TAIHORO SIGNS OFF IN AUCKLAND | May 1st | America's Cup

- After fourteen quite magnificently efficient days of commissioning, Taihoro begins her journey up to Barcelona to defend the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup, leaving perhaps, to the casual spectator, more questions than answers with certainly a whole heap of performance improvements yet to be realised. This has been a valuable block of training for the Kiwis who know they have an immense platform to now work-up into a world-beating machine - and the Kiwis know it will be anything but easy.

Having Nathan Outteridge on Taihoro is going to be a huge asset to the team.
Wow Taihoro looks fantastic...stable platform and really fast. I'll be there in Barcelona cheering you guys on...go ETNZ!
That boat looks wicked fast !
Agreed!
More speed to come. This is just the entree.
It's an electric piece of crap 😂😂😂@@johnmartin7158
So smooth and fast, see you in Barcelona boys❤
Absolute rocket!! Mad respect for these sailors and designers, they are always one step ahead, really built different. Cheers from Italy, hope we get another chance
Bon voyage Team NZ, bring on the 3-peat!
That is some boat. I wonder how much faster it will go with its new shoes on...!
Hopefully twice as fast or more
@@Pma16 Unlikely (as the foils will cavitate..!!) But quiker, for sure. I'm also sure that the boats will be much closer in speed, which will be an amazing spectacle.
@@charleswalters6064 most definitely
Good luck over there boys, look after the boat and go like a rocket.🚀
Wish you all well. It has been great watching you test run on Auckland Harbour. Looking forward to Barcelona.

massive shout out to Nathan Outteridge. May you join the aussie elites of Americas cup sailors
How does Aussie elites come in....Nathan Outteridge is not an Aussie Elite (is He)
@@ronjenkins7998 dude is a multiple time world champion across a number of classes (repping Australia). I hope he gets to drink from the auld mug. All the best
Surely Taihoro will have the best proven foil sailors on board ..I will await with interest and see how many of the boats end up underwater...I just hope Taihoro will not...The point I am trying to make is the experience and quality of the crew may be the telling factor ...Most NZers remember the Plastic bucket ...??We went through a lot to get to where we are and nobody wants to throw it away...
First! 😂😊 Good Luck Teams!
I only have one grip, who cares if you get more money overseas to stage the AMERICA'S CUP, we the NZ people invested in the boat and race too, only to see it go off shore, pretty dam sad about that, people would have come to NZ to see the race and take a holiday here generating capital for all of us, and have a party at the same time.
PS- it's all about NZ here in NZ, not in some far flung country.
If we manage to retain the America's cup, stage it in NZ OK, it's our cup too.
No market, no T.V interest, no audience, no money. No money no Team NZ.
First! 😂😊 Good Luck Teams!
