This industry is wild. Jelly Roll has been around for 20 years, and to think he’s just now winning Best New Artist in a genre that was not his origin genre. Still have his rap albums. And we all appreciate and love KMichelle and she’s been telling us for so long that she was going country. So awesome to see them being able to perform what they love on the big stage and being loved for what they do! 👏🏾 And Ms. Judd, I mean 😌 the legend!
Jelly Roll I think is settling well in country coming from being a rapper. K Michelle has always wanted to do country so I'm glad she finally getting to do that.

Wynonna sounds great. I enjoy The Judds songs but I really like Wynonna's singing in her solo career. I'm not familiar with Jelly Roll. K. Michelle can sing any genre and I hope her country album in Jan 2024 does well. I think anyone with a "cry" in their voice can do well with "traditional" country music.
I would love a video breaking down how each genre of music has a specific vocal style and how those styles can transform a song’s theme. I’m thinking of Dolly Parton’s original “I will always love you” versus Whitney’s performance. Same song but the difference in Whitney’s performance shifted it from a country song to a pop ballad (if that makes any sense).

K.Michelle is one underrated singer. IMO this performance doesn't show what she can really do. Perhaps in singing in more of a country fashion she held back. Im still figuring out Jelly Roll. I need to listen to more of his music. Wynonna did her thing particularly at the end.

She held back so they wouldn't be like "oh, it's r&b". That lady has the vocals to do whatever she chooses. I'll reserve my support for her to do opera, though 😆

@oburney2607 I didn't take it offensive. I said "more country" because K. Michelle is Southerner, but her natural octaves gravitate towards an R&B sound. If you listen to her speak casually and sing for fun, she doesn't have as much twang as she does when she sings Country songs.

he’s more of a rapper. like country rapper. he’s becoming more popular now, so i think he’s in this in between in his style right now. he’s not the best singer, but i think singing with some great vocalist will help him a lot honestly!

Some people might hate me -- but Jelly Roll is a mediocre singer. Both women out-sung him with ease.
Jelly roll is a total different type of musician, he normally sings Rock and roll or hard rock ,metal so he's not really a country singer ,this is why he can seem mediocre, especially when you have such country singing stars as these 2 beautiful super stars singing with him, they have had years of practice compared to jelly rolls time of singing coyntry.i value your opion personally itbshows you were paying close attention. ❤😊
Country music fan here. Country is about the story. Unlike a lot of other genres where it's all about the vocal acrobatics. Many male country singers like Johnny Cash a country legend sing this way. Even in modern country singers like Jason Aldean keep this tradition.
