So I have question. Pretty sure in the book Adam and Alyn are Laenor's bastards. Which that makes sense since they're able to become a dragon rider. Since Laenor is half Targaryen that would make sense ,But now the TV show made them Corlys' bastards, so how is Alyn gonna link up with seasmoke? I mean A. They have Valeryon blood not Targaryen. B. Laenor is still alive and bound to seasmoke and dragons can only have one rider at a time. So how the hell is this gonna work? Any thoughts?
I love the way they show the relationship between dragon and rider. The moments between Aegon and Sunfyre and then Rhaenys and Meleys make it hurt so much more 😢
And then there’s Aemond who basically just uses Vhaegar as a machine of war lmao Man I cannot wait to see vermithror in action, his design is so badass! I hope we at least get to see him fly a bit this season, if nothing else
The dragons are innocent it is there riders who are stupid. Also Sunfyre will be able to fly again cuz it will in the end kill moondancer and eat Rhaenyra.
I find it a bit strange that Vhagar who previously belonged to Laena Velaryon, daughter of Rhaenys on the Black's side, would just go ahead and kill Rhaenys and her dragon without any hesitation. Surely Meleys and Vhagar were hanging out together on Driftmark for many years, like family. Do dragon's memories just get completely wiped out when they get a new rider or what? --- I posted this in two other breakdown videos, bc I genuinely wanna know
She wasn't the queen of seven kingdoms but queen of our hearts❤️ RIP to Princess Rhaenys and Meleys💔 She was my fav character on the show and the chemistry between princess and the her dragon was mind blowing🥺 I knew it was coming but didn't know it would hit that hard💔 could've fled but she went out like a warrior ❤️
Epic...her acting in the scene with Corlys was masterful. She never let her eyes wander, and you could feel her fury and disappointment in her husband. As a man, I turned to my lady and trembled to think of the shame I would've felt.
@@817akamrtalktoomuch spot on! Although this makes me even more upset with the way they took her out on the show 😭😭 Her vast experience was on full display through how she absolutely dominated the other dragons, there’s no reality where she died the way she did in the show! With her kid’s both dead before her, her marriage now on thin ice, she should have been leaving the battlefield but then her snd Meleys share a look as if the dragon can read her mind, then Rhaenys says “you’re right ole girl, let’s do it”, and they turn back and do some kamikaze style attack to cripple Vhaegar and finish off Sunfyre, _fully knowing_ it’ll result in their deaths The badass ending a true badass deserved!
I would have hoped that she would have made a more wise decision and retreat but it felt like she was looking for death. I am tired of Vhagar’s suprise killings… They are unrealistic
@@vozzen Thank You! it is like people are in a trance... how is it that they don't see these obvious blunders... she brings Vhaegar to the ground, flighs back up and cant just go straight up and keep watch of Vhaegar?? Then Vhaegar walks on the ground trampling soldiers etc and STILL SHE DOESN'T SEE IT ?? then just flies looking around for a giant dragon that was ground bound ON A BATTLEFIELD... then out of nowhere Vhaegar suprises them ?? they couldn't have made it more realistic ?Vhaegar is bigger and badder, it shouldn't need the element of surprise, Meleys DOES... they could have done better and given us something alot more plausible in terms of what we know about those dragons...
Aegon yelling “thank the Gods!” after seeing his brother and seeing the relief in his eyes only to be immediately burned by Aemond made me fell some sort of way. Scar/Mufasa Lion King vibes.
@@amansinghrollno-7167People tend to forget that when Aemond was being teased as a child Aegon was the ringleader. I don't think Aemond ever forgave him for that.
@@rangisagar So sad for Aegon. He was pushed into this plan of madness and deceit. The throne didn't cut him because the realm accepted him. Not seen as a usurper.
Me too! 😭Does any know their battle history? I thought Rhaenys lives during an era of peace, and Meleys only had one other dragonrider, who also didn’t live during war.
I know. For one brief moment I felt sorry for him knowing what was about to happen. At least we find out that he is a true dragon because Meleys fire didn't hurt him.
