This book is killing me lol see that cross my mind did he fall for Priscilla because she was a brunette. She was cute and she reminded him of Lucy but it’s bugging me why she didn’t tell that that was his daughter because they could’ve kept it a secret they could’ve worked something out. He had a right to know, so I would’ve I would’ve said you gotta stay with Priscilla will figure something out but I would like her to know her dad but then that’s confusing too because she was with the other guy and then with the other guy get mad and leak it to the press that’s a good question. Even though I have had this book for 35 years, I am still enjoying so much your reading it. Btw, her son's name is Jacques, pronounced Zhahk. It's a common French name.
We definitely need this entire book re read with no interruptions with the way you do his voice. It’s such a beautiful love story. I would re listen to this episode every time I need tingles and to feel my heart explode when he found her. He never stopped looking for her, she was the one he could never have but his one true love. This is the most beautifully story I have ever heard. The second time she goes into hiding in 1958 and is believed to have died in a snow storm. But then even after 10 years he finds her. To keep searching for a lost love for that many years....... Hi Joe, the story of Lucy and Elvis is embraced by some while others feel highly offended. I find myself attempting to analyze this. Much of the anger seems to be on behalf of our Lisa Marie with her royal status as the only child of Elvis Presley threatened. As a “trophy” child we have learned through her own book, that the crown she wore was indeed heavy. I find myself asking what if Lisa Knew from the beginning about a sister. This is the greatest and saddest Love story ever told. I think Elvis met his match in Lucy. Her own charizma jumps right out of that book. This is one strong woman. Her story is remarkable in itself. Re: Lucy's statement in her 87' book about the Beaulieu's forcing the marriage vs. it being revealed in the 97' Child Bride book. I can't find any early articles in which the Beaulieu family wanted the marriage to happen prior to the writing of Lucy's 87' book. I did find a 72' Ladies Journal and a 73' Vogue article where Priscilla states the 'Colonel' pressured them to marry. Due to Morales Clause in his contract. There very well could be something out there prior to 87'. Idk. But, right now, I am seeing that as probably the most revealing statement in this book. I did stop researching every detail as I was finding the details of her life, marriages, locations she lived, deaths etc. to be acurate and well documented. Desiree may not feel compelled to prove it because she knows it, but the denial or rather dismissal, of ANY DNA matches being out there, will be my hold up with this story. (We, 100%, do not need his, Riley's, Billy's or Danny's to prove it) You share DNA to other living humans even without your mother's or father's DNA, in any system.
You've stated what has gone through my mind over & over about the DNA, but I guess I came a believer in this because of so many of the places and times that were not relevant to others have now become somewhat proven that they existed in that time with Elvis being in the area. If you think this is mind boggling, look up the article Elvi's Presley's Date at the White House. It states that Elvis actually went to Washington DC to find Joyce Bova, a woman he had an affair with on and off for 2 and a half years.She was a staffer on Capital Hill. They last saw each other in Vegas in Aug 1969. Joyce stormed out of the suite after a fight with Elvis. The article explains how they reconnected and spent time together. Joyce wrote a book, Don't Ask Forever: My Love Affair with Elvis She claims she was pregnant with Elvis child and they both agreed to abort the child. He also told her how he felt about women after they gave birth. There are many pictures 6f them together while there aren't any with Lucy.What's questionable is the fact that Lucy said Elvis came to see her when he was in Washington DC. We all know that Elvis had many women, but he was seeing several at the same time, all while he was married to Priscilla. He just couldn't be faithful to anyone. You are so right! Elvis was making the rounds. Look up his affair with Joyce Bova from 1969-72. He asked her to marry him too. She was pregnant with his child and had an abortion. He went to find her in DC after a fight with Vernon and Priscilla. Joyce worked for the government and Elvis went to reconnect with her. President Nixon was an afterthought. Her story coincides with Lucy's. I guess he slept with both women on that trip to DC! There are so many cracks in these stories. Who knows what to believe. From looking at public record Lucy’s visit had to be Thursday Aug 17th or Thursday Aug 24th ( I think it was the 24th) from last min decision to record at RCA on the 22nd and 23rd. Remember Elvis changed plans to see Lucy from Wednesday to Thursday. Did Dary check records at Beverly Hills Hotel for a John Jones during August 1967? Back then everything was on paper, perhaps would have still been available. Elvis was back in Memphis last week in August

