Austin, A memorable day and one I had been waiting for and it was all about the South Devon Banks. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Regards, John
Fantastic soundtrack at Rattery! The platform change at Bristol was because of a 25 minute late running XC service, the the Castles were on the train on time.. one of those things!
Yes it was a great pity that the platform was changed but hey ho. The two Castles made light work of the South Devon Banks and the sounds were sensational. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Regards, John
A most excellent video thank you. On a slightly different note, what is it with the prolonged cylinder drain cock displays these days? Is it just showmanship? because we all know that although it's necessary, perusal of older film and video shows much more moderate use of drain cocks.
It appears to be a driving style for some Carnforth drivers but as for the Castles in this video it was noticeable that the leading loco at Bristol Temple Meads had the drain cocks for much longer than the second loco but I have to say that I am not an expert on such matters. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Regards, John
Very enjoyable video John, great locations and superb sound from the Castles
