AWESOME!!!! No playback or lipsynching here! Dio didn't need to. He and his band had REAL talent.
SKILLS not talent alone. A lot of people got talent and dont do anything with it.. You still got to practice all day long no matter what!
Vivian played more notes in this song than he has in his whole career with Def Leppard. \m/
That's fucked up lol. His chops are ingrained in my head, couldn't play them, but some of his energetic approach and the way he approached things did. Viv'[s departure took them from my favorite band to a top, but in a larger grouping.
Haha that's funny! Def's still sick cool too!! Totally different things those two bands or well first leppard record's quite pure hard rock that too
Vinny Appice was probably told by the show producers to get on with the song. Drumming like a mad man....fastest version heard of Stand Up.
25 dislikes?
You know, I really never knew how old Ronnie was until his death at 67 years old. Back when he relaeased 'Holy Diver' it's hard to believe he was 40 years old and looked like he was at the top of his game THEN...he was timeless...
I had the privilege of seeing DIo 3 times! Every show was Awesome! Ronnie supported the Troops during the Gulf War as well. A friend I was stationed with in Saudi Arabia got letters, Pictures, and Posters from Ronnie!!! Ronnie always gave his best. We miss him. God Bless to Ronnie James Dio and His family! What an incredible Voice!!
Ronnie "Stand Up and Shout" 35 idots...
R.J.D. = The voice, the best vocalist ever in the history of Rock - Metal.
Ronnie never die...he's still alive from the many many amazing songs...
Dio + Vivian Campbell + Vinny Appice + Jimmy Bain = Best line up for Dio's band !!!
@@theogdirkdiggler Jimmy Bain. Born James Stewart Bain on December 19, 1947 in Scotland.
He was the main writer here on this as well as so many others and helped write two solos albums for Phil Lynott.
He was a multi instrumentalist to include vocals.
He died with his boots on quite literally.
He was on the Def Leppard Hysteria on the High Seas cruise . He had lung cancer but apparently not fully aware. He was taking antibiotics for pneumonia but insisted on being with his band to play. He was found dead.
““I’ll say this about him. He was a true rock and roller to the end. He died with his boots on - literally. We found him in full regalia in his that cabin on the ship and he was living it to the end. He believed in it so much and it was so sad that he never actually got to see it.”~ Vivian Campbell
I have a broken heart.
Now your voice was brought there to the silence.
But your music lives on.
Always ......
I miss you
Shwoo that was like 10 times faster than the studio version. Adrenalin!!
And to think the man was 40 when he put out the 'Holy Diver' album....unreal!
What a voice. This was the first song I saw Dio play live at the Manchester Apollo. He nearly took my head off with his voice. Such power. Just awesome.
So sad Ronnie has passed away today. A real loss to rock music. R.I.P Ronnie and thanks for sharing your great music.
The sound on this is really brutal, for a TV show of that era.
Howie Mandel must of freaked out with all those hands touching him. Ya know, with his germ-a-phobia, and all. R.I.P. Dio....I miss you.
i love Dio's style of songwriting. So metaphorical and unique. Rock On!
RIP Dio. \m/
I'm really sad,the best voice of all times it's gone
R.I.P. Ronnie!
Pretty insane to think that just over 20 years before this, Ronnie was singing 50s/60s pop music
song rips and solo smokes! RJD you badass you !
Ronnie was amazing and brilliant. His music lives on!
This song kicks sooooo much ass! If you have any perspective on metal, you will understand why Dio and the Holy Diver album was groundbreaking at the time. It hold up today. Classic.
If you aren't banging your head when you listen to this then something ain't right man. LoL... At least a couple head bangs man.
This aint the only time a Dio fan got on stage and started screwing around There was a tour where Dio was doing Heaven and Hell and this guy came up and put his arm around Dio's neck in what looked like a headlock. Dio looked at him said "who the hell are you", then took the guy by the scruff of his vest and pushed him towards the security guys Thats the thing about Dio, he never gets upset with his fans. Anyway, awesome song one of Dio's greats. Keeping rocking for another 1000000 years DIO!
