Wow, some beautifully cinematic shots of the mountains! I was feeling stressed, watching the tent blowing in the wind, afraid that at any moment it might fly away! An enjoyable video. Good job!

Hi mari,
Great journey you have taken us on to explore what beauty south korea has to offer. The live chat was lively today . That campsite was beautiful with unobstructed views and scary so close to the edge of the mountain drop . That wind was brutal and unforgiving. i believe you mentioned during the livestream that it was part of typhoon🌀 going thru.
I see you were struggling with tent in the wind. I'm glad you weren't injured or hurt in the wind so close the edge of mountain.😢

Anywho....I've been single for 10 years running a business and moved here to have fun...I love to camp, swim and fish. I fish a lot with my grandkids and they are getting pretty good! Just felt funny about going camping by myself, but, after watching you do it, it inspired me to try!!

Mari, always use all the guy lines when pitching your tent, make them as long as possible, that way you won’t have to go outside in the storm to fix them.

This was excellent. When you tent did not have a problem in those heavy winds it said many things. First you set it up properly, sell anchored and in the correct angle to the wind. Second it is a quality tent as poorly made ones can fail in bad weather. There are times when your cooking is great but the items you use are not ones I would normally eat. Today I changed my mind on that, if it is cooked fresh, I would give it a try. You also have woodworking skills, sadly I do not. I joined your other channel and will watch this week. Your adventures are away from the family but a little different each week. You are the first thing I look for Sunday mornings when I wake even BC (before coffee), while I may not finish watching till later it is on my Sunday to do list. Have a wonderful week.

Only two recommendations that I can think of for getting a tent more secure in winds like that.
1. Bring a sandbag for each and every tent stake. Tie the bag to the top of the tent stake and put it on top of the stake itself.
2. Use large dog tie outs rather than tent stakes. The kind that are large metal spirals and screw into the ground. Screw them as far into the ground as possible. Using a wooden pole or wooden branch makes it easier. They’re much less likely than tent stakes to be pulled out of the ground from high winds. Remember that these are designed to hold the pull of large dogs.

That’s one thing I saw another channel do when they encountered unexpected high winds. They filled up several bags with gravel from the lot itself and put them down directly on top of the tent pegs. They also can be used to help with keeping winds, water, and rain from getting under the edges of the tent especially when the tent doesn’t have a built in floor.

Hi Mari, Not a good time for camping in a tent, I think those extra ropes on the sides should be pegged down as well to stop the wind blowing the frame, I might be wrong as you have been putting up tents more than me. Please stay safe there and may be sleep in the car in those conditions.
