“Ask for anything you want to be placed on this table.”
“Anything?”
“Yes, anything.”
“I’ll take two bowls of the same food I’ve been eating all my life.”
Seems legit
Idk man, those must be some pretty good beans for him to want them! Or so I think
I would have asked for a boyfriend since he didn't specify that it has to be food.
Boyfriend isn't food?
😂😂😂
This must be the craziest Hungarian folk tale that I heard so far...
Thats saying something
I agree...and i dont like it...🤔
Me either. It's very, very macabre and uncomfortable to watch...
This one’s actually great, y’all got it wrong. This poor dude has an unethical landlord exploiting him to the point that he can’t afford food, so he brings their entire system to a grinding halt and then allows the good people of Hungary to eat their fill after drowning the kings in beans. If only it were so easy!
Huh? You haven't seen "How I Passed My Childhood".
Well that’s one way of getting out of paying your rent...
Honestly I would have just discredited the landlord. Make him dance to exhaustion, then when he reports me pretend to be innocent. Eventually they'll declare the landlord a madman and thrown him in the insane asylum.
Yeah right 😂
Yep!
Well, he still had to work for it!
It is reference of Emperor Franz Joseph who was crowned as the Emperor Austrian Empire and King of the Kingdom of Hungary. That is the meaning behind of the two headed King ;)
The historical details in this episode are really nice: The mayor's office not only has the flag of Hungary outside, it also has the portrait of Franz Joseph, the emperor of Austria-Hungary inside. The soldiers are also wearing World War 1 austro-hungarian uniforms. The king has two heads because Austria-Hungary was a dual monarchy.
I also noticed it. By the way, which was the neighbouring country who sent their army?
@@ajayKumarajayKumar-hr7sj I don't know. Maybe it's Germany because of the frankfurts hanging out of their backpacks.
Ah, thank you! I was wondering about that!
@@ajayKumarajayKumar-hr7sj might be Russia, because after Napoleonic wars Austria, Prussia and Russia signed a treaty that they will not let any revolution happen + the tsars symbols is the big crown
@@vytizen That's interesting. Thanks for informing, friend.
I like how the soliders are Austro-Hungarian soldiers, and that the king is a two-headed Franz Joseph with the Austrian and Hungarian crown
I am Hungarian and for me the moral of the story is this: even if you are poor, one day it can happen to you that you get the power to decide and you have to use the power well. The poor man first uses the fiddle to pay back for injustice/bad treatment in a funny way but after that he invites everyone to the feast. There is also a saying in Hungary that goes like " He/she dances the way he/she is whistleing" meaning someone is acting by the rules of another person.
Thank you!
what an interesting wisdom
This is very interesting, thank you for the comment! I learned something new and from someone who is close to the context of the story nonetheless
they ate the kings?
yes
kings go great with beans
Obviously. The chunk of "bacon" in the can of baked beans isn't pig!
Bush's Baked Beans...IS PEOPLE!!!
EWWWWWW!!!!!!!!
And a nice chianti!
Kings taste like golden truffle.
Legend has it that the poor man felt everyone needed cardio after such a starchy meal and he became a musical fitness guru.
“So whoever we send he makes dance?”
“Yea-“
“Hmmmm...send more people”
“Brilliant”
Moral of the story: black magic solves everything XD
Exactly. Thats a referance to dance plague, a mass hysteria
White magic.
@@IzayoiArwena No, it's propaganda about the communist revolution in Hungary. The dance represents the lower classes fighting.
*SLAPS TOP OF TABLE* this boy fits many food
٠٠
That escalated very quickly
Very very quickly
You shall dance too
Imagine growing up and having your grandparents tell you that their old King died in beans
Is this an explanation of the dancing plague? If so: I LOVE IT
That's exactly what I thought!
First thing that came in my mind
Lol dancing plague started because some man didn’t want to pay his rent
Lol I was thinking the same thing that's a nice twist to that story
What is the dancing plague?
The fiddling music actually sounds good. Kaláka band did a good job!
the music in this video (as well as every other folk tale) is entirely hungarian folk music
"Eat the rich" has been brought to another level
Is that a 2 headed king
He has two heads, becouse he was the king of Hungary and the emper of Austria.
viki gubina oh
viki gubina thank you
@@gubinaviktoria6079 oh I see, I was wondering too :)
Most men has 2 heads
I like that the second king represent the Romanian Kingdom and its army.