It was hard to watch beautiful Sunfire being torn and burnt to flesh 😰😢 You had to feel for Aegon a little too. He greatly suffers being a king, and hurtful words mixed with the right amount of alcohol and stupidity pushed him over the edge😮💨
Rhaenys scene was so well done too, they did a great job of showing how she had the opportunity to retreat but instead stayed faithful to her duty and Rhaenyra and continued the fight she knew she couldn’t win. She stared death in the face and smiled
Her choice was stupid. She should have bounced after seeing Sunfyre fall. She ended up accomplishing nothing in the end and she cost the blacks their biggest and most experienced dragon. As far as I’m concerned, Rhaenys legacy is killing a bunch of innocent small folk instead of her enemies and then dying for no reason.
@@velvetalex4766 I’m going off what I’ve seen of her character in the show. I plan on reading the book after. I don’t get why everyone is painting this as some brave, heroic death? She saw the king and his dragon fall and she barely escaped her encounter with Vhagar. She should have just gone back to Rhaenyra. She accomplished nothing, and honestly I’m still mad at her for killing so many innocent people. Including here where she ands her dragon collapsed on and destroyed the castle they were supposed to be liberating.
@@velvetalex4766 are you gonna contribute anything interesting to this conversation? I mean, don’t spoil anything, but how am I wrong from what we’ve seen so far?
When Sunfyre nudged Aegon with his head and he smiled at his beautiful golden retriever dragon, my heart couldn't take it 😭 especially knowing what was to follow
I took Alicent trying to learn more about Aegon, the Prince that was promised, as a major display of both her guilt and uneasiness. She is searching for the story that Rhaenyra spoke about, the song of ice and fire. We know she always has a lot of guilt - confessing to Otto, moon tea, regularly attending the Sept, etc. She asks her maester if he believed Viserys wanted Aegon to succeed him. She also lashed out at Aegon and said that he should come to her for council. I think some of this boiled to the surface because she is upset that Viserys didn't share the "story" and more with her. She is unraveling, searching for justification and vindication more than just wanting to know the history.
I was okay with her dying, but I’m not a fan of how they executed it in the show. Princess Rhaenys is _SO_ valuable to the Black’s; she’s their most dangerous warrior (I believe her and Meleys have more experience than Daemon and Caraxes, and Meleys is bigger + the fastest dragon alive at the time), she always has the best intentions and council for the Queen, she has tons of allies as she’s well liked and respected, the list goes on. The green’s don’t have a single person like her. All of their dragon riders save Aemond have average dragons and *ZERO!!!* combat experience, literally if any of them die they can be replaced and it would barely make a difference. Whereas the Black’s (Rhaenys and Daemon specifically) are by far the most dangerous due to their experience and proficiency on dragon back. Vhaegar’s size is legit the only thing preventing the Black’s from steamrolling the greens lol. Anyways, with the aforementioned in mind, they should have made Rhaenys do some kamikaze style sacrifice. Her kids are dead, who knows what’s up with Corlys/their marriage; she always looks bummy and it seems the only reason she hasn’t already off’d herself is she sees herself in the Queen and wants to stick around to help. How the heck did Vhaegar even fit behind that tiny castle lol (sitting, maybe), and how did he get there that fast after falling onto the ground, meanwhile Meleys never stopped flying. Aemond has _zeerooooo_ legit combat experience against other dragons, let alone the most potent dragon/rider combo. Idk it just rubbed me the wrong way, especially after showing how she so easily dominated just beforehand. They should have had her and Meleys share a look as if to say “alright old girl, I agree, it’s time for us to leave this world, snd let’s do it with a bang”, and then turn around and do some crazy shit _KNOWING_ they’re going to die doing it! If Rhaenys and Meleys are going to die, they’re going to do it of their OWN accord, not some jump scare. Also, the whole point of Vhaegar’s size is to make it OP through its sheer Fkn mass; how the hell are you going to make a mass monster kill people via sneak attacks, like come on man 😂😂
@@DropBear_42 I got the feeling that they DID exactly that when Rhaenys and Meleys are on their way leaving the castle and Rhaenys said in quite a sad way "Meleys attack" and they go back. She seems quite aware that it's suicidal to back once again as they are already weakened by the first fight between the tree of them. But she don't want to flee or be seen as a coward. She's better than that, no way Aemond thinks he made her flee. Even if that means her probable death.
