Any wax will fail quicker if you are using a pressure washer. If you wash and use a water hose with the water flowing over the car without excessive pressure I imagine you will get double the amount of time between waxes. Most other waxes state this on the bottle somewhere...
I use Colinate 845 once a year with a follow up using Meg synthetic x after each wash, its been 9 months (Southern California) and my trucks 15 year old finish that's parked outside 24/7 is holding up great.
Kept my 1998 Cherokee XJ rust free in Chicago for 22 years, 550k miles enough, said.
I used 845 in 2017 and 2018 in Elgin, IL; near Chicago , I used poor boys polish, and then 845. Lasted October thru March bout 6 months . Used it on 2012 impala

Can a ‘Wash and Wax shampoo’ help in longer retention of Collinite 845’s coating by, say, adding a layer of the so-called wax over Collinite 845’s coat, or will such shampoos harm the wax coating rather than aiding?

Very interesting! I use Collinite 845 but honestly I think I prefer Meguiars NXT 2.0 for the amount of time it beads and the slick feeling. For some reason the Collinite doesn't feel that slick under my fingers the way the Meguiar's does. I also don't think it is as durable but your test proved otherwise with almost 100 days between waxing, which is pretty long.
yes, megs seems more slick than this and have better beads.
Depending on the weather, I put on a coat of 845 with every wash (weekly, dirty or not). Very little of it goes a loooong way.
Hmmmm I have had really good results with 845. I'm ~3 months in still have great beading. Wet but mild winter (7* - 15*c)

Just keep layering it on if your clear coat isn't all gacked out and needing stripping if so look at my post. 845 rules
4th wash it was finisihed. Good stuff but 3 washes takes like 1 month -_-
7 washes? What are you using? I get a hell of a lot more than 7 washes out of 845.
sometimes mothers, or megs.it's a daily drive car with 8 hours drive time a day

I have this on my cars that have light color like silver, white etc and will stay for sure 6-8 months and every 3-4 weeks a wash with meguairs carglass...love the collinite!!
@@easycardetailing9161 Agreed, I used megs fast finish as a base and 2 coats of 845, lasts me a long. Collinite is awesome!

If your paint is oxidised it won’t last try it on a different car also what shampoo are you using
It does all depend on paint preparation. If the paint isn't perfectly polished nothing will last. The cleaner the surface, the better it bonds.

how is it unfair when this was applied on a clear paint?, unclear paint would only last about a month, every my car wax test video always get polished
he is using Dawn Dish soap to wash it , that is why , I own an Auto detailing shop , and Collinite 845 it is my go to for every car and also for my personal . It last over a year with the correct soap and technics .
@@arielalvarado4452 i think it depends on the envitontment. He lived near Jakarta, city with worst pollution and dust percentage. And he using the car as a daily transportation.
I've personally tested many local and import wax (such Kit metallic wax, megs gold c & ultimate wax, TW metallic wax, Sonax Speed wax, etc), included the Collinite 845 on a daily-ride scooter, and it last for 75 days, althought i've applied QD every week after wash tho.
