Logging and grazing = positive revenue for the Forest Service.
Fire Management = massive costs, lost habitat, property destruction, air pollution, death of forest inhabitants, and millions of dollars "lost" in the accounting process.
I guess that's progress 😢

You know what would help in mitigation? Not arresting a forest service wild land firefighters doing their job by a crackpot sheriff in your congressional district. That would help….

I ran into this as a painter doing government contracts. Government contracts for schools, public buildings etc. paid twice the going wage. It's one of the reasons government projects are so over-priced.