For him to try to kill Aegon and Rhaenys at the same time in front of everybody seems highly unlikely; wouldn't he worry about people accusing him of treason? The way the events play out in this episode seems contrived
@@poshbo I agree. Very contrived. Rhaenys/Meleys getting caught in a surprise attack/ambush was also very unrealistic considering that both dragon and rider have had battle experience. In fact, one doesn't even need experience to know to avoid blind corners/turns. The show took shortcuts, and it insults the viewers' intelligence.
Abother foreshadowing of Sunfyre almost dying cause of Aegons drunken actions was how he pushed the golden pitcher with a dragon on the floor and then crushed it further with his own boot.
@@Aubrella11 She didn't start the war though. When she came forward and said that the king changed his mind, the small council already had planned to take over the second the king was dead and they left her completely out of it. She was shocked. So it was going to happen with or without her.
Sunfyre was damaged beyond repair (I suspect the fire from Vhaegar did not damage him as much as the bite wounds of Meleys, especially the wing wound) and without a dragon Aegon was even more useless. From Aemond point of view, it made sense.
@srdshukla4 Marilyn Monroe was an actress who took on roles that helped cement the sex icon image. That doesn't diminish her talent. And you are totally missing the comparison here. The comparison was "taking a piece of history and needlessly ruining it because of a selfish need to compare themself to the original" like Aegon II did with the Conqueror, just like Kim K did with Marilyn Monroe. Please take your small-minded, sexist thoughts somewhere else
@@thecro2060 Daemon either purposely didn’t strap in or he unfettered himself during the fight, whereas Aemond was tightly strapped in. This is what allowed Daemon to end the fight the way he did while also creating the possibility of his survival, as Aemond’s body was discovered to still be in the dragon’s bridle but Daemon was nowhere to be found! _”what a twiiiiist!”_ - Robot Chicken
I also find it funny that Aegon chose Ser Criston as his Hand of The King. Just for Ser Criston to go behind Aegon’s back anyway and inform Aemon of all the war plans taking place without Aegons Knowledge. This is all sorts of messed up 😂 Then the scene when Ser Criston comes across Aegons burning and critically injured body and drops to his knees and you see Aemon just walk off thinking “Oh give me a damn break NOW you care about Aegon, let’s not pretend we love Aegon now” 😂
Rhaenys was a real OG and when she said to Rhaenyra to send her and Meleys to Rook’s Rest I was already in tears. She fought a great fight and died a Dragon Rider’s death! Rhaenys and Meleys went out like some real bad ass OGs. Long live the Queen 👸🏼 🤍that Never Was & The Red ❤Queen 👑
Writers did her dirty. She was incompetent from start to finish in that battle. Spotted miles away on an overcast day. Could've gotten all the way in the clouds or use the cover of the cliffs, tree line and castle to hide her approach from below. She completely ignored the blatantly obvious larger force standing in the tree line. Should've started attacking there to cut off vanguard retreat and cause chaos to Cole and the main force. Possibly forcing them to retreat or March out immediately into the open field to escape the inferno. Retreat ends the battle before the dragons show up. Advancing immediately would allow for her to amass thousands of more casualties and probably kill Cole, which was the whole point of her going. She missed an open shot on Aegon when attacking from above. And then not realizing the only place vhagar could be hiding is below the cliffs is inexcusable for how she is portrayed. Battle experienced tactician and expert dragon rider that falls for the same sneak attack from below a child and baby dragon did in season 1. Real "dany forgot about the iron fleet" vibes. Bad writing and anticlimactic end to a good character.
