Couple of points. Get 2 single inductions cook tops. I made the mistake of getting a 2 burner, and found it really difficult to put 2 pots on at the same time. 2nd, I strongly suggest lifting your microwave up and putting in a shelf for it to sit on as high as you can. The micro wave puts out a lot of heat, and will severely overwork your fridge compressor (or condenser) I put 2 round soffit vents on my cabinet to dispense the heat even more. My fridge ran a lot less after this.
Gary, great points and I do hear you. I think that I will go with two single burner induction cooktops. In addition, I might move the microwave accordingly and thanks for the words of wisdom.

We purchased one of those roadside barn style sheds for $12,000. Ours is 16x40(biggest we could find). We hired someone to finish it out, since we lived five hours away at that time, including adding windows and an extra door(stuff we now realize we should have asked for to begin with, when we ordered our shed). Cost to finish it out into a one bedroom(with a huge closet), one bath/laundry room, and a kitchen/living room combo was $22,000. ($34,000 total) We intended to live in it for a couple of years, while we built a house. We moved in during the fall of 2019. Then covid hit. The cost of everything skyrocketed, and we are still here! But we're managing ok. We built a huge deck on front, and a decent sized covered porch on the side ourselves. We're still planning to build our house, but the set back hasn't been that rough. We moved from a 2400 sq foot house on a tiny lot, to a tiny house on 23 acres with a huge pond! Life is good. Bonus points: We have made more friends here, in the four years we've been here, than we did when we lived in a neighborhood full of people for fifteen years.
I appreciate your price breakdown. I dont think most people (including myself) know how expensive setting up and basics can cost. Unfortunately, there are also lots of hidden cost that probably the average person doesn’t think of. The caulking is extremely important. Thank you for being so real because it does cost at least just as much as getting the tiny home itself not to mention a place or land to keep your beautiful home.

Amazing. I think you touch on some very key points, which is buying the Incredi-box (2 in your case) is only half the battle..lol. There's no one way to go about it obviously, but between primer/paint, weatherization finishing touches, furnishings, light fixtures, small appliances, washer/dryer, custom steps, patio/deck, outdoor firepits, grills, gardening supplies, new hobby "toys" & so on & it's easily well over $5k-10k. Not all the aforementioned will apply of course to everybody, but maintaining the home up to "spec" just as if you bought a home anywhere else is akin to healthy pride & self-respect. I love your your videos. They are thoughtful and very thorough. It is the reality of setting up a home and the costs involved....never as simple and chesp as we would like...lol. I know you will enjoy both of your properties. Can't wsit to see the end results.😊
I am curious about how you will hang shelves and the pot holder on your tiny house. Also wondering how you will cool and heat your tinys. Do you need an air ex-changer? Is condensation a problem? The underside of your tiny is plywood? Should it be painted or covered in some way? It looks so vulnerable to rot, bugs and critters. Also, I'm wondering how much it would cost to have steps built for the front door.
You're doing a great job. Your tiny homes look great. I live in central Florida and considering looking for land in North Florida. I enjoy your videos, they make me smile. Keep up the good work. God bless ❤.
I enjoy your videos and appreciate seeing all of the price breakdowns and hearing about the reality of getting a DIY home to finish off. It's awesome that you are handy in the way that you are able to do it yourself and do such a great job. Me, not so much. I'd have to hire someone to do just about everything. I figure I'd have to get ITH's "Mack Daddy" version and additionally pay ITH or someone to hook up everything once it was placed on a lot. That would definitely raise the price of the finished product for me.
Wow! You have come a long way Rob! Congratulations on near completion of your homes! All your hard work and planning has really paid off. Come see us in Carolina.😊.
Being beneath a pole barn gives you outside porch coverage area whereas you might consider additional tall storage compartments as well as a picnic table or collapsible table for dining, cook prep area, card playing, puzzle making, etc. 🌻
You are totally correct and these last two months I have been dealing with getting both homes be and livable. However, when I return to the Florida home in mid-August I might deal with a more permanent solution other than pine straw as ground cover. Good points and I could cook underneath the pole barn. Thanks for watching.
Curious why 2) homes. Aren't you worried about leaving one vacant? I'm sure you'll get tired of traveling back & forth soon enough, where do you think you'll lay your hat then?
@@streetsmartintelligent Good points and once I get both homes livable and "up and running" and I am there now....I plan to leave in the Florida during two seasons - the fall when the FSU women's soccer team is in session and at home and in the spring when the FSU softball team is at home. I actually attend their games and lead cheers for the crowds. Call me crazy but that is why.
I think I would hang a lite from the ceiling or wall to have more floor space. Maybe a shoe rack where the lamp stands now. I subscribed to your channel when u first started it! . maybe a small stoolunder the counter where your cooker is now. Good luck. It will be nice having 2 places to visit.
With the grey water, what about keeping rats, mice and other vermin from crawling up the grey water hose? We are RV'ers and we keep our tank blades closed and dump at 2/3rds full or more to prevent that. In our home in Las Vegas, even with regular plumbing, a baby rat was able to get into one of our toilets from the sewer, let alone an open hose. A fitting on the end of the hose might clog. We were contemplating the Incred-I-Box, but the inability to add a grey tank made that a no-go.