No. Elvis asked for a separation in the 7th month of pregnancy. Sorry, I don't believe for a second that Lucy was his first. Maybe he had another girl hidden. Why not? This is a heartbreaking story because, IF true, she deceived Elvis and never told him about his (alleged) daughter and she intentionally kept her daughter from ever knowing her (alleged) father. They could’ve worked something out, but but if her husband at that time find out, would he leaked it to the press that would’ve been a freaking mess for Elvis and then her kids to the second guy, then they would’ve been upset. Another observation, while promoting her book, she is being interviewed by two frenchmen. They speak to her in French and she answers in French but she is not fluent so they add some English for her. Hi Joe, the story of Lucy and Elvis is embraced by some while others feel highly offended. I find myself attempting to analyze this. Much of the anger seems to be on behalf of our Lisa Marie with her royal status as the only child of Elvis Presley threatened. As a “trophy” child we have learned through her own book, that the crown she wore was indeed heavy. I find myself asking what if Lisa Knew from the beginning about a sister. That scenario could have yielded some comfort for Lisa. We will never know, of course, but I do know that Lisa sure needed someone in her life who acted as ally. ❤️

I pulled out my Elvis Day by Day- The definitive record of Elvis Presley. Monday August 21st Elvis finishes looping on set of Speedway and after lunch has makeup tests for next picture Stay Away Joe. On Tuesday Aug 22nd Elvis is released from Speedway. Elvis is scheduled for two nights recording at RCA studio A on Tuesday and Wednesday night!!!! This could be reason Elvis changed plans last minute from Wednesday to Thursday. It stands to reason if suddenly he is released from Speedway they book last minute sessions at RCA for the non soundtrack release as described in book. Fits the time line perfectly.

I can't find any early articles in which the Beaulieu family wanted the marriage to happen prior to the writing of Lucy's 87' book.
I did find a 72' Ladies Journal and a 73' Vogue article where Priscilla states the 'Colonel' pressured them to marry. Due to Morales Clause in his contract.
There very well could be something out there prior to 87'. Idk. But, right now, I am seeing that as probably the most revealing statement in this book.

From my observations, of only the Phil Donahue show, Desiree appeared to be completely calm, well adjusted, polite, unfazed and accepting that she is his daughter. The same with Lucy. Even when drilled by the audience.
They never wanted anything or any more money from him. So, why would they do this?
Also, the other children? What are their positions in this? It is revealing to me that not one has ever came forward to discount the story. So, now we have a seven person, life long conspiracy? Not possible in my mind.
And the DNA? ...the DNA. In 2024. Desiree would show as a 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th cousin or half cousin to every surname in the Smith, Presley line going back in time. Even if you do not know your father, you will have thousands and thousands of cousins that can be excluded from your maternal line. The programs used today will differentiate for you maternal vs paternal. Not having his DNA does not matter.
I have an adopted Great grand grandmother on my paternal side. No DNA from my dad in the data base but I can see her entire family and make the connections because of all the cousins I share DNA with. I know her grandparents, her siblings, etc. because I am 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, even half, cousins with people which lead back to common ancestors.
Dary discounts public websites and the ability to make the Presley DNA connection without his DNA. Science proves this is not correct. There are 1000's of Presley cousins out there. Proven because they share DNA. It would have to be a 20k, 30k, 40k, 50,0000, world wide conspiracy over numerous databases. Simply impossible. Desiree may not feel compelled to prove it because she knows it, but
the denial or rather dismissal, of ANY DNA matches being out there, will be my hold up with this story. The science does not lie nor can it be dismissed. There are absolutely thousands of living Presley descendants with Presley DNA in them. (We, 100%, do not need his, Riley's, Billy's or Danny's to prove it)

