Thanks for being there for someone in need of your advice and smile. So many farmers and ranchers are going through tough time, and just when things look like they are getting better, someone jerks the rug out from under them again. Like the old Farmer said when asked what he was going to do with the million dollars he had just won in the Lottery.. "I reckon I'll keep farming until it's gone".. That attitude is what makes a farmer successful. If not this year, then next year..

For the butter, I have found that if I leave it out I'm always eating it for a snack on bread. Never tried it on a cracker but that's about to change.
For the grill, it's really not dirty, that's flavoring on there.
For the rain, glad your getting some and when you said you have a tin roof, really took me back to a time when life was a little easier, I remember sleeping in late just because of hearing the rain on our tin roof or getting caught in the barn and waiting for the rain to stop. Thank you for taking time and letting us in your life.

I am one who leaves the butter in the fridge. I buy quite a bit of butter when on sale which I keep in the freezer until I need a few sticks which I then take out of the freezer and put it into the fridge. However I did find out, much to my surprise, that you do not have to put your butter in the fridge. That also goes for eggs. By the way I am not a farmer and I am retired man that came from the corporate world. I really enjoy your videos and see how hard, especially your husband, work every single day. He reminds me of my father who worked very hard all his life. I think more non farmers should be watching your videos so that they can get an idea and appreciation of the work, effort, and dedication that goes into farming. My last comment is that you have a fantastic family.

Butter always out, butter on almost everything with a few exceptions, salad being one. Butter on steak is fantastic. When growing up Granddad and Grandma had dairy cows so always had fresh butter in a bowl in the middle of the table, real milk, real cream, not much in life better then those. And to chime in on the BBQ need new burners, flame deflectors (if not using a full layer of briquettes) and briquettes. Thanks for the channel love all your v-logs. I grew up in rural central, Louisiana and we had, home made butter, eggs, fresh milk, vegetables, and a few other things brought to our house by Little Granmaw in either a model A or T Ford. She was the lady that raised my mother and her younger sister after their mother passed away. She lived on a farm, about a mile or two from us, and made the butter from fresh cow’s milk. The butter was in approximately one pound blocks and wrapped in wax paper. My mother would cut the butter into 4 squares and kept it in the refrigerator. The first thing she did in the morning was set one square of butter out on the table. By the time we ate breakfast it was soft enough to spread. She would put melted buttered on the bread, from a different square, to make our toast. It was put under the broiler in the gas stove to toast it. I would still spread more butter on it before I put jelly, jam, or preserves on my toast. The butter stayed out on the table until it was all gone. If she took out another square and there was some left after evening dinner it stayed on the table over night. I still make my toast the same way with store bought butter. I melt the butter in a skillet, lay the bread in the melter butter until only one side is covered, then toast it under the broiler. I use a counter top toaster oven and broil only the buttered side until golden brown. I find it better under a gas broiler, but the subdivision I live in does not have gas at all. I have not used a pop up toaster at home in decades.

Yes, we keep our butter out, makes it a lot easier to spread. But we also keep a tub in the fridge that we use for cooking

There are ceramic butter keepers that I think originated in Switzerland, that you put a little bit of water in the bottom of the container and pack he cylinder with butter. You can leave it out on the counter and It keeps it soft and fresh.

We leave our butter out all the time, but it has to be salted butter. Summers if it's too hot, it will go go in the fridge and taken out ahead if we know we will use it. Live up in CT.

Always leave my butter on kitchen counter. My vet told me to give my Dachund 1 teaspoon of butter a day. Best source of fat helps healthy coats and won't put on weight. Love your videos! God Bless your family and farm.
