    I really like this kind of video. Introducing a plane telling what is special/interesting about is. And than some showing off. 👍🏼👍🏼

    Gorgeous ! Love the "flaps down" touch and goes - - - especially love the LACK of music, nice hearing only the plane - thanks for the "scale like" flying performance too - - live for 3D, but loved watching the Swiss Trainer, enjoyed every moment.

      The pilot in me was looking for the flaps retract on the takeoffs! :-)

      Yeah I agree. No stupid head banging music. Much prefer the authentic 4cyl engine noise. Beautiful aircraft indeed.

      @@tyroneclarke1666 Yea, great to hear the 1950s farty lawn-mower noise again. So nostalgic. I prefer power to noise, but there are a few old-timers around.

    I really like this model such a graceful aeroplane and flown so well,love those touch and goes and most effective flaps,it looks real and I want to step inside and fly it ! perhaps when all of this nonsense is over he can bring it to a few shows like Weston Park,model flyers would really appreciate this beauty.

    I saw this amazing MD-3 Swiss Trainer at JMM, Jeti Model Meeting 2018 with Eta, 2019 with Swift S1. I asked Gernot if by chance he does not plan to produce a smaller version 1.5m - 2.5m, max 1:4. 20 years ago J.Jurovic from Slovakia planed to produce small 1.4m RtF set but he stopped it probably only with prototype presented at Jmm. Is there existing some company producing smaller Swiss Trainer? It could be also from epp or epo.

    Why do you fly with flaps open? It is a stress to the aircraft. Performance is terrible since it causes great drag anad handling is also affected. To worse. Slow flying - worse aircraft response to control surface input.

    A great project. Elegant. Sounds nice, too!
    I like to see an aircraft with a bit of dihedral; totally flat wings just look wrong to me. Ugly. Clumsy. Dead. A trace of dihedral won't ruin a plane's performance - even the most extreme 3-D machine won't notice 1/4" or so under each tip, but it'll look sooooo much better... (Go ahead - try it! 😁 Prove me wrong!)
    I love the proportions of this plane, and it flies beautifully. Looks odd without a pilot, though...

    • @MartinPickering-PickeringRC
      @MartinPickering-PickeringRC  3 роки тому +1

      I agree dihedral looks nice, however on an aerobatic model, it doesn't work... makes inverted flight less stable as well as less straight knife edge...

    Hey, just subbed to your channel Martin, some cool stuff featured, though I’m not too keen on the big horrible 2-stroke engines, probably the worst sounding engines ever made 😖. Give me a multi cylinder 4-stroke any day 😁. You really need a turboprop in your life, such a cool sound and the ultimate smoke generator from those twin exhausts. Your living/flying in Spain and don’t use Jets Munt turbines? Thumbs up for the cool content in these challenging times 😉.

    Martin, great video I really enjoy your video style with the narrative part explaining things and making everything really interesting. I wonder if in the future you could do a budget radio review for us that are somewhat new to RC. I purchased a flysky fs-i6 and it has been a great starter radio. I want to stick with flysky as all of my fleet are now using their receivers. I want something that has a better feel to the gimbal..a bit more resistance? I'm considering the flysky i8 or the i10, I was wondering if the gimbals are better...I know they have a new nirvana that has hall gimbals. I think it would be a great video from someone like you for beginners. Especially the flysky as they are a popular first radio. I am trying to learn 3D flying so I value your input! Thanks. Keep the videos coming..great job.

    00:50 sorry for my poor english skills I don't understand what is this beautiful mechanic about. Is it for a future retractable gear ? Or flaps mechanic, ailerons complex mechanic mix ?
    Edit: Red an early answer to the same question, it is meant to be a retractable towline for gliders. The big barrel makes sense then. Very clever.

    • @MartinPickering-PickeringRC
      @MartinPickering-PickeringRC  3 роки тому +2

      Yes, thats correct, for pulling glider, and then retract the wire!

    • @soliv27
      @soliv27 3 роки тому

      @@MartinPickering-PickeringRC the device to roll the line regularly is very interesting. What electronic device do you have to control it ? Kind of Arduino ? I also wonder where the line goes out, several points are shown on the upper fuselage which seem linked, but it should be behind the tail.. though rc glider towing is maybe special ?
