore their oaths entirely and then are surprised when they become an oathbreaker, or never put any thought into what their character does past "this is what my oath says to do".
tbf (maybe you know this already) the githyanki on faerun (you) are part of the military. and a group of them had attacked a tiefling refugee. that's why the two tieflings were scared and defensive. so less racism and more fear of alien invasion.
I get Connor’s confusion to breaking his oath for defending himself in a clearly hostile turning situation, but in fairness to the Tieflings who have probably only seen a handful of Gith ever, and it was all during that exact day, and they were all hostile, I understand them being much more quick to aggression when facing another Gith in comparison to let’s say a dwarf.
This is the second time I forgot to check the streaming channel to watch them play BG3. So glad they post the vod. My best guess is that they jumped straight into a fight without letting the Tieflings explain. "Another one" may have referred to one with psychic powers. With a Paladin, you have to be very careful how you progress. Vengance Paladin in particular is about righting the wrongs already committed. Man, you give the Paladin an Oathbreaker and they take a mile. I am so glad they didn't let that accidental missclick stick. I am all for resetting in that case. I gotta say. I have seen people get duped by the Enlightended Ogre. So to see them get his horn of summons is fantastic. If they don't expand the game, I'd be surprised. If I were them. In about about eight months to a year's time(or however long it takes them to make and polish the patch), I would release a patch that let you go to level 15, included stuff from Xanathar's Guide to Everything, and maybe let the team have another slot or two. Then, in another proper allotted time, add another patch for Tashas Cauldron and level 20. I fully expected Sara to 'let him continue'. She simps so much over Astarion.
I don't see them adding more content to the game outside of fixing/making adjustments to what's already there. The game is built for level 1-12 so adding more levels doesn't really change anything. (There's mods that increase the level cap to 20 if that's what you want though)
There's some kind of likely unintentional serendipity to the...loaded choice of title here and Connor or his character perceiving 'racism' because a group of minority refugees, actively on the run from the soldiers of a brutal invading empire from which he descends, mistook him for one of them and squared up to defend themselves.
Conner killing the Tieflings was *precisely* what broke his Oath. Yes, they were racists. But they were also panicked and thought he was with Lae'zel. They were on edge and paranoid. As far as the game can tell, Conner killed a bunch of Tieflings who were in a state of Panic when he could have just as easily talked them down. Don't get me wrong, it was absolutely hilarious. But damn this party is terrible at reading the room.
Also, to be fair to those tieflings, githyanki are literal aliens that are rarely seen by civilians in Toril (that aren't snatched up as slaves, anyway), and their probable first exposure to them has been of murderous sky invaders. It's less they were being racist and more panicked reaction, like you said. Saw someone compare it to jewish refugees taking out a lone Nazi soldier, then turning their guns on a stranger walking up in full Nazi gear.
I am more for oathbreakers to be pure true Evil. The oath is not a set of words or a mantra, it is a pledge, and the Paladins are pure embodiments of this pure good deed. An Oathbreaker should by all means be pure malevolence because that is what it takes to break the oath... otherwise they'd never gotten power from the oath, if it was a mere promise.
Connor! Lea'zel (in the eyes most of the good aligned deities) is MORE evil than the teiflings who were protecting their camp. Not that those teiflings were right in their actions. You just needed to kill lea'zel before the other two. . So... in my eyes, your right, fuckthe 'good' "gods" we make our own Justice!
Honestly I think people need a little bit more knowledge when it comes to Gith before they just go “oh that guys racist” Cause like Gith as a species do ride red dragons and burn villages to the ground with everyone who lives there inside if someone even sneezes and it vaguely sounds like “gheik” Like I get where they’re coming from but people in this world have reason to be afraid of the Gith, and as a paladin it’s kinda your job to show that not all Gith are like that, than it is the people to blindly trust a species known for mass murder
Agreed. In DnD lore, Githyanki are authoritarian, militant pirate slavers who view everyone else as inferior, and use Faerun as their own personal farm - need food and/or materials? They open a portal, invade the material plane, slaughter whoever they come across and take their stuff. Even those who have never met Githyanki would know of their reputation. In this case, the 2 scouts Connor killed for being "racist" literally had their friend murdered by Githyanki that same day. Of course they're going to draw their weapons and assume hostility. Most people would.
I believe the full saying is "Kill racists, break oath, become racist" as you really became racist to everyone other than Gith going forward e.g "A being like YOU know's of the Gith."
Bosco: "You broke your oath? What did you break?"
Conner: "Their spines."
Connor really embodies the fanatic paladin to a tee, accuse someone they don't like for a great evil to justify their righteous indignation, and excessive violence.
I love how the stream barely began and Connor is already on his villain arc
Since githyanki come from eggs, I think this canonically makes G'run'x a yoshi.
Just like Piccolo...
As for why Conner’s oath broke after killing the teiflings, TECHNICALLY they were innocents in the eyes of his oath, so TECHNICALLY he broke his oath, though to be fair him becoming a Oathbreaker really does fit for a Githyanki.

Closer to 3:30. But thank Lysender for people like you! 3 minutes feels like agony to wait when your stoned or have adhd. Double whammy for both.
Unus annus, fellow rememberer.
you couldn't keep your oath for THIRTY MINUTES!?

So, the Oathbreaker Knight was an Oath of the Crown right? That is what it sounded like.
That's what t sounds like to me.
Connor should make Hank Hill as his backup character
G'run'x when Mol snitches
Me when I get you !!!!! Oathbreaker sounds
You can cure the bloodless curse with shadowheart, but you have to be controlling her
You can also use Lay on Hands: Cure

Uploaded 22 minutes ago. I'm at work. Now I have entertainment. Yes!!
Loving this but I have to ask, has Sarah ever actually *played* a video game? 😂 some of the interactions are so dang funny 😂
Small mechanic dooble, lesser restoration will fix bloodless 👍
Okay, Sarah? What did we learn about doing things without the party?
Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Conner RULES ! Bosco DRULES!
Headphone user warnings the yelling gets very loud
What race did you go with for Otho since shifter isn't an option in BG3?
My guess would be half elf
Im on Act 3.......gold has Weight!?!??!?!!??!
G'run: Racism but only for me actually.
So.... is the context for the title in the video? like, i hope so because... otherwise there are implications about things here.
i believe its about the broken oath
Interesting title choice considering all of its cerent political implications. I am very surprised to see it used here. 😮
Well, now I just want to make Ron DeSantis in this game. I can't stop giggling at that mental image.
Dark Urge playthrough
Picked up the game and then killed the bloodsucker. Also half elf ranger named Zefram McMasters
Uhh... are you sure you should use that title? I know the context of it, but there might others that might give really bad assumptions.
BUT FUNNY....