@@Clue96 I didn't mind her dying. Knew it was coming from the books. The writers wanted to be different from the books and make the battle longer, which I'm fine with for tv. But like I said the tv show riders fumbled the bag a bit. I enjoyed the visuals and the episode overall. But the way she went out was bad. Could've had a flashback to her escaping the pit or when Daemon wanted to kill vhagar immediately and then have her look at meleys and say something like "he may have been brash, but he had a point. Let's end this madness here and now" or "let us fix our mistake". Then have her die in a clash with vhagar similar to in the books. Not some cheap tactic that makes old giant slow moving vhagar look like a ninja.
About this episode, I like that HBO changed the storyline. Instead of Rhaenys, Aemond tries to kill Aegon II and steals the Valyrian steel dagger from him. This might lead Aemond to discover Aegon the Conqueror’s Song of Ice and Fire dream and think he's the Prince That Was Promised. But I don't get how Vhagar’s huge size can always play hide and seek and win the battle-it doesn't make sense at all. RIP Meleys and Princess Rhaenys. 😭
THIS PART!! like I get it you gotta get there, but there's no reason and no way that Vhagar can be the biggest yet manage to be so quiet and able to hide and sneak around like that's twice they've had her do that like that's literally impossible
I love that they showed Aegon not being fluent in High Valyrian. Because up until now, pretty much all Targaryen rulers knew High Valyrian very well. This showing him more as Aegon the Pretender was so good
Comparing that to Jace last season, practicing the language and telling his own mother he won’t stop until he gets it right, because that’s what a king does.
My theory for why the title screen does not changed for some episodes is because those episodes aren't "public knowledge" episodes. They are important of course, but they are important FOR US, the audience, but the common folk would have no idea, or no way to know about those events. Say the brothers killing each other, that's a "closed doors" episode. However the dead of the prince is not. Rhaenyra and Alicent's secret meeting, not even in the books, but I love it anyway. And in this episode, the battle at Rook's Rest, tons of witnesses. You can see the pattern.
The actress who plays Rhaenys did a phenomenal job, I felt everything she had done or did or was doing when she was in the storyline. She literally crushed it along with her interactions with meleys, I felt all of her & meleys feelings and was not happy when they went down, her character along with her dragon brought a lot to the red & black council/team. I really think she would’ve made a great queen of the seven kingdoms.
@@ll2323 I haven't yet watched the episode because I'm not sure I can take that part (although I know what happens). I'm also upset because Meleys went into it all by herself. If Caraxes or Seasmoke had been there to help, things might have turned out differently.
The only thing you could accuse Rhaenys for is that she didn't fully utilize Meleys speed advantage - she could have outmaneuvered the slow past-prime Vhagar by doing multiple quick attacks from different directions! When Vhagar was on the ground vulnerable, she should have burned Aemond from above and then going for Vhagar's neck...
Sunfyre deserved so much more! I started sobbing when he booped aegon and then he set Sunfyre up for failure 😫 when Meleys tore him up, and then falling because of his damaged wing I was done😫😫
That scream that sunfyre let out 😭 and that fall to the ground broke my heart. Same with Meleys and Rhaenys. I think I’m going to be sad for the next week 😞
Like they didn't need to add that they could've ignored it especially because it doesn't make sense... "A Targaryen must sit on the iron throne to beat the night king" yet a Targaryen wasn't on the throne when they defeated the night king... "The dragons wouldn't go past the wall..." Yet we seen them go past it with no problem to go straight to where the night king was like it's just dumb I get wanting to fix it but the dumbass twins already fucked it up just let it lie
The only reason you say that is because the show made Aegon a shit character. Aemond is a phony and he always has been. He FAFO and Daemon showed him what’s up
Maybe my memory is failing me but I feel even more crushed by these deaths than GoT ever did. I hate seeing these dragons die even though we know they’ll all fall in the end
I liked how aegon dropped a golden cup that broke on the floor before he left to battle. Probably a reference of sunfyre falling and being broken after.
