Chris H. Maybe, but the parts are more pricier on this bird unless you don't bend none of the metal. Now I have really never slam my 450 hard into the ground, just screwed up maneuvers and my blades come in contact with the ground.
Awesome! I love your reviews and videos. Very informative. If you don't mind me asking a few questions, I purchased this Heli as well and was wondering what lipos are you using and where did you purchase them, what kind of 3M for the receiver do you use, is it better than the Kyosho Zeal, and what can I use to balance the blades? Can wait to see your other videos of this heli. Thanks!
I bought a couple Turnigy 1300 mha batteries from HK. I plan on buying Pulse but want to make sure they fit. The 3m tape is grey with red removable plastic you can find at most hardware stores. I use a Microheli blade balancer but any good one will work. Hope that helps thanks for watching
Cool. Thanks for the response. I bought a couple of 1300 mAh Nano Tech batteries from HK but they have the XT60 connector on them. So I also purchased XT60 to EC3 adapters since I never soldered before and don't have the tools for it. Maybe I should invest in it but I didn't want to alter the batteries and void what ever warranty these batteries may have. Also, what material did you use to balance the blade? Does the blade balancer come with material or stickies like the trex 150? Thanks again!
How is it holding up for you? I might buy one in the summer. I sold my old blade 500 3d and now I'm just flying the 130x and the 180 cfx. Although the 180's performance is awesome, the components are too freakin cheap! I stripped one of the cyclic servos when I tried to put the blade holder on. And we all know about the brittle plastic bits in the torque tube. I don't want another purchase like that one.
jacob edwards Man its been raining here for 2 weeks. If it wasn't for the gym I would have no flying at all. So sorry I can't say much about the 360 yet.
Jack, do you have a video on using/replacing standard FBL Gyro tape with the 3M version you use? (I.e. How big a square to cut; how many layers). I use the clear 3M tape but it doesn't seem to dampen vibes that great. I also want to try replacing the Blade 230 S tape and go find some automotive wheel weights. Thanks!
Wow, I'm jealous as heck of that front yard! That 360 is the first Blade I've really looked at seriously. I've been about to pull the trigger on a Gaui X3... but there are serious mods to be done if I want to use my existing 1300mah fat packs. I like that on this Blade, the battery size isn't so tightly restricted. How's your canopy fit over that pack? Also, those are some long dang links from servos to swash... longer than the X3, no? Thanks much.
Stringfellow Hawke The canopy fits fine. I had to add some weight because the 360 is tail heavy. Should have both some 1350mha batteries. The links are longer than the X3
I think the main issue was the tape used to mount the Beast X. Most pilots I know will replace the tape. BX doesn't like vibrations so could have been a combination of blade balance and the tape. However from my experience it was probably the mounting tape.
Hi JJ Inverted. I just obtained a 360 CFX and was wondering how loose should the main and tail rotors be ? Also when the battery is fully charged what should the voltage be, 25.1 ?. When I got them they were at 22.8. These are Wild Scorpion 1500 mAh 45 C 6s recommended by the LHS. Would a 5 C rate be good for charging ? Thank you.
I run tail blades a little looser than main blades. Main blades are not tight , not loose, if you hold the heli sideways the blades should stay in place. Charge rate is usually on the battery however I never charge over 3 C. I beleive batteries will last longer if you take care of them.
Thanks JJ. I've been charging my 3 cells at 1c and wasn't sure about the 6 cells as they are new to me. The info on the battery just says 5c 10c charge so wasn't sure. My main and tail blades are snug so I will loosen up as you said. Thanks for the reply, are you doing any videos on the 360 as you did on the 230S ? Those were invaluable.
Flying a small helicopter in a small front yard. No more than 50 feet away. What do you expect. Go do a video of a helicopter the same size and come back here show it.
You live in a stunning neighbourhood, my friend. Where is that exactly?-- Thanks for vids. Don't have one of these but have found your 180CFX vids invaluable.
Shit m8, your front yard is bigger than the public park that I go to for pratice D-: Congrats on your financial success! I have to go there in the early hours before the dog people come and think I'm flying a toy that will bounce of them it it hits them...they actually get pissed when I pack up and leave...noobs. Told one guy that the blades would take his dogs nose off before he got the point. So glad I have my quads that are so much safer with people around, but I'd rather be flying my helis you know? Small country probs...anyways, take care and fly safe :-D
One of the few videos I've ever seen without a single dislike. Great flight, great yard, showcasing a great heli.
Nice house how many helicopters you go in your Hanger
I so want one but I would never use that type of power because I don't fly 3d. It will stay in normal mode most of the time with me. Very nice bird.
James M Great heli for learning or sport flying. Plus light and powerful for 3d
JJInvertedProduction I'm still scared of my 450. Cheaper to fix when I plant it in the ground to.
Awesome bird! I'd love one :)
I would think that the flybarless would be cheaper to fix than your 4503D with less parts to break/bend.
Chris H. Maybe, but the parts are more pricier on this bird unless you don't bend none of the metal. Now I have really never slam my 450 hard into the ground, just screwed up maneuvers and my blades come in contact with the ground.

I use some automotive reflective tape. A balancing tool won't come with tape

I do not have a video. Cut the 3m tape as close to the size of the flb system
+JJInvertedProduction - Do you have the 3M tape number you use?
I just purchased one. could I get help with setting it up?

Stringfellow Hawke Pangs of jealousy tug at me also looking at that front yard. Micro heli heaven and perfect test area for bigger stuff.
I really enjoy your videos! What camera do you use to record your flight videos? Thanks!
Thanks. I'm using a GoPro Hero 4 with a head mount. It's ok but makes everything look further away so I zoom in editing.
Did you know the 270 is the replacement for the 360? It is.
bushpilot no
So, just balancing blades solved the problem? Why would unbalanced blades cause drift? I am new to the hobby. Thanks.

did you watch the vid before you posted it can't see the heli

Hope to see it at Cajun Heli Fest.
I will be there Friday morning
