Im enjoying your videos. The longer shakles may invert at full wheel travel. ARB's OME suspension used to make extension shackles with a middle bolt offset so that it acted like a bumpstop on the spring stopping the shackle going over centre. Glad you found the shocks, thanks. We just put 215 75 on ours changed the speedo by about 5ks at 100, use google maps while your driving to check. Your tyres are bigger again so is the low gearing on steep climbs still ok? Another alternative to lifting. Soften up the leaf springs progesionally and instal rolling sleeve air bags in place of the bump stops. Install seperate dash controls (inflater). Big bonus is of you need and extra 4" of clearance to get over an obstacle just inflate the bags. Also legal problems but nothing a blue plate can't sort.
An enjoyable and informative video. One piece of information you did neglect to share is that Simon's vehicle with the extended shackles is now illegal on every public road in every state in Australia. Having made that statement I will follow up with the fact that I own a vehicle which may, or may not, utilise extended shackles to give it a cheap suspension lift.
Kev quick question, What are the measurements of your Van... front and rear.... The reason I ask, we have the same Van as yours.. 2018. As it stands, ours is around 795mm ish front and around 775ish Rear. This is as we bought it. I noticed in the Video that the other Van is a tad shorter after you Guys did the Mods??? Cheers
Hey! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I’ll take some measurements soon, I’m looking to raise mine a little more in the front soon so I’ll do after that!
Sorry Kev For the Million Questions !!!!!!!! With your front Ultima Shocks, I noticed that they have 3 Plates in the package with 2 small nuts and 1 large Nut with built in washer. How did you mount yours using only 3 plates ??? The reason I ask is I tried to use the old Plate on the bottom of the top mount but it seemed to be on and angle ??? Cheers !!!
We ended up only using the new hardware with the new shocks, however we have found they are quite a bit larger and don’t fit into the hiace shock mounting holes as well as they should, we couldn’t use the locating shim on all of them as the top thread of the shock was too close to the edge of the hole!
Thanks Kev, I just ordered the bias brake extension for Hilux n79...I hope this is the correct one. Just you mentioned when you were adjusting the brake bias...rather then tapping the brake line, you can buy a extension...
Thanks for commenting, hopefully it’s the right one, I may investigate and see if I can find one that suits! I’ll check out the one you mentioned too :)
These use a torsion bar system, so where the bar mounts to the chassis can be adjusted, I’d probably not be able to explain it as well as you could find on UA-cam, worth searching :)
I hit the link for the front shocks but they look different to the ones in your youtube vid can you confirm?also your van looks like it already has the longer lifting shackles installed is that why you didnt fit lifting shackles to your van in the vid?
Hi there! I think the picture may just be generic, if the part number matches then it will be right! Yes I fitted the longer shackles to mine a while back so didn’t need to do that on mine :)
Anyone know of a video showing the front diff being done? it's simple, but I can't even get a socket on the front filler plug. They've got 24mm bolts on there, and I can't find a socket or wrench that can both get in there or apply enough torque to remove it.

👀
whats the "legal" way to lift the back?
@@jonasbellchambers8142You can get the standard springs reset or buy heavy duty aftermarket springs that raise the height of the vehicle once fitted.
@ new leaf springs
Great video mate! More build vids!
Thanks for the comment! Yes more build vids will be coming!

Sorry Kev, Also, the Brake Bias, Do you have a little more info on that ?? Cheers !!
I’m not an expert but I have a basic understanding on how it all works, what did you want to know? :)
Thanks Kev, I just ordered the bias brake extension for Hilux n79...I hope this is the correct one.

This is the one I was Talking about Kev Toyota Hilux N70 2005 - 2015 - Brake Portioning Valve Extension (CORBPVEHL
Thanks for that!
I like Hiace 4 wd .
I understand the shackle lift, but where does the lift come from on the front? I'm used to cars where you just buy a set of coilovers.

@@Vanlyf I just missed the tiny part of the video where they showed it. I get it now.
After the lift, what size tires would fit without rub? How big could you go?
I ended up putting 225/75r15 on with slight rubbing at full lock

I’d be interested to see this too!!
Good job...👏👏👏👍👍👍👍🇫🇷🫡
Thank you :)
Hey you guys. Need your help. Do you know if I can do the same lift on a 2024 hi ace lWB.
What type of Hiace is it? If it’s the same body shape it should be the same!
How is the ride on these shocks ? Much stiffer ?
Feels good, the old shocks were way too soft, this feels planted and corners way better :)
Hi. I followed the link for the shackles and it shows they are for a Hilux 05-15 year models. Is that correct?
@@bernardmusona hi yes! They happen to fit perfectly :)
'thets a nice jobe. i will follow youre chanel.
Thank you! ❤️
