@@EdizAndBen I suggest reacting to The Wild Thornberrys Movie (2002) if you haven’t seen it already. It is an instant favorite if you like animals like rhinos and elephants, and it shows why we must protect them from poachers.

In spite of the bad reviews I feel like this has the potential to become a Cult Classic family film similar to the live action remake of 101 Dalmatians from 1996 or Casper from 1995.
Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio does everything that this movie failed at

I mean, the original 1940’s Pinocchio, Lampwick did say “Jackass” too, but maybe he’s referring to the donkey itself lol
As an American I had no idea it was a curse word, let alone what level it is! Is it similar to "hell" or more saucy like "damn"? Or closer to the f word? 🙀

Coachman's minions in the original were actually also monsters. You can see they are covered in black fur
I never noticed they had fur until I edited this reaction and added those clips in! I was sure they were just people in shadows… crazy!
But they went with their concept in the game: they disappear and reappear out of nowhere.

I think I read somewhere that the Coachman is supposed to be the devil... So if that's true maybe the Shadow whatever are supposed to be demons

Overall I enjoyed this film because pinocchio is a favourite of mine! I think the best part was the set design! It was absolutely stunning! I know they made lots of changes but I think overall I liked it-I thought the blue fairy s rendition of when u wish upon a star was beautiful! Great reaction guys! 🥰

It wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be. But still it has a bunch of problems. Some of the people in it give their best performances and I do like Zemeckis as visual director.

I loved your reaction of the original animated film. You talked about how Jiminy Cricket was a terrible conscience, and I agreed. Lol. In my opinion, Jiminy was a better conscience in this version. :)
He was definitely a better conscience! But he was also more boring than the original 😂

And the clocks! Woody and Bullseye? Donald Duck? Roger Rabbit? Maleficent? Jumbo Jr? I was so surprised by that when I first saw it. I said to myself, "Wait. Is that Woody?!"
27:30 sure, he wasn't naughty to be a bad boy... But he did enjoy the "having fun part". That still affected him, but not as fast as the other kids
I've heard somebody make the theory that the Coachman is an otherworldly being/demon, and so that why he has those shadow henchmen, an enchanted island, and a way to create the rides.
I’m not sure if I’m far enough into the video to see if you guys realise this yet, but just in case! The formula for the donkey transformation was in the root beer they were drinking, and it was the same in the original 😊 It was all in the beverages and foods they were being offered on the island, and since the kids were just allowed to run free and be brats, of course they were gonna have as much as they wanted!

@@EdizAndBen That's okay!! I only just realised it after the remake too!! Thats why the coachman is so adamant to be like "have a drink! Actually take two!!" just right off the bat, because the more they drink and eat, the quicker the transformation! Hence why Pinocchio only got the ears and tail, because he took like two sips, saw what happened to Lampwick and immediately put the drink down!
That makes a lot of sense for the remake!
The live action Pinocchio was cool he looked like the animated version

Haha, we edited it for our classic Pinocchio reaction! There’s also a great Stromboli/Nicki Minaj mash up in there too! 😅 But yes, definitely equal parts blessing and curse! 😂

Pinocchio and Peter pan were always my favorite Disney movies as a kid, this one is so lifeless compared to the original, they better not do this to Peter pan.
I did. I thought it was okay, at the very least. It’s not awful, at least not to the extent others have said it is.
But I WAS right! The donkey scene was even MORE creepy and terrifying in this version. Especially with how the braying donkeys sound more miserable here.
But I’ll say this. Tom made me laugh when he says: “ You did ALL that in ONE day!? “
@@channelnamepending8329 Don't be too hopeful... for some reason they seem to be on a mission to remove all the flaws of their main characters. Peter Pan had a lot of flaws (which helped make him so endearing) so expect him to be bland in the new one!

Actually, the origin of his name is explained in the book and in more truthfull adaptations of it so I didn't mind the explanation :)

@@EdizAndBen well it's said that Pinocchio is from Pino, which means pine wood but which is also the diinutive of the name Giuseppe which means Joseph, I don't fully remember where it is in the original book (which is really really dark by the way with awefull things happening) but I remember seing it in it and it other movie adaptations as well
For the past while, I was really hoping that Disney would get around to making a live action Hunchback and Black Cauldron. After this movie, though, not so much.
After the Blue Fairy sang it was all down hill from there!! These "live action" remakes are bordering on being a scourge to society!

I agree. I like how they changed Jiminy and made him a better conscience. The weird thing is how he didn't get a batch at the end but he is literally a lot better of a conscience than in the original.
I really like the remake story but some people are dislike because of lost of magic of a movie.
