This game was really a microcosm of the Chiefs' season in 2017. Started really strong, then fell off horribly down the stretch. Of course, this paved the way for Alex Smith to finally get the axe, and Patrick Mahomes to get his chance to show out, so I'd say things worked out pretty well for Kansas City in the end.

@@yenice3652 It's tough to really gauge Alex Smith's career. For the longest time, he seemed like nothing more than a game manager who could occasionally scramble and get some big yards, and never took any chances. Then 2017 comes along and he plays like an MVP candidate for the first half of the season before suddenly regressing back to the mean. I think he can be a great QB when placed in the right system, but there aren't very many QB-friendly systems as good as what Andy Reid runs in KC.
Yenice Smith was borderline mediocre.

The InvictusSamaritan during the time of this vid their game plan was called “exotic smashmouth” which was a run first offense. When Vrabel came in they brought in Dion Lewis and went away from exotic smashmouth, but when Henry got hot middle of last year they went from a spread offense back to a smashmouth offense. The only difference the year of this video is that Henry split carries with Demarco Murray, but Murray missed this playoff game. But the titans have been a run first team for this whole 4 year run, minus the early part of last year when Henry was sucking

It's crazy how this season, the Titans beat the Chiefs, but lose to the Patriots and 2 years later, they get their payback on the Patriots then lose to the Chiefs. It's also crazy that Mahomes was just a rookie.

As a Chiefs fan I think this was one of the worst officiating crews the worst part was the head ref retired after this game. Didn't flag the Titans on the Kelce hit. The worst part about this game was I was there

It was sad that the Chiefs lost this game but it was the springboard to get Mahomes to be the starting QB and we know how good that's turned out so far. The Chiefs have to be forced to do the right thing. Kareem Hunt would have not even played that much as a rookie if not for Spencer Ware being injured in the preseason. Put your best guys in and good things will happen.

This now just confirms to me that pat Mahomes literally won the “team a quarterback away” lottery. Any other team and he wouldn’t be as dominant. I’m not a chiefs fan but this is literally the same team minus Mahomes. Not to take anything away from smith but if a team looks this good with Alex smith even a small upgrade would get them over the top. All I’m saying is Mahomes is one of a kind and the chiefs are scary good with a great coach but let’s not forget the amount of talent around him from the get go. Solid team.

That play at 15:30 by Alex Smith was so good. Surprised by snap, manages to hit his WR in the hands 40 yards downfield still over two guys.
He needed to throw lower and with more zip on a seam instead of throwing with an arc. Even if the wr caught that pass, it takes too long to get there so the safety would've whacked the ball out. The safety whacked him hard anyway