If you think this is mind boggling, look up the article Elvi's Presley's Date at the White House. It states that Elvis actually went to Washington DC to find Joyce Bova, a woman he had an affair with on and off for 2 and a half years.She was a staffer on Capital Hill. They last saw each other in Vegas in Aug 1969. Joyce stormed out of the suite after a fight with Elvis. The article explains how they reconnected and spent time together. Joyce wrote a book, Don't Ask Forever: My Love Affair with Elvis She claims she was pregnant with Elvis child and they both agreed to abort the child. He also told her how he felt about women after they gave birth. There are many pictures 6f them together while there aren't any with Lucy.What's questionable is the fact that Lucy said Elvis came to see her when he was in Washington DC. We all know that Elvis had many women, but he was seeing several at the same time, all while he was married to Priscilla. He just couldn't be faithful to anyone. Fame, fortune, drugs and affairs is not an easy lifestyle. It all caught up with him!

Still not saying whether I agree or disagree with this book. What I will say is that "before" Elvis (allegedly) called Lucy, in 7/67 Elvis went to see Ann-Margret and got down on bended knee and told her that he still felt the same way about her. Is Elvis making the rounds, as he's so unhappy in his marriage?
• "She [Prissy] liked me for a person and not a star." - Well, Elvis knew better than that. Elvis told Kathy W. that he always knew that Prissy "never" loved him and "always" wanted the Hollywood fame."
• "All he had was the girl in Germany." - Not true, he was engaged to Anita and continued to see her until she walked out on him."
• "Her parents were getting pretty mad," and that was said before "Child Bride." - "Elvis & Me" was written in 1985. Prissy was on Barbara Walters, which was a national syndicated show, in 1985 discussing her book, etc. She talked about the Colonel and the marriage, etc., if I recall right. Prissy went on many talks shows promoting her book.

You are so right! Elvis was making the rounds. Look up his affair with Joyce Bova from 1969-72. He asked her to marry him too. She was pregnant with his child and had an abortion. He went to find her in DC after a fight with Vernon and Priscilla. Joyce worked for the government and Elvis went to reconnect with her. President Nixon was an afterthought. Her story coincides with Lucy's. I guess he slept with both women on that trip to DC!
There are so many cracks in these stories. Who knows what to believe.

Remember Elvis changed plans to see Lucy from Wednesday to Thursday. Did Dary check records at Beverly Hills Hotel for a John Jones during August 1967?
Back then everything was on paper, perhaps would have still been available. Elvis was back in Memphis last week in August

No. Elvis asked for a separation in the 7th month of pregnancy. Sorry, I don't believe for a second that Lucy was his first. Maybe he had another girl hidden. Why not? This is a heartbreaking story because, IF true, she deceived Elvis and never told him about his (alleged) daughter and she intentionally kept her daughter from ever knowing her (alleged) father. The fact that it was the 50s, 60s, etc. does not justify her actions. It simply was cruel.

Another observation, while promoting her book, she is being interviewed by two frenchmen. They speak to her in French and she answers in French but she is not fluent so they add some English for her. She was a French interpreter for dignitaries. She should be able to do an interview in French with no trouble.

Could he havd visted Lucy in that time frame

What about Anita Joe , why couldn’t Elvis have contacted Lucy instead he was fully captivated with Anita , Elvis was asking to meet her ‘ not Lucy but…Anita 😂That Elvis was as changeable as the wind 😂 Anita knew Elvis’s momma, Gladys was alive whenever Anita was involved, l even heard that ( little)nickname he gave Anita “ lived there at Graceland for a while, didn’t know that before but yeah she must have been there when Gladys n Vernon were there at Graceland ! this information was heard l think from, we defend Elvis the time frame of Gladys being alive and knowing Anita was 57- when did Elvis think that Lucy was dead? is another time frame Joe ‘ l can’t remember dates very well 😮
