This was such an incredible treasure. Thank you for sharing it. The other in-joke you can watch for on the original series, is that of all the grownups who sing this song in the first generation of Sesame Street, Bob McGrath was the only one who had a serious career as a professional singer before joining the cast. As a result, there was an in-joke throughout the early days of the series to give the other grownups, the kindergarten teachers & theatre actors, the real softball job titles to sing ("Oh, a milkman is a person in your neighborhood," "well the plumber is a person in your neighborhood"), and give Bob increasingly ridiculous job titles to stuff into the song without losing the beat... Bob: "So what do you do here?" Frank Oz's Anything Muppet: "I'm an elevator operator." Bob: *sigh* I should have guessed.... ohhhh... theeee.... eleveratoroperator is a person in your neighborhood...."
I never get tired of seeing people from children shows doing adult stuff like this for fun. 😂
Love you, Bob.
R.I.P.
Bob McGrath
1932-2022
He was one of my favorites when I watched as a kid. He and Luis will be missed

LOL!! Nancy Sans did a great job writing it!
She certainly did, although I do wonder what her original was before some words were changed.