Thank you for connecting “you’re gonna die here” to a Damon vs Aemond fight later in the story that non-book readers know nothing about and thereby absolutely spoiling a huge part of the ending with no warning. Great stuff
People complaining about Aemond holding back don't seem to have caught that Aemond wanted Aegon dead. I disagree with Charlie -- Aemond figured Rhaenys would win that fight, or that it would provide an opportunity for Aemond to take them both out.
The worst part with Aegon is the fact that he wanted nothing to do with being king and knew Rhaenyra was the rightful heir. Then, they tell him to do nothing while also telling him he can not be good to the common folk. And THEN... once he goes off to fight because Otto and Alicent got his son murdered... (smh) they wanna bitch and moan
Aegon isn't a good person (but none of the characters really are...they are all shades of gray), but I think he wanted to be a good king, at least initially. He did try to help the smallfolk and was blocked from it. He was making attempts to be actively involved in the ruling of his kingdom. He definitely seemed to love his kids with Helaena, and grieved openly at the loss of his son. The problems he had, in my opinion, is that he is only seen as a pawn to move around the chessboard by other people...and he never really learned how to be King or how to do anything other than be a whoring, drinking fool. He does seem to truly love Sunfyre and Sunfyre loves him. I don't like Aegon and the Greens, but Aegon definitely isn't being treated at all like a King should be. The way everyone talks to him, around him, and treats him like he's nothing..is the main reason he flew Sunfyre to war.
Are you guys really that upset that the guy who was beating his meat out of a window and assaulted that girl on his staff in season 1 isnt being respected? Idk ever since then I never had much sympathy for him
Sunfyre ends up in 2 more duels and wins both of them in the books. Aegon 2 also ends up in at least one more dragon duel on sunfyre, He doesn't lose his legs in the first fight,, but the second. it takes him a year to recover from the burns he gets and Sunfyre still needs to collect a lot more scars. The Second duel is also the one that messes up Sunfyre's wing beyond all repair. I do hope we get to see those, cause Sunfyre actuall survives and wins all the fights He gets into, it's just his wounds aren't given enough time to heal.
Rhaenys was not going for the kill unlike the Hightower brothers. Notice that instead of Sunfyre's wing she could easily smoke Aegon and she chose not to. Meleys did not use dragon breath a single time. I think this is because dragon breath cannot kill dragons but it will definitely burn the rider. I think Rhaenys was just attempting to neutralize the dragons and her lack of ruthlessness cost her in the end. As shown from before she never intended to kill her family members but just neutralize the dragons to make the Greens weaker. ughhhhhh
I have read the book, I knew what to expect and I still bawled my eyes out. This episode shook me for real. Rhaenys was such a queen, the queen who never was but deserved to be, more than anyone. I'll miss her so much and I'll miss Eve Best. Outstanding performance! ❤❤❤
Alicent dropping the dragon sculpture and breaking (the wing broke off) could be foreshadowing of Aegon and his dragon. Meleys also bit Sunfyre’s wing and it lit on fire too.

i couldn’t stop laughing at alicent verbally whipping aegon, poor guy 🤣
@@vizalloteafilter no i do feel bad for aegon, he’s so insecure and vulnerable here, actually trying to seek counsel and even calling alicent “mother” which he never does… it was just funny how savage alicent is this whole scene. “what thoughts would you have?” “do what’s expected of you, nothing” like damn ma 😂 i would’ve gotten tf outta there too
The actual tragedy is the dragons killing each other with all the relationships they have had throughout their lives . The fact that Baelon’s dragon killed Alyssa’s dragon😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
@@lordlibralibralore7992 yeah, Vhagar previous rider was Laena Velaryon, Daemon's second wife. There's an episode where both on Vhagar and Caraxes flying together... and later would kill each other at Battle Above The God's Eye in the future
Great recap, though I disagree with your assessment of Aemond's decisions and motivations. Aemond wants to be king; he can foresee the disaster of Aegon's leadership. Aemond sees himself as a kind of philosopher-king. He held back and fired at his brother deliberately. You mentioned this as a possibility; I think it was being portrayed as a nigh-definite motivation.
