Get goosebumps , i was 17 yrs old when this joint came out lol life was great
It’s crazy how music can mentally bring you back to a certain point in time 😩
Seriously, sometimes I just put this music on and close my eyes and I swear I’m back there again...I can remember it all so vividly like it was yesterday 😭 felt like there wasn’t a care in the world, definitely nothing close to what we’re dealing with daily now
Hell yeah.
Truth
Forreal.
I know 😎😎thank you Jesus for the nostalgia
Jason Weaver was so slept on!!! Underrated talent!!! He straight murdered the chorus so effortlessly.
I agree, his voice is beautiful.
you beatiful
It’s insane to me that it was the older brother from the show Smart Guy I had to look him up because I didn’t recognize him by his real name He did have his own R&B group on the show but I never knew he didn’t in music in real life💯
He’s saying (Give me a call if you wanna come roll with me) but tell me it doesn’t sound like he’s saying (Thank God if you wanna come roll with me) I always thought that’s how it went💯🤔

It’s 2023 and J Weav doesn’t get enough credit for his vocals on this hook!!
its 2024 and I just thinking about this and kinda pissed his name isn't featured in the title.
The fact that Jason recorded his hook while filming Drumline is just... wow... give this man his flowers 🌸
Exactly 💗
Man Jason Weaver is such a beast he has done so much music and acting he deserves so much more credit reminds me of a Jamie Foxx typa dude Underrated beast!!
He recorded this on his lunch break while filming Ladykillers not Drumline, still dope though
Right exactly 💯
@@ChrisBasdeo I will forever remember him as Marcus on Smart Guy. However the dude really deserves alot more credit in the music industry.
Jason weaver on the chorus was just the right touch, he effortlessly killed it, and not only can he sing but he is super humble and kind with a heart of gold ♥️😫
That's cuz he's from the Chi😘

Honestly aged 40 I cry to know that mid 90's to early 2000's was the best fucking time for music like this tune!
Honestly such a nostalgia moment 😔
Maaaan, takes me back to the early 2000's. I was a 16 year old baby-faced kid without a care in the world except playing basketball, video games, and trying to get girls numbers, lol. Now im 31, married, and have a kid of my own....crazy how time flies, sort of scary honestly.
Thats why we must always stay true to who we really are and time we m9ve at your paste

You have to love how UA-cam is the closest thing to a time machine we have..
real shit.
💝😊
I think that too when I watch tv and they play reruns after reruns of artists, tv presenters, even journalists when they were young and now they're dead, but you can see them pretty much at any age on tv and it gets kinda creepy at some point...
[Edit] not tryna bring down the mood or anything 😅
Stolen! $##!!t
And tik tok I was like ill be damned I haven't heard this shit in years. Let me look it up.
You better sang, Jasonnnnnnn! I love this song. So nostalgic! 2003! I was in my sophomore year of college when this came out. Every time I hear this, it takes me right back to age 20. Early 2000s...what a time to be alive. 🎉❤

Brought here from Jason Weaver's Strong Black Legends Interview with Tracy Clayton where he details how Capital Record execs didn't want him on the song, but Ludacris and his partner Poon fought for him and they still try to leave him off the 'feature credit' till this day lol...crazy. They lied to Chingy and said Jason was too busy to tour or didn't want to be in the performances for years...absolutely dirty and crazy...Salute to Jason for always working
I just came from that interview right now too. Somethan he left out and rarely talks about. He did a feat hook in 2000 with Sole.."It wasn't me" song. He was feat on the album version but not the radio version in which Ginuwine was singing the hook. The song was actually a decent hit record. But Just like in the Chingy situation, he was replaced with a more popular rnb artist. It seems in the Sole situation he never fought for it. I'm curious on why not!
YEP!!
literally havent even finished the interview, had to come check in i realy love this song so to hear that story is like whoa and they hoed JWeave in the video he coulda got more screen time
same thing here i just watched the interview and didn't even finish it went right to the song.

Best Era Ever 🔥
A few years back in Toronto I used to play this composition often - there was a girl with a real cute ass that I wanted to mack and this encouraged me to do so. She was in the choir club and really sumptous. There were a lot of people interested in her, but I knew she really liked me. She was in the same band as me in high school. She definitely knew the Francais horn well. 😇

Oh how the times have changed... These were the days. Songs with good vibes and decent rappers not singing bout the same shit. Miss these Days. RIP HIP-Hop 1990-2008. Shits makin a rebirth soon tho I can feel it.
It never died, it ws just suffocated and supressed by the radio stations because of the dance/beat snap era.
Change is necessary tho because now everyone seems to have a greater appreciation for talented artist and in a way it raised the bar for new artists and established artists.
The hell you talkin bout' 1990-2008? 05-08 was probably the worst era of rap with the emergence of platinum selling ringtone rap, and one hit wonders. I believe hip hop is definitely in a good space right now though.
05-08 had bangers and had more of a southern flavor to it. It was music you played when u where with friends fucking around in those hot summers and cold winters. Music now is just shit with a few exceptions like I said earlier.
MrStreetballer5 I swear you have to be young. It's funny because I remember back then when this song was out ('03/'04), So much hate was towards it and the South. People were saying it was 'dying' then. lol. '06-'07 was probably the worst time in Hip-Hop/Rap period. Yeah, sure, that time had (club) 'bangers' but there was no balance. You're stuck in nostalgia.
And stop with that played out "RIP Hip-Hop/Rap" line. It never died. It went underground. Nowadays it has gotten better. Not better than '00-'05, but it is a lot better then where it was.
Lets just reiterate when I say hip-hop is dead I'm referring to mainstream hip-hop. Underground hip-hop is going through a golden age rn with many underground labels coming together and such. Also I never said this song itself I'm referring to the overall songs that came out during that period of time.
God fucking damnit! Jason Weaver is so talented! Absolutely killed this track. He needs to do more movies and more music.
Miss these days of music. This shit was my ringtone.
The one time I changed my voicemail back in the early 2000 from Notorious Thugs to Chingy. That Young Love Stupid Phase. 😂

Taking me back to the 2003 jams! 😊 Jason Weaver low key could really sing, & Keyshia looked so pretty in this video.
All who before they went to school in the morning turn in their tv to BET or MTV for the music videos. It was 20 years but it feel like yesterday. I genuinely miss these. So if you are a teenager don't worry about growing up to quick enjoy the more simpler times of being a teenagers because you are only that once. Jesus said Never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Each day has enough of its own troubles. Thus dont be to anxious about tomorrow in such a way that it robs you of the joys that you have today.
