Ghostly Aircrew Of RAF East Kirkby

- I attended this photography event at East Kirkby in September, with smoke machines, lights, re-enactors and a Lancaster bomber....looking at the footage afterwards, it struck me how reminiscent it was of the 1980 film 'The Fog' starring Jamie Lee Curtis among others....so here you are - I've put some of the music by John Carpenter to my footage, which I've slowed down to make it look less life-like....the moonlight footage was added from an Autumn night-shoot at the Shuttleworth Collection Old Warden....
Bless all the air crew who lost their lives... If you we're happy their...
As the England that you all knew is a very different England now...
Respect to all of you... Never in the field of human conflict ..was so much owed by so many to so few...lest we forget...love and remembrance to all

I have worked on quite a few military airfields (particularly in Lincolnshire ) late at night and at no time have I felt fear of, hauntings, spooks, ghosts etc.
These incredible men were prepared to and all too often did,die for us.
They are not going to harm us now.
I never felt fear, just huge sadness, for some reason. They will not harm us now, they're just there, some people will never be aware of them, some of us will feel and see more. Just remember and respect.
Excellent video, it sends a chill down the spine to think how many of the brave lads of Bomber Command who were lost still remain haunting the derelict airfields of Lincolnshire.
R.I.P and endless respect to them all.
Jon Senior indeed Jon - #LestWeForget
Funny how the remain campaign have forgotten!
I went to the old WW1 hangar at the old RAF Hendon a few weeks ago.You can definetly feel the history in the building.
What a beautiful video of the lost airmen of East Kirby, Chilling, emotional, and haunting, I have walked in that hanger and to think that they may be standing next to me make's me very emotional, R I P all you brave people.
john cartwright It was a very moving experience being involved in this night shoot John when the lights and smoke machines were introduced....glad you enjoyed it
This is the creepiest video i have ever seen, mainly because it hits so close to home about a personal experience i had at an old RAF base which I'll leave anonymous in an attempt to spare the ghostly crew i and two other mechanics witnessed, a crew of seven walked through the closed hanger doors wearing all their gear, and then walked right through the back brick wall and never missed a step. And yes there was suddenly fog like conditions inside the hanger, on a cold and crisp clear night outside. The part i remember the most was saying over again out loud I'm not seeing this, this isn't real, and the deathly absence of any sound, any at all, and the static charge that was in the air. We did see bright white light that seemed to come from nowhere when the crew walked through the back wall. We were officially done working at that point and departed the hanger most expeditiously. Cold chills and shivers accompanied us back to the pub, and we talked about the experience none, each of us not knowing how to start the conversation. Like only we were meant to see it. Believe it or not, all I'm saying.
Interesting comment Todd, thanks for sharing your experience - they were brave lads.
It's class but it's creepy as hell even for me who's actually seen a ghost
They protected us then, and still do so now
I have photo of this with all seven crew Framed & up on the wall " Shadows of the Past " I contacted the people who gave their permission to do so . Love these Photos -They are some of the best -Kind Thanks
When I was little and there was a full moon, mam always said “Bombers Moon”.
for all the poor lads whatever there nationality who never came home or got to say goodbye to there loved ones
God rest those brave souls
God bless you all
All those HEROS gone, and only one aircrew haunting ?
I salute you the Lancaster Bomber crew lest we forget we shall remember them we shall not grow old
"Well. Here we are lads. Back where we all first met up. Fancy taking the old girl up for one final flight, before we finish ops for good?" The phantom crewmen nodded their silent approval.
"It's agreed, then" the Skipper replied. "Per ardua and astra, lads.".
All Airfields have their Ghosts , ,Its said they were happy at the airfield ,and thats why they stay /
Mike Clark : You are quite correct but many had "Unfinished Business" like payments on a car as well as unpaid Bills or not having chance to say Goodbye to their loved ones. Many Ghosts hang around in Pubs as it's still their favourite meeting place. Some Ghosts are not even aware they are dead !
Yes true Raf West Malling was very spooky before they built on it
@@annabeltheunicorn9374 Bitterswell airfield was the same,up by Lutterworth in Leicestershire,it’s now a Distribution park called Magna Park, they saved as much of the Runway as they could, whilst on nights, someone saw a pilot in flying gear,he returned to days.
I shall wear a poppy for the Lancaster Bomber crew
I have a few of these as Photos on my Computor room wall . -Incredible , You could make a ghost story film dedicated to Bomber command ,. This could be made into such a Film
I down loaded some of the photos ,and place one in a frame ,which now hangs proudly on my wall -Remembering all
Dear Holy Father, please, bring these restless souls home, under your almighty wings. May evil never touch them again. Through Jesus Christ Our Lord , Amen. May they rest in your loving care, please Abba!!
Don't forget 207 Squadron.
This is a poignant ode to the crews of Bomber Command...
I'm scared 😱 of the living not the dead💜👻
I get so upset when I think off all members of the armed forces stuck between worlds
david morrison well maybe they arnt stuck, they may have loved the plane and the base so much that they just relive the past. Let's face it those planes were almost living things themselves and had their own personality unlike the modern planes. I've heard a recording of what sounds like a spitfire flying overhead which was recorded in the middle of the night so certainly wasn't a living spitfire , it's a beautiful sound like no other the merlin engine.
..........when you've stood on an old airfield in late evening, and watched two young airmen in Sidcot suits walking to the Tower, then you believe. RAF Elvington, late 1980's.
Paul Williams Hope you enjoyed the video Paul
Absolutely. My uncle was a flight engineer on Lancasters, although he was reluctant to talk much about his time in the RAF, and like so many, he has now passed away, this video was brilliant, but very emotional. Guess we will never be able to pay the debt owed. Keep telling the stories, keep the memory alive, it's all these young men would have wanted.
Paul Williams Very true - my Uncle was a rear gunner on 100 Squadron RAF Grimsby (Waltham). He spent two years training and was on the squadron for 3 weeks before being lost without trace with his crew in only his 3rd ‘Op’...we keep his memory alive and he, like your Uncle and so many others, must never be forgotten....I added the music from ‘The Fog’ as it’s so atmospheric....thanks for watching John
Been in the control tower at Elvington on the tour. in daylight had to leave and go outside feeling of being watched. Really creepy.
@@robhaytonairshowvideos9853 I give every ounce of respect from the US armed forces to British RAF if you go back there again tell them that please and thank you
There is a certain atmosphere there at East Kirkby. M.
superb 👍
Alan Gee Thanks Alsn
