    The SnowLion had my attention when they showed the shrunken down version. Such a unique innovation that'll help with sidewalks and other constant ice prone areas. I'd want one once they're able to be run with a compact tractor and a PTO hydraulic power pack. Snowblowers have to be one of the most essential things for you in the winter I bet.

    I sort of liked everything, but I think having the half of the cylinder on that first plow charged with Nitrogen (basically air but more stable across temperature changes) for a faster compression on impact to help keep things in good condition is a fantastic addition. It's so simple but seems like it can do a lot to help extend the life of a pretty expensive bit of metal.

    The yellow push-blade, the walk behind model. I own one. I like it. Best for small amounts of snow. It's held up well. One note, put thread-locker on all threads. Finding bolts in the snow is the only issue I've had. I use it on my 20'x40` driveway. During a snow storm, I find it works best if I move 1/2" or less. So I go out frequently.
    As always Stan, I appreciate your videos.

    • @Grumpy_old_Boot
      @Grumpy_old_Boot 2 роки тому +1

      @@Dirtmonkey
      The bolts keep falling off, but as Brian said, some thread-locker will help.
      Apart from that it's a decent tool for 1-2 inches of light snow, less if it's wet snow.
      Once you go over that, the wheels don't really have enough grip to move the snow to the side, because it's so light.

    Stan. This weekend I was finally able to get up to my cabin and take a good look at the driveway and I definitely over sold how bad it is. I thought it would be terrible but since there was no rain this year all the driving on it has helped it not be so bad. Also I totally thought the rocks were bigger but after I went rock picking I saw that most of them were a little bigger than my hand but there is a few big ones but not the size you probably want. Sorry about getting you super excited to come out. But maybe if I can still convince my dad (who is way easier to convince than my grandma) then maybe you can come shoot a video or two with my tractor if you want.
    Anyways I was super excited to finally get up north and I spent 99% of my time on the tractor doing things like grading out an old barn pad to mowing a field in three hours. I also found out that the tractor makes a great bulldozer for making trails to deer stands.
    I also started school today and holy cow will I have to put my nose to the grind stone and get good grades. Hope you had a great Labor Day Stan.

    • @Dirtmonkey
      @Dirtmonkey  3 роки тому +6

      If it works out and I can help you fix your road just let me know. Now worries about it. I always have plenty of projects going. BUT the most important thing is your serious about school. Your grades may not be the most critical thing but its your attitude of success that really matters.

    The wings are controlled using springs and cables with the angle of the blade. The wings can be manually pinned backed to get the widest blade possible.

I mean, cool it replaces a truck but actually a truck doesn't cost that much. Anyway that just me ranting and again I understand making a profit but gzzz the price of that seems a bit steep. It’ll be fun to see if bobcat takes on kage’s other products like they did with their original skid plow. Has to be huge for Kage to sell thousands of them in the bobcat branding.

      Good question- I wonder if that will happen.

    Watching this the one thing I keep thinking is why haven't the truck plows gone to a skid steer coupler? If it could raise and lower it would make connection quick and easy the plow could be swapped from truck to a skid steer easily and back . As well as being able to transport extra attachments with your truck to a jobsite, or a forgotten attachment.

      I think the western does that? I need to check into more though.

    he use 3 HLA live edge scrapers. honestly, once you get the hang of how much down pressure you need it's amazing. not one breakdown all year.

    nitrogen is more compressible than oil, so it could provide more of a spring action on an impact.

    I plow 10 miles of gravel roads for our HOA in Colorado. I run an older 8' UltraMount Western. I can hook it up in less than 60 seconds, and un-hook it just as fast. I honestly think a Prodigy would be the hot ticket for what i do, since it control just like a straight blade, but with automatic "wings" for extra width. Just don't make enough in a season to justify one...

    We don't have any Snow Plow's like that here in Ireland because we only get a little bit of Snow about once every 5 year's and its melted and gone within a few day's. We get a lot of cold nights and ice on the road's but they just salt and grit the roads when its below freezing

    Stan, I would love to try and buy the new front plow by snow power. Do they have a dealership in western New York. I can promise the guys that the plow will see almost every possible situation the plow could be used for. As usual great video keep it up and stay safe.

      I don't know where their dealers are but if you contact them I bet Rick will find a way to hook you up.