Aemond is my favorite character and I feel he definitely meant to burn his brother and he was gonna kill him before christon Cole yelled out to him. There was no reason for him to have his sword out to recover his brother then when he knows he's not alone he puts his sword away and walks away.
Last 15 mins was lit.. Armies getting ready at rook’s rest with Rhaenyra telling about song of ice and fire in the background, Rhaenys getting on Meleys 🥲 we all knew how this ends yet it was heartbreaking to watch. Queen that never was🔥🤘🏻
been saying it everywhere but seeing Aegon flying sunfyre without high valyrian (and just in general because he was really bad at it) reminded me of a college rich kid driving a sports car. i did like his relationship with him though it was very cute. Also imagine the poor dude who surrendered and bent the knee at one of the smaller fights just to be the victim of dragon warfare here

I straight up cried hearing Sunfyre cry in pain, loved the scenes of him and Rhanys mounting their dragons. I love the idea of the bond formed between rider and mount! Aemond is playing the game of thrones for real.
When Aemond is staring at the dagger it looks like he may be seeing a glimpse of writing on it due to the dragon fire from the battle and his fall. Not enough to make out what it says but enough to learn something is there and how to read it.
This was such a beautiful episode. Like I kept saying wow. The shots. The way the soldier disintegrated when Cole touched him. Amazing all of it except Rhaenys and Meles so sad 😢 I knew it was coming but I was still so hurt
This episode was NUTS! Daemons Rhaenyra dreams are so wild. Great way to expand on what happens to Daemon at Harrenhal. In the books they actually title this time period “the dying of dragons”, a spin on the dance of dragons. RIP Rhaenys!!!!!!
The dragon battle surpassed all of my expectations. It was truly epic, exhilarating, terrifying and heartbreaking all at the same time. I loved the shots of Vhagar's legs stomping through the battlefield - demonstrating her gargantuan size.
I didn't know how gruesome and emotional the dragon scenes would be. I just knew Rhaenys was going to die, so that had me emotional, but to see the dragons get hurt and screaming out.... wow. Wasn't expecting that. Very emotion filled episode.
You can se Aemond and Aegon weren’t really raised by their father. He was probably too sick to do so. They have no empathy or respect for the dragons. They are both ruthless. I cried so much when Meleys lights went out and Rhaeneys accepted her death as her rider. You could see their connection. Aemond doesn’t have that with his dragon. I wonder if Vhegar feels sorry for killing Meleys and Rhaeneys. They spent so much time together and Rhaeneys is the mother of her former rider.
@@juniorgunner501some people have the emotional intelligence to feel empathy, such as OP here. With your logic, the millions who cried over Mufasa’s death in The Lion King are pathetic too

I dont get she didnt fly away on Meleys when she had the chance. She did her job and then some. She decimated the army with fire, handled Sunfyre easily cause Meleys was much bigger, injured it so bad he probably wont fly again, and survived the inital attack by Vaghar which is a miracle considering how powerful he is. She was flying off and could have retreated and called that a successful mission overall. But she flew back in like she was giving up and wanted to die. Causually flew around until vaghar took them out. Accomplished nothing by sticking around accept losing the biggest dragon the reds had and getting herself killed also.
Vahgar is known for her sneak Attacks despite her size she wasn't just flying around for no reason. That's why she and Meleys kept looking around. She was hurt and knew she couldn't just fly off that easy. Both of their sense of honor made them turn back around and continue to fight. She regretted not ending everything when she had the chance breaking out if the dragon pit so her honor made her say fucc it I'm at least taking Aegon with me

Meleys and Rhaeyns had time to leave the battle but she took the high road to still confront Vhagar. Even with her experience, taking on Vhagar alone was a bad idea.