Hi. Just letting you know I've just watched from southern South Australia. Love your little house. Question, will you put a barn door or similar across the bathroom? 😀
Thanks for watching all the way from Australia. I have been asked that questions before about installing a barn door or a curtain. There is not enough wall space to do a barn door. However, I might consider a curtain to close and provide some privacy.
I would like to see how big your freezer is and also I noticed under your tiny home that your plywood flooring is just exposed....do you plan on insulating or covering the bare wood?
Okay and I will show it. As of now, I have not decided to skirt my tiny home in north Florida yet due running out of funds. However, ITH is making a very kind offer to skirt my tiny home and others for about $300 which seems quite fair and reasonable. Thanks for watching.
Great Job, just curious why you bought two tiny homes located in two different cites? Winter and summer homes? Thanks for price break downs, once done it will be cost affective to heat and cool a small space forsure allowing you to live comfortably in both locations
Remember, that I am blessed as my tiny home here in North Florida is under a pole barn and stays dry. Thanks for the suggestion might consider for my second home in The Grove.
Were you aware got the windows would not be caulked? It would never have occurred to me that that would be part of the DIY. Your colors are really pretty.
@@VanLifeStorytelling this would be an extremely important thing to point out to new buyers. Although I could swear Randy mentioned in previous video they had water coming in thru windows in earlier version of Incred-i-box but they corrected problem. They either need to improve their customer communication regarding window caulking or they need to improve their quality control.
Did you put the house under the roof for extraprotion? And did you anker the home? I'm sure you did and had to.💖 I'm enjoying you venture with both homes🎉🎊 I have the same refrigerator, perfect size for 1 person.
Thanks and putting it under the pole barn keeps it cooler than being in the direct sunlight all day. I need to anchor it and will when I return in mid-August
Great job! The place looks so cozy and comfy! Good luck with the rest of your project. I bet you're eager to move in. There are lots of neat things to do and see in FL, and lots of great food to eat! ❤ Tip: consider the plastic, cling-on, window film, for your door windows. They sell it at Lowes/Home Depot, and it comes in different styles. It's also really easy to apply. Just wipe the window with Windex & air dry, cut the product to size, apply, and press down. (We use the Frost design for our doors, and one that looks like stained glass for a small window on our stairs) They're inexpensive, still allow a soft light in, and can take the place of expensive blinds or curtains for privacy. Our friends live in a brownstone, and use them for all the bottom windows, facing the street, so they can have the drapes open for light, but still have privacy. 😉👍

I hear you and it has been a challenge traveling back and forth dealing with two tiny homes at the same time. However, I am finally feeling much better that I am getting close to livable in both. Thanks fore watching.
@@Swim136 I am sorry that you seem to think that I am not happy with the build job. I am not sure why. I have three twin mattresses in which one is in the tiny home in Florida and the other two are for the tiny home in TN. There is a sleeping loft in that home and have two beds.
Nice video Rob! That pickleball facility looks fantastic! Your tiny home looks super comfy. You’ve done a great job planning and executing your designs. A deck would be an extra bonus. Speaking from experience I now you’ll be spending many wonderful hours out there!
Hope to see you soon!❤️ Sylvia
Nice work on your Florida home.
Thanks and Happy Holidays!

REALLY APPRECIATE THIS VIDEO. You are answering my questions and doing details that I have been wondering about. Interior walls look amazing. Would love to know all about how to do that.

Thanks so very much for watching and it has been a journey and it feels so good to be able to take a shower and use the kitchen sink after my fourth visit there.

Great job! I'm very interested in getting a tiny home in Newport, TN Trying to learn as much as possible before I make that commitment. So thank you for all the posts, please keep them coming. 👍
Check out Randy is selling a RJO for $15,000. I like it better than this Incred box too. H e and Amanda posted video yesterday.
Great point to get a RJO for only $15,000

Do you pay for FL RV insurance for the Tiny Home once it’s park? Looking to buy RJO.