@MondoReyTV1 well, Vivian thought his guitar capabilities where limited with the Dio, the man who gave him everything, made him famous, gave him a shot to be something, left Dio to go to a band like Def Leppard, where his playing skills were even more constrained, well due to the fact i consider Def Leppard to be the modern equivelent of a band like the Jonas Brothers, and he has resided there since then.
The world needs another singer this fucking good. Either that, or we need to ressurrect this man somehow...
I love Dio. Love Vivian and Vinny as well. This was an amazing band.
1:22 The security was enjoying the music and didn't come for so long. The fans are so close to Dio and he trusts them so much and shakes their hands... ❤
immortale. la più grande voce metal! riposa in pace.
Who and the fuck can vote this down? Those 23 bastards need to be sent to the last in line.
Ronnie James Dio fucking rocks!
Diabolical voice of Rock-n-Roll!
Will live forever!
scaryb69 Those Are The Types That While I Was Hearing This Song Live And Stood Up And Shout They Would Shout At Me To Seat Down. You Are Right They Are The Last In Line And They Don't Rock.
Make that 32. Send them off Syria to fight ISIS, that will make them stand up and shout alright. Ronnie rocks!!!!!
Fuk, you can see Ronnie's really buzzing through this performance...what a band....back when Vivian Campbell actually meant something. RIP RJD.
ronald james padavono (dio)
missed very much, a fan way back (60's) and a fellow rocker in my mid 50's who owes him tribute, he was one our founder's
RIP Dio...we'll miss u a lot
Thanks for all of the songs you have made.
Awesome performance, I was at the taping of this show. Venue called the Palace across the street from Capital Records in Hollywood. RIP RJD . you Rock!

Ronnie, such a great talent, always put all he had into his performances, started going to his concerts in the 70s when I was in college and still love his voice and talents
me too, I was born in '93 -.-
Dio kicks today's 'music' everyday :D

Lyrics:)
It's the same old song
You've gotta be somewhere at sometime
They never let you fly
It's like broken glass
You get cut before you see it
So open up your eyes
You've got desire
So let it out
You've got the power
Stand up and shout, shout
Stand up and shout, shout
You've got wings of steel
But they never really move you
You only seem to crawl
You've been nailed to the wheel
But never really turning
You know you've got to want it all
You've got desire
So let it out
You've got the power
Stand up and shout, shout
Stand up and shout
Let it out
That woman is inmortal now :-)
>NEZMARQ: Yeah, like copying Maiden with year
> older song. Dio's album Holy Diver with
> song "Stand up and shout" came 1983
> opposite to Maiden's Powerslave 1984 album
> with song "2 Minutes to Midnight" song. =)
> Check yours stats before making silly
> comments like that.
I think that was his point, that Maiden's song sounds like a copy of this one.
Rest in Peace, Great Rock'n'roll Singer, Long Live To Great Man DIO, Your work, Your Voice, Your Energy, Are Alive With Us EVER, and EVER...
Fast pace .. solo from Viv is excellent!! Greatness back then. Glad I seen this set up.
Rest in peace, he will be forever remembered as a king of kings.
Great start to a great album. RIP Ronnie, you are one of kind. Thanks for the great music and shows.
@LadyBritannica I`m sure a moment in her life that she will never forget
I figured this great footage would rear it's head on youtube sooner or later! AWESOME.
Wow, the band is on fire!!! Hail Ronnie!
LOL i have never seen this video before and yes LadyBritannica that was so cool that chic getting up there with Ronnie i laughed so hard and i dont know how he kept from it
Deal or NO Deal.
Dio,nunca nos esqueceremos de tudo o que voce fez pelo Rock'n'Roll! Voce deixara saudades a todos os Rockeiros do BRASIL!
Descanse em Paz!
this Dio concert was the first & the very best of them all!
It wasn't the first solo show. The first show was in Antioch California on July of 83'
It's great to see Vivian Campbell back when is still had balls before he joined Def Leppard.
Rock In Peace from Italy ♥
It looked like she was "politely" escorted off the stage. Man the '80 kicked ass. They would stomp you these days.
That chick was awesome. She looked like a "square" but she was taken over by the music & the beat.
