so... a couple things
the game calls Belhifet a demon but he's a devil, and while he is exiled from Baator (the nine hells) because of his conflict with Yxonumei he is definitely not a demon.
yes I am using my party from Baldur's Gate II using approximations of their stats without spending an hour to re-roll because BG2 companions have bonkers stats. yes I know that the events of Baldur's Gate and the time of troubles that preceded it are about a century after the events of Icewind Dale making Viconia the only viable party member here as she was alive just before the fall of house Devir. do I care? no? was it awesome to export the voice line files and cobble together voice sets for the characters in IwD? yes. was if awesome that I got the BG2 paper dolls to work in IwD? also yes.
if you have a lore problem with my party you can suck my AD&D 2nd ED cleric's overpowered memorized spell list
also fun lore note Abdel Adrian (the canonical hero of Baldur's Gate) and his party defeat Belhifet in his realm some years later permanently ending the devil, which is funny because I used my BG2 hero and her party for the fight.
