I used to watch this show all the time along with caillou, Barney, jay jay the jet plane, telitubbies, and Clifford. The feeling of waking up in the morning as a kid and eating my breakfast watching these throwbacks really takes me back 😢 really miss those days of feeling pure joy and excitement. I’m 23 now, and like to come back to these for the nostalgic feeling and flashbacks.
There’s an entire thing about the history of the show when it started and why it was canceled, twice. Still a good show I grew up with, but I guess production was high priced.
They should make a PBS KIDS Throwback Channel featuring classic PBS KIDS shows like this, Dragon Tales, Reading Rainbow, It’s a Big Big World, Zoboomafoo, past seasons of Sesame Street, PBS KIDS Bookworm Bunch, Fetch, and Postcards from Buster! Also add in the old bumpers & promos too! But whatever u do, DO NOT add in any of those babyish shows like Barney & Friends, Caillou, Teletubbies, Boobah, Jay Jay the Jet Plane, Peep & the Big Wide World, or Pocoyo!
Ive always loved lion not just because they are the symbol for Jesus but also because they are strong and beautiful like big cats. Thanks for sharing your talents. Praise the Lord for your gift
this was a great show. i just wish it was still going. i think lionel's puppeteer was awesome! from his ears wiggling to all his "COOOOOOL" comments x3
I'm now starting to wonder if the puppet characters used in "Between the Lions" and "It's a Big Big World" were Jim Henson workshop made muppets. Peter Linz, one of the Muppet voices, voiced characters on both shows. Either that or it's just merely coincidental.
I love 'Between the Lions'. I wanna do puppet stuff, it looks fun. People around my hometown think I'm weird for thinking that way though, it's not my fault that I love puppets. "To boldly go where no puppet has gone before." Good Stuff.
Livingsteno don't let people tell you you're weird for liking puppets or wanting to work with puppets. I'm an older man who was talked out of it back in my younger days and I've regretted it. If you have the passion and talent and the desire then by all means please go for it.
It's amazing because I'm always impressed with how much hand-eye coordination skills these people must have to do this for years and years. Between the Lions, Muppets, even Shari Lewis who did 'Lampchop's Play Along', had the best discernment. It was like her hand and voice were completely separate from her.
I'm here becuase of between the lions puppet is on the thumbnail. that show was my child hood, however now that I think about it, it's not my favorite show. either way it baught me back memories
M Miles I think I watched this on pbs kids but I can’t remember I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it once or twice when I was a kid but I liked Sesame Street a lot when I was younger

One thing about this show im sure it was Extremely Expensive as hell
@@unknownwolf4046 But well worth it. PBS's funding practices helped too.

Yep they were, both shows are Henson company productions and the puppets are made in the Muppet Workshop
@@chey6380 You're wrong. Neither of them were produced by The Jim Henson Company.
