I’ve just bought gta4 and now I’m returning to rdr1 after not playing it that much, and it’s so freaking fun. You can see the vision people had with the way the game is just goofy fun. It’s not like the money hungry games made nowadays with trying to be too realistic it’s not fun anymore.

I’m on Xbox 1 but ca. still play with cbox 360 and one day I started to play gta again but I’m an adult now I bought all the dlcs then started playing online but no one was online at all , all week then I got on at 9:30 US EST time and now the lobby is filled and I found almost everyone around 9 gta 4 Xbox 360 servers blow up with people playing in different time zones around the world to people just getting off work it’s the best feeling again never thought gta 4 would be like this again
I was the lobby creator all the time on ps3.
Free roam, full traffic and cops. Turn blips off , radar off, chat only proximity. Was awesome

man gta iv is way over its time, i remember testing few car multiple times and came to a conclution that even tho its the same type of car they actually have different tunning each. theres slow, medium and fast i believe.
I hope GTA 6 makes the physics more like GTA IV, you can keep the GTA V physics on sports cars, the classic instant sharp turns and fast brakes and on the opposite make vans and SUV's more like GTA IV
I would love to have a mix of this and Gta 5. For example the gunfight can start as a shootout like Gta 4 but can slowly go over the top and we start using military equipment like in Gta 5. But its implemented in a way where its better to start fighting like in Gta 4 instead of imediatly taking out the US Military Arsenal from your back pocket in Gta 5.

actually on pc this game ignores your mouse input if it is too slow. there's a fix but it doesn't fix it 100%. so shooting on pc in gta 4 is pain 🗿🚬

The online racing was better than Forza imo. The physics were just right to separate skill vs. just gassing it

THIS! This is waht PvP and driving should have been! THIIIS! All the pvp in gta5 came down to snipers and rocket spam honestly. Hot take here, but the only time pvp was fun was back in 2013-2015. I started gta5 back in 2015 with the laaunch on PC, and everybody was running with smg, shotgun and default pistol, that was the only time pvp was fun. No explosive spam, no hydra or lazers flying around, just people having fun... the good times.

11:32 I always liked how helicopters didn’t immediately explode in gta 4, unlike gta 5 where a slight bump will cause one to go boom. Also, nice yeet there.
I liked the driving, flying and shooting mechanics of IV so much better. It took practice but it was much more rewarding.
Weapons had lots of bloom so burst firing was actually necessary instead of prolonged fire
one hidden mechanic of GTA IV's shooting (at least on console) was that pulling the trigger slowly made the first shot much more accurate basically halving the reticule size, combined with crouching you could increase accuracy by a huge amount, especially with weapons like the desert eagle and carbine rifle.

I mean it's exactly what it set out to be, traditional gta but in an online space. Not some really unbalanced boring grind fest, with glorified mobile game transactions, and literal gambling
One thing I miss is how the police and wanted system worked. It actually made sense and rewarded you for quick thinking and good driving. Unlike in GTA5 where you could be miles from where the crime was committed without a single cop seeing you and they still send wave after wave of police cruisers up the side of Mt Chiliad looking for you.
disagreed, GTA 4's zone system felt really artificial and made no sense, it didnt matter if you were hiding in a bush or on top of a skyscraper as long as you were in the 'search zone', GTA 5's wanted system at least lets us use the map to our advantage.
Thats because V has a witness system. There are NPCs that call the police on you and you can see them taking their phones out to do it. It just doesn't alert you unlike in RDR2
@@gvr2774Yeah I always have a problem with that when I’m trying to steal a car for a mission or something I always see the npc of their phone and I try to kill them before they call the cops 😂

I remember this, its better than people with insecurities on orbital cannon. Free aiming and being able to survive explosions, some of the best fun I ever had.
And ppl can't run to an opressor MK2 bc they got owned a few times and the free aim feels so much better than GTA 5s free aim imo

