As always - your thoughts are very interesting. Thank you for making this video and sharing it with us here on UA-cam. I personally like "The Man in the High Castle" and have seen 3 seasons so far. During such a terrible dictatorship as the "3rd Reich" only a few people had the courage for resistance, the majority of the people kept critical thoughts for themselves to protect their lives and not to endanger family or friends. Fortunately we live in a democracy where the freedom of thoughts and the freedom of speech is of great value. Every different voice, every different opinion has to be heard - even if you don`t agree with it. A society benefits from good discussions.

Absolutely! It is a road we should all be aware of so that we don't go down it again. Unpopular and even horrible thoughts and ideas should not be buried. Freedom of speech is really important and it is worrying when the 'mob' calls for speakers to be deplatformed, particularly in universities, where the very foundation of the thing should be education. If we don't learn from our mistakes, we are likely to repeat them...
I think you'll find series 4 just as good as the previous ones. There are some very poignant moments in episode 3 and 4...

The pedigree for that series could hardly be better. Philip K. Dick, the author of the original story, is fantastic. He also wrote the story that was made into the film, Blade Runner. Additionally, the producer is Ridley Scott, who also made Blade Runner, Thelma and Louise, and Black Hawk Down. Philip K. Dick also originated one of my favorite truisms: Reality is that which, when you no longer believe in it, doesn't go away."
I started the series therefore with very high expectations. And I find myself disappointed. Yes, the theme and the premise are strong. But the overall experience of watching it felt confusing and awkward. I finished the first season. I tried to watch the second season, got through a few episodes, and quit.
But I do agree, they do not shy away from the sheer brutality of the Nazi regime, internal and external.
But please, fin, don't drink too often or deeply from the Q-anon Kool-Aid. It's poison and will rot your mind. I've already lost a friend to it and it's very sad to see someone spiral down the conspiratorial rabbit-hole.

I'm curious to know, if the Man in the High Castle is sub-standard, what would you consider to be a really good TV series? I've watched a few on Amazon prime and that (for me) is the best one yet!
Also, I'm not sure what you're getting at with the conspiratorial rabbit hole. It's something I'm well aware of and careful to avoid.

@@finlarg I am not saying that it had bad production levels or anything like that. I had a similar experience with the HBO series West World. It had/has a first-class cast, high production values, and a philosophical undercurrent that drives the show. Still, I got bored after the second season (really mid-way through it, but I finished it.) I was all hyped-up about Game of Thrones and then watched two episodes and gave up.
I think it's me. ADD or some such.
Series I would recommend are very few that run currently. Showtime's Homeland may still exist, I'm not sure. Ray Donavan was fun while it lasted. My wife loves Mrs. Maisel on Amazon, I think.
I can see that it still sticks in your craw about wearing masks, and I want to demonize the forces that promote anti-mask-ism. I used a little hyperbole. Stay safe.

I'm not particularly bothered about masks now, I've kind of got used to them. I wear them when required, but I'm still skeptical about their efficacy.
I found some series underwhelming such as the Expanse. And others, such as Homecoming, quite good.

Finlarg, I think the efficacy of wearing masks to filter virus from the air around us is better than no covering at all. Maybe not by an excessive amount, but some amount none the less. I”ll take it.

I don't object to them in shops and urban centres. But out here in the wilderness....

I only got through the first 2 seasons. Lost interest but not sure if worth seeing the rest.
