Beautiful cat and beautiful interview……I had the privilege to have a zoom lesson with Jerry in 2020 and he is the most humble man…..and such a wealth of knowledge that he loved to share…..he is simply the GOAT

Awesome interview! Jerry is a walking history book! So informed, humble, knowledgeable, spiritual and great to see his kindness, willingness to share and his love of music! Monk asked good thoughtful questions as well!. Thank you to both of you, very inspiring and great way to get to know an important personality in jazz! I have been listening to Jerry's recordings and watching videos, but haven't seen him in person yet, hope to in the future!

Jerry on choosing teaching over doing gigs he doesn't like, 'I'd rather be talking about the music I love than doing something else'. This sounds legit to me. If you follow the money in jazz now, it looks like a pyramid teaching scheme, but Jerry's take is authentic and true. I still love his playing with Brubeck from the 70s and 80s, those lines and his sound, wow, he had huge talent from the start.

Thanks for your comment on Jerry's session. I made note of his comment about finding a way to support "your gig habit." Honest advice. btw, You might enjoy our new podcast, “Jazz Backstory,” available wherever you get your podcasts.

I like Jerry and have a lot of respect for him, but believing in astrology is very anti-intellectual.
