You got them! Yay. They look great too. What a collection you will have when they’re all together. I can’t wait to see that. I hope you’ll do an update in a few days.
Thank you. They seem to be healthy for now, but they only started feeding this morning. Will certainly do an update on them soon. Hope your fish tank project is moving forward. Can't wait to see your altums in that new tank!
Hello, congratulations for this unboxing and purchase of the five Orinoco altum angel fish. I saw Glasser's box did you get them from him or from a shop that serves this wholesaler? I check weekly fish stocklists of this German importer and I bought many fish from him, he has a very good choice, quality and availability of new fish as well. Excellent acclimatization in the bucket, once put in aqcaurio I admire them and see that they are special. Feed them good food if you can find some live, frozen food to match the commercial. I subscribed and like. I hope we become friends with Hobby, I also deal with these topics. A greeting and see you soon.
Thank you! I'm happy to subscribe to you as well. The new Altums are from a local fish store that trades with Glaser. They are German bred by Simon Forkel
I am from the uk and i would love a group of 5 altums. However my local fish store will get wild altums and quarantine them for a while. I am unsure if i want to spend £250-300 on wild specimens or i should go for captive. I would love some advice. Especially where to get the captive.
I bought my f1 Altums from Wildwoods (World of Water). They frequently have German-bred Altums for about £50 for a juvenile, and they ship fish. I should have their phone number somewhere. I also bought captive-breds from GM Aquatics. I think they are even cheaper for £45. You can find them on Facebook, and the guy delivers fish himself across the UK for £25. Wild fish are too fragile and if stunted (because they re not fed in Colombia) not going to grow, so I'm trying to avoid them.
Hey, that's a shame about the wilds not making it. I keep getting confused about " rio negro " altums. Are they what they also call Peruvian or false altum or they a subspecies of true altum????. Your F1s came in beautiful. Perfect tank for quarantining. Can't give them a better home with all those plants while they're stressed. Looking forward to seeing the updates. Thank you for sharing. 👍👍👍✌👋
Thank you! They are already feeding. Rio Negro altums are true Altums. They re supposed to have lots of red color, but they re really hard to find and seem to be even harder to keep alive!
@@tropicalfishhub oh wow that's really interesting. I'm curious then why someone like Wattley doesn't carry them. Maybe you already answered that with you saying their even harder to keep alive than the others. YIKES 🤯. Thank you so much for responding 👍✌👋
@@tropicalfishhub wonder if they just recently acquired the rio negro title. I even found old videos where they just say altums from rio negro without actually titled with " ". Definitely interesting enough to find out ✌

See now you got us all waiting for you to get the " pond" setup. 👋💙
Beautiful additions!
Thank you. I like them too!
Fantastic

@@markhaunert5029 Actually, I've started seeing red rio Negro Altums on stockists only recently. I guess they re from an area that is hard to get to