I love your your videos. They are thoughtful and very thorough. It is the reality of setting up a home and the costs involved....never as simple and chesp as we would like...lol. I know you will enjoy both of your properties. Can't wsit to see the end results.😊

Great information! You did a wonderful job! Looking forward to more footage!
Thanks for watching and my next video will be about mt tiny homer in The Grove.
Congratulations on your tiny homes!!
Thanks so very much.
I have a window unit from Wal-Mart at $175 and for TN home and the FL home has a mini split from ITH for $2,700
I really like your tiny house !!
Thanks so very much for watching and it is finally coming together.
Awesome job, coming along nicely 😊

It is very encouraging to see you are able to put the tiny home on land in Florida! That gives me hope!!

Thanks for posting your progress and cost break down.

Nice work, and nice video. Looking forward to the next update.
I do appreciate your kind words and thanks for watching.
Most of the the workers here at ITH are available to assist Friday -Sunday and they can help out at a reasonable fee. Thanks for watching.
Wow! You have come a long way Rob! Congratulations on near completion of your homes! All your hard work and planning has really paid off. Come see us in Carolina.😊.

I was interested in the ITH that was in the 50k range. Great work man!
Well, they should have a floor plan to fit your needs and your budget. Call them.
Where do you plan on spending the most time? How are you dealing with heating and cooling them? Thank you
You can see the mini split in the background of this video, and that heats and cools the home.
Have a mini split to heat and cool and it will be more in Florida and TN for the summer and in the fall for the coloprs

Well done. Thank you for sharing the. Costs.

@VanLifeStorytelling life is short & the older we get the quicker time Flys it seems. So whatever - where ever makes you happy, you go for it.
That is very good suggestion and I hear you. Might need to put a mesh front around the opening or put a fence around. Thanks for watching
Enjoyed the update on your Florida tiny home.
Glad that you enjoyed it and best regards
This is so informative and so glad you are doing this, thanks, very helpful. Watching from Western NC
You are not far from Newport, TN where I am now

Great and are you living in Newport or outside the area? Good luck
@@VanLifeStorytelling I'm living in Golden Valley, Arizona! I got #65 of the first 100 so mine is a bit different than what you have. I really like the later versions because they worked some details out and offered more changes then were available when I got mine. I'm really glad you talked about the type of paint you are using. Did you have to do any caulking on the outside of your Incred-I-Box? Thanks!
@@carolesumler7986 Congratulations on #65 and from hot Arizona. I have not done any caulking on the outside yet. I have finished painting the outside of my home in The Grove as it is needed. However, the home under the pole barn I have not decided if I am going to paint the outside or not. If I do it will not be in August and September as too humid.
You're sharing some great stuff! You're doing an amazing job.

Interesting video. But why did you have to caulk and seal around the windows? Wouldn't that have been finished at the factory? Seems like a major defect. You're under a pole barn, but most folks will not be under cover. Any thoughts on that? Thanks.
You would think but ITH sells them as a DIY and some people may not caulk and paint. However, I had the time and energy to do so and it looks better

I thought they were already liveable???

Where did you put the three twin mattresses? Is that platform bed with storage underneath a king size? That would be two twins.
I have three twin mattresses beds - one in the tiny home in Florida, and two in the TN home -= one in the living room with the storage underneath and the other to go on the loft area over the living room area
@@VanLifeStorytelling Sorry for being nosey! Is the one in the loft for guests?

How did you find the place you keep it in Florida?
Are these going to be Airbnb's? Rentals?
not yet
Great Job, just curious why you bought two tiny homes located in two different cites? Winter and summer homes? Thanks for price break downs, once done it will be cost affective to heat and cool a small space forsure allowing you to live comfortably in both locations
I hope to have a video on that fact but one is summer home in TN
How can I get one of your houses? Small ssi pymts every month. Do you have a payment arrangement?😢
Need to contact Incredible Tiny Homes in Newport, TN.
Alot of rv-ers use the pvc for waste and sinks instead of the stinky slinky. I would do the same with one of Randy's tiny homes.
Great Job. I just subscribed.
Welcome and thanks
You may want to put some silicone between your roof and walls as other icredibox owners are experiencing water damage.
@@Swan-rb4yg One of my friends told me the same thing that ITH should have caulked around them and I think they did but not totally
@@mygypsyadventure3610 I don't have leaks through the windows yet
Did you put the house under the roof for extraprotion?
And did you anker the home? I'm sure you did and had to.💖
I'm enjoying you venture with both homes🎉🎊
I have the same refrigerator, perfect size for 1 person.
Tip: consider the plastic, cling-on, window film, for your door windows. 😉👍
You have some very good suggestions. However, when I was last in Florida I ordered some more blinds. Not as nice as the ones in my TN home but still covers the windows. Your favorable comments are greatly appreciated.