Vhagar is really a cheat code in this war. Like a freaking star destroyer laying in an ambush. I love the part when Meleys went under her and gave some good shot. RIP Rhaenys X Meleys.❤
yeah something that big keep winning via sneak attack. But Aemond ordering him under the foliage and wait it up showed hes a sneaky one and made it believable somehow.
The blood Daemon noticed on his hand wasn't from grasping his sword. In the second shot of him looking at his hand, the blood is gone. It was also an illusion, probably referring to the metaphorical blood he has on his hands.

I love meleys looking at Rhaenys before they die together
Shit was so sad
I’m at work currently holding back tears. 😢😭😭😭😭

Legit, my favorite character.

About this episode, I like that HBO changed the storyline. Instead of Rhaenys, Aemond tries to kill Aegon II and steals the Valyrian steel dagger from him.
But when he tries to be king, everyone ignores him.
It just about justifies the hatred the Greens get
they are all so pretentious, stubborn, and arrogant, and it makes it all the more tragic that they bring their children into it
Aegon isn't a good person (but none of the characters really are...they are all shades of gray), but I think he wanted to be a good king, at least initially.

Alicent dropping the dragon sculpture and breaking (the wing broke off) could be foreshadowing of Aegon and his dragon. Meleys also bit Sunfyre’s wing and it lit on fire too.
i couldn’t stop laughing at alicent verbally whipping aegon, poor guy 🤣
feel bad for him. People around him made him as he is . Hope he gets a good arc especially with sunfire
damn you have no empathy then
@@rangisagarabsolutely, it was good to see him happy before mounting sunfyre 💛
lol him and his dragon are cooked bro GGs 😂
@@vizalloteafilter no i do feel bad for aegon, he’s so insecure and vulnerable here, actually trying to seek counsel and even calling alicent “mother” which he never does… it was just funny how savage alicent is this whole scene.
“what thoughts would you have?” “do what’s expected of you, nothing” like damn ma 😂 i would’ve gotten tf outta there too
Charlie, I have been waiting for your breakdown videos with same anticipation as I wait for actual new House Of The Dragon episodes 😂
Thanks so much!
Me too 😊
Me, too!!!
The actual tragedy is the dragons killing each other with all the relationships they have had throughout their lives . The fact that Baelon’s dragon killed Alyssa’s dragon😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Yes, and that Vhagar was Rhaenys' daughter Laena's dragon as well.
The last time V and M saw earth other was at Leana’s funeral
And Rhaenys got killed by his own daughter's dragon. More tragedy
@@tsaradestiana7151wow really that’s crazy
@@lordlibralibralore7992 yeah, Vhagar previous rider was Laena Velaryon, Daemon's second wife. There's an episode where both on Vhagar and Caraxes flying together... and later would kill each other at Battle Above The God's Eye in the future
I was in tears Rhaenys was my fav and she definitely gave these boys a run so skilled in dragon battle
Exactly, I had the same analysis and I thought it was obvious!
Anyone else believe Aemond was actually gonna kill Aegon?
I think they want you to wonder that.
Absolutely 😂
Aemond is my favorite character and I feel he definitely meant to burn his brother and he was gonna kill him before christon Cole yelled out to him. There was no reason for him to have his sword out to recover his brother then when he knows he's not alone he puts his sword away and walks away.
He was definitely gona make sure he was dead
Yes
Last 15 mins was lit.. Armies getting ready at rook’s rest with Rhaenyra telling about song of ice and fire in the background, Rhaenys getting on Meleys 🥲 we all knew how this ends yet it was heartbreaking to watch. Queen that never was🔥🤘🏻
been saying it everywhere but seeing Aegon flying sunfyre without high valyrian (and just in general because he was really bad at it) reminded me of a college rich kid driving a sports car. i did like his relationship with him though it was very cute.
Also imagine the poor dude who surrendered and bent the knee at one of the smaller fights just to be the victim of dragon warfare here
Just wanna say: your videos are so much cooler than all those other creators. You speak in a enthusiastic but natural voice, and your videos don't have distracting special effects. There is not a weekend I go through without watching a video of yours about my favourite shows. Thank you.
