I was sad to hear of George's death. May he be rewarded by eternal peace. I thank God for George sharing his talent with all of us. My prayerful support to George's family and to his Celtic thunder "family". Peace from, Sister Connie Harkin SSND (a former Glaswegian!!)
It is so amazing how you wear your heart on your sleeve. Y’all all had such a special relationship and I know will cherish your time together as each of you break out on your own.
I'll never forget this day we were at the show. It had been a rough week for us Celtic Thunder fans. It had to be so difficult for Keith to take the stage so soon. He did it though, and told this lovely story that had us all laughing after a while. Besides being amazingly talented, Keith is a class act , and a true professional.
Great tribute Keith. Thank you (to who ever you are) for sharing. Sad that George's been silenced on this Earth but his songs/singjng will forever be heard.
So good to see Keith be able to laugh again when talking about George. I know how much he loved George and will miss him. But these memories of their time together will bring him comfort I am sure. All of the lads in Celtic Thunder are in my thoughts and prayers along with Carolyn and Sarah.
Wow... I was hoping everyone was lying to me when they said George was gone. Beautiful tribute, Keith. I'm sure George would have loved it. Celtic Thunder has been changed forever now. :-(
RIP my dear friend George Donaldson UR BIGGEST FAN MY LITTLE SISTER LOVES U AND WHEN SHE HAD HEARD U PASSED AWAY TO HEAVEN SHE'S BEEN CRYING AND I HAVE BEEN CRYING EVERYDAY... WE LOVE U FOREVER GOD BLESS YOU FOREVER U AND UR FRIENDS.
Even though I was one of the Grannies who became enchanted with Damian, George was the one who caught my attention from the very beginning. It is fortunate (for me) that other Boys have moved on to solo performing, reducing the impact that George's absence will bring. Blessings, George!
Love this!! I was there when that happened. It was Opening Night here in St. John's Newfoundland. It was hilarious!! The rest of the guys stopped where they were suppose to & George just kept on walking....right out to the end of the stage. When he realized what he had done.....he just kinda crept back to where he was suppose to be. Everyone just lost it...the audience were rolling in their seats. My friends & I were in the front row....we couldn't stop laughing. Of course poor George had his finger up to his mouth telling us to "shhhh"...which made us laugh even more. The guys were in stitches as well....Emmet had tearing streaming down his face....they were all trying so hard to keep their composure & get through the song.....they barely managed!! So glad I was there for it & so glad that it's been a fun memory for them. Thanks so much for sharing this video....it's brought back precious memories for me!! Cheers!!
That's the sort of thing you wish there was video of so everyone could see just how funny it was after hearing the story!! It was funny to hear through Keith, being such a story teller, and you know those are the things that they will all hold onto as they navigate these troubling times. So glad to share this!
Myriah Kinley It happened EXACTLY as Keith told it.....Hilarious!! I wish it had been caught on video. I've thought of it many times since & it still makes me laugh. I'm glad I was there....it's a precious memory to have now & I'm happy to know it was a memory that Keith fondly remembers!! Thanks again for sharing this with us.....if not I probably would have never known that he shared that story. Cheers!!
Thank you Myriah for sharing this video with us. Having seen Keith last weekend and then George passing it has been difficult for all of us and you can see how much the CT lads really care for each other.
I just starting watching you Guys for about a week and I been watching from the time I get up to the time I go to bed I just learn about his death and I have been crying scene then and he was from the same town in Scotland that my Grandma was born in. I thank you guys for coming in my life.
Now that both George dead and Keith going solo, Celtic Thunder just isn't the same. Seen them in concert last year and didn't know that Keith wasn't with them anymore until I got there. Still a great show, but George and Keith were the best.
There was a wonderful camaraderie between between all the lads when George was alive. When George passed, something definitely changed. The camaraderie was very different. You could see it in the shows. Then it seemed not long after Keith decided to go solo. There are many times I go back and watch my favorite songs from CT. Majority are before George died. I greatly enjoy Keith and follow him. Since Covid, Keith has been doing shows on Stageit.com/Keith Harkin.
Thank you so much Myriah Kinley for sharing this with us and thanks to all of you who in the comments shared what it was like at the actual show where this happened. So kind of you all
That story brought back so many memories. I happen to be at the show with friends (Bev, Carol, and Glenys) when that actually happened. It was at the beginning of the tour in St. John's, Nl. It happened just the was Keith told it. Was very funny. Had the while place laughing.
No we did not tape it because cameras were not allowed at the show. Thinking back on it now it would have definitely been nice to capture that on video. A night to remember.

This song never made me cry until George died. I associate this song with him more than My Boy or The Old Man.
Great tribute Keith. Thank you (to who ever you are) for sharing. Sad that George's been silenced on this Earth but his songs/singjng will forever be heard.
