@ I really don’t hate Bama. I root for my team and just like everyone else calls out the BS. In this case as hard as Tennessee got blown out by OSU You could say that they (Tennessee) took the spot from the CFP from Bama.
Let's talk about that bama and Oklahoma game and the supposed blow out all these people talk about. Football is all about momentum alabama had two touchdown taken off the score board and the announcers or the replay guy couldn't explain why the touchdowns was taken alabama got screwed just to put other teams in the playoffs
The regular season should matter. SOS, SOR, FPI, and other metrics should matter ,including winning or LOSING conference championship games. Losing a conference championship game and having it count isnt punishment, it is called a body of work. If a team has shown that they cannot beat a top 25 team ALL season long, what makes one think it will change in the playoffs. People are upset because the committee didn't take all of the data into consideration. Taking an easy path to the playoffs should matter as well. Bama had losses to 3 SEC teams on the road, and with Oklahoma coming off of a bye week, with a 16th rank SOS. Obviously, the opportunities to have a loss is greater than a team with bottom feeder level of competition. Calling Bama's losses bad and overlooking losses to lesser ranked teams is disingenuous at best. Other than 3 losses in the conference, Bama bet 3 top 20 teams before the post-season. What other teams in the playoffs did that? All the SEC needs to do is include top B1G and ACC teams in to different named conference and have their own league. Bring back divisions (north south, east and west)and have their own playoff and championship game.
SEC is 28-26 vs. ACC last five years. SEC is a myth . They rank all those team in preseason ranking then they play each other and say we the best. You see what happens when they had to up north in big ten weather. Tennessee now knows
@randysmith1781 WRONG😆 in just the last 4 years the SEC vs ACC record is 31-17 and 7-2 in bowl games. I dare you to go back further, lol. Ohio State has a $20 million roster against a Tennessee team that got in because Bama and Ole Miss lost a 3rd game. 2 SEC teams left, time will tell. I don't think there should be preseason rankings. They should start after the 1st full week and continue week to week based on SOS, SOR, FPI, PPG, Game control, Defensive and Offensive statistics against the strength of their opponents. Remove conference championship auto bids and byes, and bring back conference divisions. Some teams got in this year playing the weakest of their conference opponents.
@Buckeye0103, no one is crying. Just pointing out flaws in a playoff system in which the B1G got 4 teams in, that were frauds, no one said Tennessee was one of the best teams in the SEC. They were a beneficiary of other teams losing games that they should have won. It makes you feel good to say it doesn’t it? People someone think only losses matter to certain teams and wins only matter when convenient. I guess we’ll see how cocky you are at the end of the post-season.
The committee members aren't movie directors. Its not there job to create compelling games that are going to all end in last minute field goals. Given the criteria that was given the committee didn't do a bad job
It's not the committee's fault Smu Clemson and Indiana lost the way they did. That's on all those teams. They didn't show up and they didn't play better. The committee didn't make them play bad. You can't blame the committee for those losses. You have to blame the teams for those losses.
@lil_unholy7862 no the 4 team playoff was still an issue.... it should just be 8.... even when it was 4, there were still issues there were still blowouts. People are going to complain about playoffs in college football and pro football. No matter what, there's always gonna be people complaining about something.
No it's there fault for expanding the conference. At some point your going to play the bottom half look at Oregon next year if they win out is it going to be a wash?
It is not the teams that recruited better that won , but the teams that had the most NIL money to spend on players. That is it in a nutshell. Tennessee just doesn’t have the money to buy an elite team at this point. Alabama. Lost to two weak teams and so did the other SEC teams that didn’t get in. The worst might be Ole Miss the biggest whiner, who lost 3 and to a 1 sec win team, Kentucky. Stop the whining.
Or Alabama could beat either Vanderbilt or Oklahoma. Losing to two .500 teams in the same season, BADLY to one of them, is a good way to get bounced from the playoff field.