The bond with the dragons got me bawling over this episode. Meleys and Sunfyre were so sweet with their riders. I hugged my dogs immediately after this heartbreaking episode! 😭
The way meleys look at rhaenys during their final moments 💔😢
What an epic episode. Aemond was like 2 for 1, Bet. Rhaenys was the only one who told everyone not to use dragons in the beginning. RIP
I couldn’t wait for your review! This episode was sooo crazy!! I cried the entire time Rheanys settled Meleys before they rode out and for poor Sunfyre😭😭
4:57 The blood on Daemons hand when he wakes up is part of his vision/hallucinations cause it disappears when he turns he’s hand, ole boy is really loosing it
this video helps me understand more and see what i didnt understand was happening and all the details so really want to say thank you for doing these videos to give us more understanding on what things mean and what details we may have missed this video is very helpful and informative especially for me as i have learning difficulties it really did layer it out in this video for me
I straight up cried hearing Sunfyre cry in pain, loved the scenes of him and Rhanys mounting their dragons. I love the idea of the bond formed between rider and mount! Aemond is playing the game of thrones for real.
The entire time I was saying just go home and she just wouldn’t leave LOL
When Aemond is staring at the dagger it looks like he may be seeing a glimpse of writing on it due to the dragon fire from the battle and his fall. Not enough to make out what it says but enough to learn something is there and how to read it.
Calling burnt Aegon a hot dog and Larys ser foot stuff has me dying 😂😂😂
Man that scene after Vagaer attacked & choked out Maleys Maleys looked at Rhaneys & died broke my heart
Same. Loved each other to the end.
Also can we talk about Baela and Jace getting sassy in the small council meeting 🤣
I didn't know how gruesome and emotional the dragon scenes would be. I just knew Rhaenys was going to die, so that had me emotional, but to see the dragons get hurt and screaming out.... wow. Wasn't expecting that. Very emotion filled episode.
Kudos to the Sound Dept. I legit muted my TV when Sunfyre started screaming.
I haven’t sobbed like that since Viseryion was killed by the night king 😩 Oh my heart
Crying over a fictional cgi dragon is pathetic ngl
@@juniorgunner501 Good thing your opinion doesn’t count, this was great storytelling ! 🙂
Pointless commenting on UA-cam is pathetic. @@juniorgunner501
@@juniorgunner501some people have the emotional intelligence to feel empathy, such as OP here. With your logic, the millions who cried over Mufasa’s death in The Lion King are pathetic too
@@juniorgunner501 There's two types of weak men. Those who can't handle their emotions and those that avoid their emotions, because they're both the same.
This episode is a PSA for what happens when you go drunk-driving into battle on a dragon
Rhaenys fought until the end like her daughter would have wanted. A dragonrider's death. RIP Princess Rhaenys & Meleys, the Red Queen.
Daughter?
@@2peasinapodcast341 Rhaens's daughter died from having her dragon kill her because her birth was killing her and child wouldn't come out.
Exactly. A Dragonriders death! She went out like the badass she was!
She regretted not ending everything when she had the chance breaking out if the dragon pit so her honor made her say fucc it I'm at least taking Aegon with me
This was always her ending. Aemond would not have let her get away.
As shown from before she never intended to kill her family members but just neutralize the dragons to make the Greens weaker. ughhhhhh
@@RockChick63174she could have if she wanted to. Meleys is faster
I truly believe she felt some kind of guilt for not burning them before and was ready to sacrifice herself
Meleys and Rhaeyns had time to leave the battle but she took the high road to still confront Vhagar. Even with her experience, taking on Vhagar alone was a bad idea.
I waited specifically for this breakdown I refuse to watch other breakfowns lol
Thanks! I appreciate it!

A phenomenal yet heartbreaking episode at the same time. Thanks, Emergency Awesome.
The blood Daemon noticed on his hand wasn't from grasping his sword. In the second shot of him looking at his hand, the blood is gone. It was also an illusion, probably referring to the metaphorical blood he has on his hands.
