Being in Boise I really love seeing these videos along with Venture2Roam. Seeing what’s in our back yard makes me that much more excited to get my ZJ out on the trails this spring! (Replacing the engine in the meantime) Thank you for everything you guys do, Matt. We live in a society where everyone is so spoiled and gimme gimme gimme and it’s so easy to criticize others’ work. Half these people have never off roaded, much less created a UA-cam channel with over 100K subscribers. If people had to spend hours on end just to get one good shot, or edit for weeks on end just to put together a quality video they would be complaining much less. I can really appreciate just the simple concept of someone doing what they love and sharing it. Blessings!
Have Matt, have you ever thought about picking up fly fishing? I have picked it up and it has made trips 10x more enjoyable. With all the places you get to travel to you could do some amazing fishing as well. Fishing on the Snake would've be epic. Great video & adventure. Thanks for sharing.
Great adventure! I live on the Idaho side of this trip. Council to be exact. You can't get into Back Lake until July. The High Dive that you almost made it to would have been completely drifted in with snow. Love it!
Hey Matt. Love the video and the adventures - just wanted to call out something in case you didn’t notice. When you guys were digging out the gray jeep with the winch line attached coming back on the shelf road, you were working from the downhill side of the line while the other two were uphill. We don’t have the best view from the camera, but I know I wouldn’t want to be caught in the gut by that line if the Jeep slipped for some reason. Take care and have a happy holidays & new year!
I’ve enjoyed this Hell’s Canyon recap as much as the original version from last summer. One of my favorites! I live in Bend Oregon and have to get up there.
This video does look like one you posted before. However, you should have a pinball theme, where you have a 'Tilt Meter' for when you're getting close to rolling... add some pinball sound effects.
I enjoyed your Hells Canyon video. l live in the area and I often wonder why people coming here to check out the canyon don't appear to ever talk to the locals for the best information. For example, everyone around here knows that it's very rare, if not impossible, to get into Black Lake before July. The segment where you were turned around and went back was barely into the journey and even if you had gotten past this, you would not have gotten much farther. Glad you were all safe in skirting the snow bank. Then if you really wanted to witness the grandeur of the canyon, you missed the best part by turning left at the bottom of Kleinschmidt grade and going south. Perhaps you were low on fuel at that point, but you really should have gassed up and gone back north on the same road to the end at Hells Canyon Dam, elevation around 1500 feet with canyon walls rising to over 8000. I drive rafters into this canyon all summer long and believe me when I tell you, this is the deepest and most extreme section of the canyon and is breathtaking looking from the bottom to the top. That being said, your drone shots are spectacular and I really enjoyed your footage around Hat Point. That is amazing and does give a little perspective on the depth of the canyon even if it is a ways north of the deepest section. At any rate, thanks for making great videos. It's appreciated!
Just curious with all the trips you've done in that rig since you've had it, What all has failed or had to be replaced to keep it in top running condition? I just bought a JL Rubicon x and I'm planning on doing some trips down the road and I want to get some good ideas on what I have waiting me lol
@@maryputman3535 it’s very common for us to take videos from earlier in the year that were multiple videos and combine them into one longer video over the holidays. These tend to be our best performing videos.
Lots of reasons for this trip. 1) we both love driving 2) the rule is more than one dog means more than one Jeep. Lol. 3) we had to bring the red one to pick up the new topper in Utah on the way. 4) my Jeep was on display at Expo PNW.

Haven’t seen a video that makes me sweat with nervousness in awhile-this one did it! I could feel myself sliding off that snow bank. Yikes.
I spent a couple of days in Hells canyon in September. Seven Devils lake and mountain are a must see.
Great video. I’m living my dreams through you guys lol.

The boat ride on the Snake is fun. I'll go back again one day.
Perfect timing. Set down, turned the "tube" on, this video came up while drinking my Goober Goose Hot Chocolate
Heck yeah. I had goober goose this morning. Best hot chocolate ever!!!

Matt, I love your videos stop doing all that sketchy stuff I would like them to continue!
Hi! I’m curious as to why you and your wife travel in separate vehicles? Practically speaking it would seem to cost more to go this route.

Doing off camber driving on snow banks you will be fine get use to it
Outstanding
