Vonzell was the only conestant we looked forward to watching. Her performances and vocals were just impeccable! That woman could tear the house down and she needs a full circle moment even today! I hope she gets her moment in time because she deserves it so much
I still think Vonzell deserved to be a runner up this season. It wouldve been nice to see a girl to girl finale.. though she had no chanve with carrie voting wise. I just think she deserved to be at the Kodak theater. :-)
I like Vonzell alot but I think she ended up exactly were she should. Bo not only was the first one to really represent rock well on idol but was a very good soul singer. This week for example, he had the best performance of the night. Vonzell was second. She had some really strong performances but most of weeks Bo beat her. Top 3 week in particular, he had a moment performance. So no, while I cheer and enjoy alot of Vonzell´s talent and charisma, I wouldnt go that far. She came just after a season with three very strong female R&B singers, the winner being one of the most unique the show had. Carrie and Bo had a bigger advantage because till this season country and rock were always represented by average singers and for once the show found two really great ones.
rhylearugay I agree she should have went to the finals but then that would put Carrie in danger because vonzell had the likability factor that Carrie didn’t have
sboudreaux27 it’s more of vonzell performances vs carrie’s...vonzell was more energetic and Carrie was more of a belter and not a performer...I think Carrie is a better singer but vonzell could sing and put on a performance which could have swayed more of the votes in her favor

Vonzell was from my hometown and new my family!! We voted heavily for her to make it to the finale. It was sad seeing her get kicked off just before the finale happened.
Me too. Her father was my karate teacher and she helped me practice my moves a lot and she would always sing while she was there. I remember telling her she should go on American idol when the first season came out then a few head later here she is! It was amazing to see!
Vonzell always chose the most vocally-difficult songs and she was the stand-out performer that season. She was the most likable contestant that season, someone you can be friends with if you met her in high school. Carrie had better pitch and vocal technique than Vonzell but Vonzell wiped the floor in terms of performance and stage presence.
That’s facts. I’m from ft myers. Her dad was my karate teacher and I knew her personally. She used to sing around the studio and leave everyone in awe. That was maybe 4 years before she went on here. We were all tuned in every week and voted as much as we could. I was so proud of her.
I believe Carrie would have still won, but Vonzell had more range in octaves, and she sang more difficult songs than anyone. Based on singing and performance, it should have been Vonzell and Carrie in the final. Vonzell was the best performer.
Having witnessed her performances in this season, the way she performed better and better from the audition till the finals, I was surprised to learn that she's the only one not getting a contact from any label from that season! Can you imagine it? She could have been another Whitney, Chaka, Diana, and Dionne, if she was given a chance. What a waste!
She sold this with her stage presence.. Vocals were a little rought at the beginning, the middle was great the last half was like Simon said, really at the edge of her vocal range so there were some unpleasent moments. But overall, really strong. Maybe if the key was a little bit lower this would could be a home run.