I spent soooo many hours on GTA IV online just bullshitting around, when GTA V launched i tried the multiplayer for like 1 week, got fed up with the endless grinding and immediately went back to GTA IV.
I still play gta 4 on my ps3 for the memories and I have to say I like it more than gta 5

Something about GTA 4 online just feels special.
GTA IV proved the concept of a Freemode multiplayer GTA experience, and while it had its fair share of flaws in the day (onset of modding, overpowered Annihilator/Buzzard, and toxicity), it also demonstrated Rockstar’s commitment (at the time) to its community which it respected. You could actually play with developers back then. A friend of mine joined a 360 party with a developer which teased the crew system, noting that Rockstar never imagined the clans and communities that had formed within their project in GTA IV. Those devs are probably long gone now, but the game’s legacy lives on.

I’m hoping rockstar brings GTA 4 to this most recent console. I’ve always thought the stealth tactic was actually better. Being able to snipe an NPC without them knowing your position is better then missing your shot and the enemies 5 miles away managed to headshot you easily

Ya that's what kept me playing the single player for ages, there was endless fun with it. GTA5 is stiff with rag doll now, just quite boring compared IMO and your character slips and falls like a newborn, sad times still lol. Hoping GTA6 they ramp it up again that way at least like Max Payne 3 or RDR2.

GTA 4 is where I met a fellow player on Xbox who I've been friends with for well over a decade now.

if you had a ps3, at one point you played gta 4, battlefield 3, black ops 1 continuously. when it came to games of satisfaction, that era was PEAK supreme. way ahead of it's time. we finally feel a small portion of that era with warzone. the only game in this era that feels like its been made with love. to state that those old games were made with just love is a understatement.

I miss the simple heli fights. That took skill. Not being targeted every five secs by a MK2 or random jet flying and destroying everything.
I remember building huge Skateparks at the Airport with a Mod Menu on the Ps3. At the end the whole Airport was covered with Ramps and the whole lobby riding my motorcycles i spawned for them.
I hope the next gta goes back to gta 4 in at least a few ways. Explosives shouldn’t instantly kill you or not effect you at all(they also should penetrate walls. Cars shouldn’t automatically flip without you needing to do anything aside from press the analog in a single direction. And the cars should feel a little more weighty and glued to the ground.
Why GTA 4 is still a better game than GTA 5:
GTA 4 has…
1. No orbital cannon
2. No Futuristic vehicles (Oppressor MK2, Delexo etc.)
3. More fun and balanced
GTA 5 has…
1. Orbital Cannon
2. Toxic vehicles for toxic players
3. Too many glitches (god mode speedo vans/characters, XBOX controller input lag, being auto-kicked for inappropriate messages etc.)
4. Op vehicles like jets for instance
5. Griefers, TryHards, K/D Farmers, god mode players, people who DDoS, etc.

I hate how no one talk about the amount if npcs in gtav. That's literally the reason why the game is unplayable on old gen. Too many npcs and too many cops. The updates aren't the problem it's the dang npcs.
Gta IV and the episodes multiplayer was so fun back in the day. Modded fun at the airport was so entertaining back in the day

i prefer gta v due to it’s improved driving, its better lighting… better optimization and superior open world, it has so much more fun and exciting activities to do than IV

I remember playing this when it 1st came out and thinking how realistic it looked lmao now seeing I was like "Is this really what it looked like?" Though the car controls are still more realistic than GTA 5s

This game did gta multiplayer right. The only thing people want to do is dick around in free mode.
GTA 4 allowed you to use it's sandbox without any bullshit. The way it was meant to be.
Gta Iv had a lot of things right. Cars felt heavy and had a sense of inertia. Guns felt more potent. Explosions weren't instant death if it didnt hit close. Rpg was inaccurate and slow velocity with limited ammo. No chicken dancing snipers either. And the swingset of death was amazing.
those people were racing so clean... never got to experience that in gta v... the moment the race starts its a demolition derby while the first player just runs away.

This game was amazing, its multi-player to me surpasses the nonsense that is gta 5 online nowadays. Gta5 online was alot better on the ps3, but its no surprise that 4 is still great today
