That and I don't really consider inches all that important since a) I'm not american, and b) I'm like 6'1 so 1 inch more or less isn't that much to me

But mathematically, it's not ideal. Base-12 would have arguably been better.
If we adopted base-12, then "10" would be, well, "twelve" (hesitant to write "12", since that's just in base-10)
anyways, such a system is more convenient mathematically, with a divisor of 3 rather than 5, which is more useful.
But of course NASA uses base-10, because humanity chose it long ago so it makes sense. That is not what I was refuting.
