So many scale boats and sailboats. What a great meeting. Put it on my favorites. Happy for seeing you participate with your tugboat and with your first tow!!! Also I felt sad very much for your father in law and your uncle my friend Terry.
I couldn't find a "love it!" button, that rtr almost fits in with the scale crowd...a bit of weathering, and you'd lose it from noticability... Amazing tugs! amazing pond, and set up! Thanks for sharing, and you have my condolences.
Thank you Kosmas! That means allot my friend. My Uncle I did not know but he was into RC as well and my Mom is sending me out a fishing boat that was his to run... it will be a nice addition to my collection for sure. Thanks again man!
Thanks allot Chris! Glad you enjoyed it. I have a ton of footage from over the past couple weeks that I plan to get together as well of flying and my new Go kart.. perhaps I'll do that before the scale video.. Thanks again!
Isn't it wonderful there! I really need to get down there for sure… they do a Christmas light contest. I'll find out and try to get down to film! I missed the Regatta this year.
Boy, there's nothing like a model tug doing a scale 120 knots on the water! Jetting here and there, rudder twitching left and right ... ... makes me wonder "why put all that realism into the appearance when you're gonna zip them around like speedboats?" S L O W Down and E A S E Up on the rudder inputs, folks! Credit for using Schpongle for the background.
Float foam under any structure and use a small weight to hold it in place… This pond is only 3 or 4 feet deep so its easy to anchor. Is this info helpful? I can snap photos someday of their setups if you like.
The first thing I notice is the sound of electric motors (and/or running gear). Even through there is "music" put on top of these. This sound has nothing to do with real ships, and ruins great otherwise show of scale models.
+yuowatcher I'll be sure to overlap the music a bit better so you will subjected to that only next time. Some have sound modules but not many. Hope you enjoyed the boats though! Please leave me a link to a video that shows scale models with real boat sounds for an example. Thanks! I have yet to find it on youtube myself.
4mods I did enjoy the models very much, THANK YOU! I also found your club website, and enjoyed that too! Sorry, I didn't mean to say, louder music, and real sounds from models... Probably I tried to say two thing simultaneously. First of all, I didn't like music put over real sounds at all, it is much better to only have the sounds that camera recorded when one videotaped it. Like documentary. But this is just one person's opinion (mine) which doesn't count. Second, about sound I usually hear from models when they are running. It doesn't matter for me if they produce sound of a real boat - which I've seen and heard a few times, with sound of diesel engine depending on throttling. But majority of models are scale 1:48 1:96 and smaller, when you watch them, if you see real ship looking that small, it would be at such distance, that you will not hear any sounds, and that is why no sound at all is pretty much close to reality. What I tried to say though, very often you hear the sound of electric motors, and probably that of running gear. Usually motors sold to modelers are rather noisy. The same goes about running gear. And all that produces the noise that just ruins the feeling of real ship - for me at least. On my model I used less usual motors. They are extremely quiet, not like junk sold to modelers. Then, I made running gear myself, and put some effort to make it quiet. When my 165 cm model runs full speed, and you are mere 2 meters away from it, you will hear nothing. Thanks again for great videos of wonderful models!
I understand! I take everyone opinions to heart for sure. I value each one for sure, it helps me be a better creator in the end! Thanks so much for taking the time to explain more to me. Have a great weekend and I've been meaning to get to the pond soon. Cheers

That was definitely a Canadian flag I saw at the very beginning.
Go Canada, EH?
You got it, we are in the great white north! Thanks for the comment!
Take off eh. I only know of one Burnaby and that’s a few thousand Km from my house here in N Ontario. Are you nautical freaks in the West?
@@rickkentner1713 Oh yeah the club is going strong at that Burnaby pond for sure!
It was an awesome turn out for sure, thanks!
They do a great job there for sure eh! Thanks!

You've got some great advice here, I'll be sure to pass it on to everyone down at the pond. Thanks!
Most if not almost all of these boats are scratch built as well! Crazy eh. Thanks
Awesome boats !
Thank you.
Thank you, they are gone to early.. both. Stupid cancer.
Right on, will do!!
Anytime, thank you!
Please teach me installation of a buoy and the method of recovery.

Almost everything you see at these events is scratch built for sure. Mine however have been rtr for the most part.
i have the tugboat that is at 4:07 mins in the vid, anyone know who the owner was?, my girlfriend got it at a garage sale.
Not sure but that is awesome! I've got to get over to the park and say hi this year!
Why didn't they have the tech then but finaly now (as in cures for desises)
For sure, if its broke.. just fix it.
