I know Matt has been working on improving his singing but I'm not feeling these opera vocals. I honestly think he was at his best during In Waves and Vengeance Falls.
Everybody is commenting about "Matt's vocals here suck" or "I'm glad they don't play stuff from The Crusade, this sucks!". Ok first of all, stop being a dumb elitist and go listen to Slayer. Second, this was only a year after Matt blew out his vocal chords, so he couldn't really scream or make his voice sound raspy. The Crusade and this song are very good imo. If you don't have anything good to say about this performance, then go somewhere else. No reason to be negative.

I haven't listened to this song for almost 10 years, and now I hear this live version and ask - WTF is this? Is this some kind of kiddies playground metal? Where have the vocals disappeared? He sounded like James back then and song had a punch to it, now it sounds like it's a 3 years old birthday party song...
@Shane not much he can do about his voice? He literally sang it like it was a pop song, and on top of that he has added an accent. He literally could do those 2 things differently in order to sound like this song is meant to sound...
Seriously man how hard is it to record a live track where you can hear a decent balance between the guitars. It can’t be that hard, literally you can just record straight out from the mixer and probably get a better live sound that this.
So many people complaining that his new singing style sounds bad... And completely misses the fact that an actual singing voice makes this song sound like ass.
I really wish Matt would growl again. At least sing the old stuff properly. Trivium is full of badass musicianship and always will be but these vocals on this song live? Nah dude, I'd be pissed if I paid for that ticket. I want Trivium to sound like the band on the album. Puss out your voice on the new stuff. Besides the vocals the track jams.
He is screaming for 5 years again. But I get what youre saying, I still like the sound of this song and also from Becoming the Dragon. But there is that small feeling telling me why isnt it sounding like the album. But Trivium does sound great ether with matts old voice or with the new. My opinion

I think he can do most days, but the man plays so many shows that I think he has to default to cleans whenever he can. I’ve seen them live twice and he always scream sings on most of the songs. Sometimes he does sing like this though
matt got so boring at guitar , he doesn't even do the 5 string sweeps anymore. he is only focusing on the vocals . common if u want to be a better musician focus on both! and from what i understand matt has a warm up routine for the guitar but plays shit live , while corey just play random before the show and still plays really good. I just don't get it.

Vocals downright sucked! And when the fuck did "We are fire" become "We are THE fire"?! They sound like Twisted Sister thanks to it. 😂 And why does everything have to be in such fast tempo?! Wonderful work from paolo here, truly wonderful baseline and tone. His vocals are great here too, truly an underrated musician
Man. I forgot how Matt sounded when he was building his voice back up. Also Mat's snare sounds like a goddamn cannon
Palo's "we are the fire" added an interesting touch to the song
Paolo's new basses sound incredible. Can't touch that Warwick growl (y)
AnthonyPudduMusic It’s the fractal amp
no its kemper
I know!!! The tone is fuking beastly!
That’ll be the amp not the guitar itself
Funny to see how Matt when from James Hetfield to David Draiman.
Nowadays he has his own sound and I appreciate that.

Is he trying go sing like Michael Poulsen from Volbeat???
that guitar outro has immersed me.. very tight!!
Full show for the quarantine please!
Anthem the bass is fire
Love the Maiden influence in this song
THE CRUSADE !
I don't like vocals at all but damn that guitar work is pretty tight!

Matt ya no es el mismo, antes tenia vocales agresivos en vivo, ahora ya no..
Lamentablemente se jodio la garganta. No va a poder cantar como antes, pero es mejor tenerlo cantando por un largo tiempo que para nunca jamás.
good performance
I dunno... I kinda like the vocals here. They're a bit weird... which makes them cool.