It's interesting how he brought up TCU, who beat Michigan, but got obliterated by Geogia that same year 65-7. But they were 13-2 that year. Lol SMU,Boise state, Arizona state , and Indian are this year's TCU
We should just go back to the 90s where our betters just anointed the National Champion. That way an undeserving or lucky team can’t win when they shouldn’t. Because if they did win the National Champion wouldn’t be the “best” team.
Finebaum sounds like a dummy, He keeps saying Indiana beat a bunch of no-bodies well they beat the current national champions in Michigan, I wouldn't say they are a no-body. He calls teams frauds when the biggest frauds in the first round were Tennessee who got blown off the park in an embarrassing fashion. This clown needs to be pulled off the air, he's living in the past when the Big bad SEC did have all the talent, now with NIL the talent is spread around more than anytime in the past 20 yrs
@EJ2K095 I disagree with your argument, but that's not the point. This guy is defending the committee now but last year there was a large consensus who believed the committee got things wrong. That's the issue.
@kevinscott59 that's fine if you disagree. FSU, although undefeated, seemed more like this years Indiana(which I think was an attempt to correct their choice from last year) One could argue that the B1G got 4 teams in from the preseason rankings and the committee chair being the Michigan AD, but I digress lol. I think everyone is tired of the inconsistent subjectivity, lack of logic, and convenient use of statistics to support their decisions.
So let's just secede from the association and have our own national championship because the other conferences can't compete with the SEC. Pretty soon every team will want to be in the SEC. What is there in PAC besides Oregon. How vacant is the ACC. The Big Ten is no longer ten. SEC is the powerhouse. The other conferences only matter negligibly. Ole Miss matters more to me than the drivel in the playoffs and I don't even live in the south. So go ahead and crap on me. I expect it. Go Irish.
Their games don't matter, hell they playing a weak schedule, if we going to do that,ok,don't cry, when the SEC goes 6 conference games and 6 cupcakes games, college football is a copycat league, when everyone starts playing soft schedule then what, get out of here with that,we not telling teams to join the SEC,just add some better teams on their schedule, stop being scared 😂
Ari is an idiot! What about who Alabama beat versus who Smu and Indiana beat? We need a power rating system like basketball already has. Because most of you fools do not understand best team! Ari, listened to him, made no sense as he blamed Bama trying to be in. He forgot that Ar St and Clemson did not deserve, but got auto bids, so where is the Bama bias. I want the best 12, I don’t care who they are, but not deserving. Ari is just not smart. He looks at wins and loses, numbers, not understanding the schedule is more important than the numbers. Games matter, but if you dot play Tenn, Georgia, but play no one, does the undefeated team seem better. Well this weekend proved my point, you play no one and you get destroyed by someone, is this the football you want? Participation trophy?

@@Buckeye0103 I agree, look at the loses, but then look at the wins. 3-1 against top 25 teams. Ind and SMU are 0-4 against top 25 teams, getting blown out. @@mnshws12 really? you based all that on just because they beat Georgia? so the math is beat Georgia and the three losses are forgotten??? so Alabama really didn’t need to play anyone after they beat Georgia.

Ari's argument is shredded entirely by the outcomes of the first four playoff games. The fact is that there aren't 12 playoff-worthy teams in college football. Most years, we are lucky if there are four. The scoreboard doesn't lie.
@Teller580 I'll say it again, so maybe you'll finally read it, in some years under the 4 team playoff, there weren't even four teams good enough to play for the NC. I don't care how many teams are in - it could be 64 - but the fact remains there aren't 12 teams that can compete for the NC this year, and maybe never.
@franktatom1837 Your point which I read is not clear as to whether or not you're saying that because not many teams are actually capable of winning the championship that we need to limit the playoffs to 4 teams or less or are you fine having a 12 team or more playoff in which "not many teams have a chance.."?Also, many of the 16 teams in the NBA playoffs aren't good enough to win the championship nor are all the 14 teams in the NFL playoffs good enough to win a championship & most of the 64 NCAA Basketball teams in the tournament aren't good enough to win the championship but for decades we let all those teams in those playoffs so no reason we can't have 12 or 14 teams in college football playoffs.