I went to a Ramones concert (their adios amigos tour) I saw a chance, so I put my foot in my friends clenched hands and he launched me on stage. I put my arm around Joey and sang "Rock and roll High School" until a guy grabed me by the neck and threw me down the loading ramp. Their tour manager was pissed at that guy. The Tour manager let me back in and gave me an all access pass. I got to hang out with them after the show. But you are all right. That guy was brutal to me. He treated me like a fucking rag doll.
I jumped on Stage at a Helloween concert, took Michael Kiske in the arms and then jumped back into the crowd but first didn't miss to stomp into the monitor speaker 😂. That was during the Pink Bubbles go Ape tour in the early 90s in Frankfurt, Batschkapp....I will never forget those moments and the amazing concerts and audience in these days, my brother was in the crowd at this moment
Absolutely amazing vocals on this. What a great band they were for a few years. RIP Ronnie.
Awesome footage of the legend! Rest in peace RJD!!
LOVE this song, Dio had so much energy with his legendary vocals n so did the band with their uptempo thrash metal sound, this song totally kicks wimpy One Direction ass!!!:D Love having this song cranked up loud in my car while driving real fast, the feeling is awesome!!!:D
He will be truly missed.
That was one amazing performance!
My all time favourite as a show opener.
RIP RJD. A fittingly ripping performance.

RIP Dio, a true legend.
Gosh... his voice is just awesome. Period.
1983-on top of the world
@ElectricHellfire001 I love how you had to go back 7 years to dig up an exception to the rule.
Love this guy...for sure one of the BEST voices ever...alot of expression and power !
What an amazing performance! Dio is the King!!
God Bless you Dio. You have been with me all these years. You are in my Prayers. God be with you.
its like he didnt know what to do when that chick came up. hell i wouldnt either. lets just go with it!. rock! stand up!
fucking awesome. First heard this when i bought this cassette and last in line when it first came out when I was in grade 8. Big contributor to my life of being a metal head. Thanks RJD, waving my horns in eternal salute to a rock god
I love the part to when he dances with that chick, cool for sure, instead of having her tossed of stage he danced with her, AWESOME,
R.I.P. Ronnie \m/ \m/
Awesome, awesome, AWESOME!! Ronnie James Dio i without a doubt one of the absolute best there ever will be. Kickin´ass!
Dio is the only one who I've seen who has NOT lost a damn ounce of vocal power or stage presence ever. I first saw him in 80 with Sabbath and many more times since then with his band. The last time I saw him was at the HARD ROCK in Chicago in 2006 and he was BETTER than ever. Let's see these new bands last more than 5 years before they self destruct.
Dio = CHICK MAGNET
i remember watching this when it aired great stuff!
R I P Ronnie.
LizzyRocks ditto mate. Saw him @ Sheffield city hall that tour, front row.
Very sad today , just heard.
Gonna drink a few beers & listen to some RJD Classics
PEACE OUT LITTLE DUDE!
RIP Ronnie, I seen you many times in concert. AWESOME SHOWS.
Ronnie was always great til his dying day, but from 1980-1988 he was a giants among mere mortals. And he used to do a great Paul Rodgers mic stand twirl. Then all of a sudden he just quit doing it. Rock Palace was so kick ass. Ratt, Y&T, Rough Cutt, Dio, etc. All live.
Rock In Peace Ronnie. Your influence carries on!!!
@StraightJacketThrash Hahaha that's by far the best comment ever on youtube! Hell is the new heaven!
All hail Ronnie James Dio \m/
RIP, man! And God bless you!
legend never dies
I saw the same show in Seattle with Yngwie openimg up.2 of my favorite players of all time. It was NewYears eve 86/87.
Can't get any better! 10/10.
Vivian Campbell may have sold out his metal fans and metal background, but you can't dispute his unique, skilled playing during this era. He was one on fire in his heyday.
Hope one day to see you again Ronnie. RIP.
This band was completely amazing live.
THIS IS SOO FUCKING AWESOME \m/
how can you even dislike this ???
I was so damn lucky to be able to say I saw this tour when he came to Pittsburgh. They played a small 3,700 seat theater called the Syria Mosque which no longer exists.
Best rock voice of all time.
His songs with Ritchie in Rainbow were even better! Check out that song Rainbow Eyes.. from about 1978.
