CELPE-Bras (Portuguese: Certificado de Proficiência em Língua Portuguesa para Estrangeiros, "Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners") is the only certificate of proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese as a second language officially recognized and developed by the Brazilian Ministry of Education.

You are right about free medical education in Brazil. You still need to pass the examinations ENEM or Vestibular.

This is pretty actually! I studied Portuguese (B A) here in Nigeria and i will say Brazil is an amazing place to be. For masters, for someone like me who studied Portuguese, do i need to tender CELPE-BRAS to apply?

Education is the easiest way
For proof of funds, last year, they were asking for minimum of $600 per month for at least 6 months. That would be about $3600 per head. They didn’t mention anything about any additional family member just incase you want to go with your spouse or child. So I don’t really know.
Also, my friend who is doing her phd there said she got scholarship for her living expenses. She said the stipend is not much but you can live on it if you are very frugal.
Wow! That's interesting to hear, and your friend confirm that they don't have English-taught programs? Then I think teaching jobs will be available for those who want to learn in English. Is your friend from Nigeria and is she learning the Portuguese language too?
@@bethelappah5195 My friends PhD is in English but they expect you to learn Portuguese and another language that is not your native language by the end of the program.
She said that this doesn't apply to everyone though. But many others had to just learn English and another language or so. But mainly English. She is in tech.

Brazil is was my target point thinking my wife will be from there. however I prefer Spanish over Portuguese to learn. should I consider Portuguese? or is that difficult to get Spanish accents after Portuguese, because both related?
You can learn both..
Start with Portuguese. It will be easy to learn Spanish that way. Actually, if you know Portuguese, you can pretty much understand conversational Spanish. They are essentially different languages but as someone who is learning Portuguese, I understand a lot of Spanish as if it is Spanish I am learning.
Also, I watched a few videos from people that learned both and they recommended learning Portuguese first.
Of course! You would learn the one that suits you better in terms of the place you want to move to sha. So it depends on your situation at the end of the day

Better to start with Portuguese.
If you preffer to learne spanish,dont come to brazil.
To study in Brazil for free for undergraduate using your WAEC or NECO, you need to join the PEC-G program. Applications open in July every year for people between ages 18 and 23 years.
You need to contact the education department in the consulate in Nigeria for more info on this.

@@okekechristiana5905 Not with the PEC-G program. You can apply directly to private universities with your secondary school transcript though. I don't know about using only WAEC/NECO or using it to enter public universities. Best thing will be to reach out to the particular university you are interested in. They may have special admission pathways.

You can live in any of these countries with English. You learn the language later. There are few English speaking countries

Waka Waka Doctor I think the huge presence of blacks in Brazil is due to slavery and a huge number of the slaves came from the Yoruba tribe chiefly located in present day Nigeria. The Yoruba culture is one of the most preserved culture in all of Afro America's. That explains the presence of garri, akara etc. There are lots of videos on that in the internet.

I have gone through the OAU portal as described by one of the listener here . The application fee is 7000# while the fee is #190,000 one hundred and ninety thousand naira only.
I don't get the price for LASU for now but I have sent an email to enquire about the cost and duration.
OAU allow 6months with five credits.
My challenge is that of strike which will absolutely affect it.
May I know if one can get visit or tourist visa to Brazil and start schooling? Because I definitely want my daughter to study first.
Also, is there other means to get the exam because this schools fee is high in OAU.

If you have a digital skill, that will be a huge plus as Brazil has fast internet and you can easily work remotely. The time zone is close to the US time zone.
