- Now here is a truck that I've been trying to track down for quite awhile, and its proved to be quite elusive. Republic has two pups, this one and a Wayne Royal. They basically go around and get all the spread out accounts that are not on or near one of their residential contracts. During the Covid shutdown this spring I made it a point to go to a trailer park that I knew it runs, and waited for it. When it finally rolled in, I noticed a friendly face behind the wheel, Abdul, who you may recognize from some of my videos of Republic's Labries.
An odd thing happened while filming this, apparently the tailgates automatic locks were not latched all the way, and it inadvertently opened, and dumped at least a ton of trash all over the road. The crew spent about an hour shoveling up the mess, and then had to make a run to the dump to be able to open the tailgate again and get it to latch properly, so I had to wait until it made the hour long round trip to get back, as I only had one or two clips by that point. So after about 3 1/2 hours of being with this truck, I finally got two full length videos I was happy with.

This truck is definitely not the greatest for a fully carted route, but after Republic lost the major resi account in this area, and are not sending a bunch of full size side loaders to the area, this truck works out perfectly, as it also does a handful of commercial stops in the area.
This is one of only a handful of ex-York Waste trucks left nowadays, almost all of them being rear loaders. I'm working on finding routes for those trucks as well, but for now I hope this will do.

Very nice! This truck is interesting, it continuously plays the back up beeper with little beeps. But other than that, its a unique combo. Great work.
Thank you! Funny thing about the backup beeper, it’s tied into the strobes. If you notice, the right side bottom strobe doesn’t blink. Someone mistakenly connected the wires for the strobe into the backup light right below it, so instead of blinking, the backup lights blink, which is also tied into the beeper, making it sound whenever power goes through that system. Great video! I think if they had a tipper that didn’t dump so deep it would probably help out quite a bit. Always nice to see a truck that isn’t Republic blue yet sporting the logo, and I must say while rather uncommon this is a pretty nice combo. Great catch, very glad you put a lot of time into this one!
Thank you! I agree that a different tipper would transform the entire truck. This truck has been around for years and years, and when it was new, carted routes were not really a thing, so a tipper was a luxury back then, and somehow it's still tipping away, and hasn't been replaced yet. This is an old York Waste Disposal truck that Republic acquired when they bought them.
Actually super stoked with this video haha. Just curious what the use for recycle in this mobile home? Again great work!
Thank you! Recycle is ran by one of the full size Experts. It collects here first thing in the morning and then floats around some resi routes helping out.

That’s awesome!! I’ve been trying to find some of those trucks for awhile now, but always seem to miss them, or end up in the wrong section. Maybe one day I’ll run into you out there.
Is York City only Monday and Tuesday, or all week?
