    Its a huge problem and globally. The mental health institutions are either full up or underfunded. The mentally ill end up in jail repeatedly and often end up staying longer periods because they, sometimes unwillingly, get involved in crimes commited behind bars. It seems the justice dept., the jails and the pharmaceutical companies are the only parties that are making dollars from this.

      @@EricScrapping4Dinidog 80% of Americans are criminals. Particularly committing white collar crimes. Most never are held accountable and avoid jail, pay bail or have the most expensive legal representation/friends in the judiciary, bribed or associates in the elite members club. Rub shoulders, do deals and do favours for each-other to avoid jail time if charged or are investigated. America is built on capitalism not spiritualism. i.e. Biden, Clintons, OJ, etc etc.

      We closed down our mental health institutions under President Reagan in the 80s. 99% of the people on the streets would have been housed and treated for MH and drug abuse under the old way. We didn’t let people shoot dope and walk around naked in a tent in the old days

    Trouble is there's no actual rehabilitation going on. That's why there's repeat offenders.

      90% live better inside than outside. Best they keep them inside, protect community and build more prisons.

      Unfortunately the men that are incarcerated have to do it themselves. They have to rise above all the negativity of prison and be the change they want in their lives. They will have to seek therapy once they come home. The prison purposely doesn't rehabilitate because they need the bodies to keep the prisons a float and staffed in these rural farm towns. If a person is rehabilitated that's one less person the system can count on to help them be employed.

    As somebody who works with mental health in jail, admitting that you’re having suicidal thoughts does not mean you’re “getting help.” They stripped him of everything and put him in a safety smock in a segregated cell. I’m so sad for Alex that he was talked to that way. The reality though is he’s right- we can offer some types of meds but other than that and listening, there’s nothing we can really do.

      I agree. The governor of Illinois is telling killers to apply for parole or being pardoned. He’s going to release them. Most don’t want to be released. Sad but true! My son is a corrections officer and seen it personally. Watch your kids because this State is releasing dangerous criminals

    • @jeep19
      @jeep19 5 днів тому

      @Babybold_yk2 you can blame Reagan for the 1980 MHSA that pushed funding to the states to enact community based programs, because the goal was to reduce federal funding. This caused a chain reaction of dismantling mental health agencies across the board, because the states couldn't handle and keep up with programming to address patients'needs. Parts of MHSA were repealed, but the damage was done, and the effects are still seen today, and the poor, marginalized, and disadvantaged are the most effected.

This place is not is not a place to live. It's just not worth it fellas. Why waist our lives to be pets when we can live and enjoy life. I remember bring locked down I just wanted to cry and break down because the thought of losing everything and not being able to see the ones I love is a hurtful feeling and can turn you into a monster. To those behind bars you should have thought about your actions before committing your crimes whatever they was and you wouldn't be eating 🐖 slop meals and going to bed early like a 6 year old child to Alex I hope you get your life together so you can be with your mom and sister and see your step dad in prison or jail you don't get to leave for funeral of your family you are stuck behind bars and to Reggie Yates maybe you can be Alex mentor and help him find someone who can help him with his depression 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

    We are living in a Godless society. And it turn it effects everything. So generations of families living without Jesus in their lives. They are living in lawlessness from one generation to the next. Until society gets back to God and parents actually start being parents. It'll only get worse.
