I was 14 years old in Grade 8 watching the game on EMTV with alot of Pride!! Forever the Memories!!!Love the comment by Ray Warren "They play almost on concrete ground, Hahaha"
Real hero's back then, such legacy of rubgy league team spirit should be maintain that way. Port Moresby Vipers. 💪💪💪❤️❤️🇵🇬. Our current Kumuls team should watch that footage and get some hint of what Papua New Guinea rugby league has been played back then. So stunning and so tough.
Very good games indeed. I'm watching this now in 2023. Can't remember this game. But I think the Port Moresby Vipers were better back then. I don't think I fancy PNG Hunters? Port Moresby Vipers should have being revived back into the QLD Comp instead. Not PNG HUNTERS? VIPERS were a legendary team from PNG that everybody new in NZ, AUS, & PNG. What's wrong with the PNG government? Sometimes we need to keep the past alive for the new generation as an inspiration. Commenting from Milne bay Province Alotau PNG🇵🇬👍🤔
Great players in those days, I'd liken their game to the current Fijian sevens. Great plays, playing smart, attacking with more than one player, keeping the ball alive, always moving and having fun also (one hand back pass). Epic !!!
Some of the vipers players back then was made up of Defence rugby league, players, even Kumuls players, were Defense rugby league club, players,(soldiers) unlike today, Defense rugby league clubs, has no players, that are in the Kumuls, team, unlike back then,in the likes, of Kes Paglipari,Jack Uradok,James miviri, kerra Ngafgin, plus some others, names, were all soldiers, who even represented the country,as Kumuls, playing, those were some of the household names back then,They were serving soldiers, from the Defence Force Rugby clubs, that were picked to play as Kumuls,🇵🇬💯✌️🪖

Because this team is made up of 100% Coastal Boys,no highlanders.
It's Kerema, Motu,Tolai,Kavieng and Sepik.
Vipers players were world class. Period!!!
That was when coastal players dominated rugby league in PNG
Are you stupid? Most of those players were highlanders 😂 I don't think you even know them but just wanted to hate on highlands 😂
