One of the most beautifully structured TV themes. Love the brass/electronic suspended notes. With the fun graphic stick-man saint opening, it is awesome!
I enjoyed the hell out of that Clive! For a musician and 70s kid, that was two treats in one. Did you play that to a version of the theme without drums, or with the drums lowered in the mix? Because if not... no audible drift whatsoever. Tight as a gnat's chuff. I always thought a good yardstick for a drummer was how long they could play the same rhythm and stay in time. In your case, perhaps all day? Great video. Very practical, very clear, and very illuminating (even though your sticks were a blur!). As a wannabe drummer I almost feel like I could play this if I watched this enough. Inspiring.
With all the remakes going down we should have a new ROTS movie keeping this great thene tune.... Who could we get to supersede the great Ian Ogilvy and what car would replace the XJS?
As a 55 year old child who absolutely loved this prog back in the day, I can honestly say this is one of the coolest things on UA-cam 👏👏👏
I taught Alan everything he knows about drumming and more.Cash back

Nice one man!
does anyone know who the original drummer on the recording (The Saint Orchestra) was? Obviously a top session guy of the time.
10 minutes, Lynn...
Clive, another favourite was ''Man In A Suitcase''......any chance? Not as technical as the ''Return of the Saint''
that was liquid drumming
Nice.
I just watched the Saint shoot a giant ant.
