The Dyane is just an angular 2cv.
On snowy roads in his 2cv, my father was able to climb hills that no other cars could climb.
So much sensations being "magic carpeted" by this car 😊
    A fantastic toy.
Like said a friend of mine a few years ago : "If I'm rich one day, I will buy a 2cv" ❤

One of my friends had a GS X3 with a 2CV frame on it ( if I remember correctly with a 6 cm lying down job). The engine was pushed to nearly 90 HP... I let you imagine the faces of the other drivers when they were passed by a supersonic 2CV flying at more than 150 km/h.

I owned a bright yellow Dyane and it was one of the cars I've enjoyed the most, fantastic fun to drive. The thing you learn is that the conservation of momentum is all important to maintain decent progress, following on from that you learn that the car will corner at ridiculous speeds without any fear of rolling.

Do not under estimate the fabulous suspension construction of the 2CV ( and the Ami6) . It is designed by people who layed their soul in it , with only a few simple targets : It has to be comfortable , must be cheap and must can carry a crate of eggs undestroyed through rough terrain. In 1966 we drove from Holland to Switzerland in one run , stepped out without any sign of fatigue, set up our ( 2 pers) tent , took out the seats and used them as camping chairs ( the most comfortable of the whole camping) And the children slept on the flat floored bottom of the car. No other car ,ever, could peer with this one. Oh yeah , it ran 20 km's on one ltre of petrol.

Watching this makes me want another, but they are so rare and so pricey these days, and 2CVs are pricey as well. I seem to remember I paid about £300 for mine, though it wasn't in very good condition. They are great fun to own, just don't have a crash in one as you will be first at the scene of the fatality.

Our two sons (now 28 and 24) can still jump from a 'regular' car into one of our Citroens and don't have to think about the gear stick, lack of any electronics or fancy steering etc, they do forget about the body roll though.. :-)