The tale represents that we could live together in peace without nationalism
I like how in reality Romania crushed the bolshevik forces in Hungary.
I love how many subtle references to modern Hungarian history are in this tale.
Oh wow really? Can you please tell me about it?
The power of rock was known to our ancient ancestors. They only found rock more of a mystery than we do.
This story is actually was very funny and dark
A perfect mixture
He could simply ask the table for a house and money.. instead of making people dance till they 🤪
In the original they say that thе table could only produce food... Then again he probably could have opened a tavern to get money or something like that.
@@leeroyjenkins7325 It is a folktale. there is no "original version".
@@srkgergely I meant Hungarian voiceover
@@srkgergely It's not a folk tale, it's communist propaganda.
I'm confused about the moral of this story...
If you can't pay rent get a magic table and fiddle from some old guy in the woods.
I think it's about communism/revolution toppling Governments and its a propaganda story against monarchy (and pro-communism) - In particular, how the kings were eaten by the people and no one 'cared' about that happening.
Most hungarin folk tales Don T have one...xdd IT S about having a good Time with black magic
@BTIsaac I think it is very much a propaganda story because the 2 headed Emperor represents Austria-Hungary. The neighbouring king is possibly Kaiser of Germany. The fact that people weren't sorry to have eaten them in the story is a pretty big red flag that this is about overthrowing the monarchy.
Always order porridge and beans.
... no cared that the kings were gone. Well I don’t care but that’s a little... eh, it’s not the best way to die that’s for sure.
that was quite the morbid end
Now you shall dance too
*dancing noises*
A two-headed king! That was worth it.
He has two heads, becouse he was the king of Hungary and the emper of Austria.
viki gubina Like the double-headed eagle of the coat of arms of Austria-Hungary! Wow! This makes much sense. I simply enjoyed both the idea and association, giving more fantasy flavor to the tale. :D :D:D
Kings: *drowning in beans*
Townspeople: oh no!....... Anyways
One villager: hey! These beans kinda taste like humans... oh well
-eats more-
Whoever said two heads are better than one did not take into account a poor man and his violin.
Underrated comment
“The people standing next to the table were lucky, but the ones in the back could not reach the porridge pot. Then the people pushed the kings into the beans! No one felt sad that the kings had gone, but they all pushed forward to eat their fill.”
working class of america take note
Clearly this is a tale told by a bitter farmer who hated his landlord, the authorities and especially the King! Lol
This seems to be the inspiration for the video to "You're gonna go far kid" by the Offspring.
Really very good animation n designs n drawings and imagination
He didnt make the the animation
"Ask anything and the table will give you it"
"Anything?"
"Anything"
"is there neville chunks?"
*potter puppet pals: nevilles birthday*
Now that's Cannibalism Fit For A King 😉
But this was quite disturbing, in all seriousness.
fiddler on the roof is way wilder than i remembered
I'm so happy to find this. Wanted to show Hungarian folktales to an English boy I looked after, but I couldn't (didn't even think about to look) find an english version.
So if you need anything, you get it instantly from some random deity.
I WANT TO LIVE IN THE HUNGARIAN FOLK WORLD.
I laughed so hard when bald guy jumped back and hit his head on a picture frame 😂
That what you get for showing off! 😂😂
I love this folk tale, it just made me crake up laughing 😂
This is how the dancing plague got started, by some poor man who didn't want to pay his rent
Wow, this story just casually murdered two kings for seemingly no reason.
Music n voice over is also wonderdul
"Now *YOU* shall dance too!"
He knows how to throw a party 😂😂
*slaps table*
This big boy fit many porridge and beans brother.
4:36 I love how the queens reaction is in time with the music
Holy Angels!
Is this Dancing Epidemic Plague of 1518 reference?!
Thank you. I was unaware of this intriguing aliment
That might make a good plot point for an Assassin's Creed story.
So dance f-er dance, you never had a chance...
If only all the wars and revolutions could be resolved in such bloodless and even funny way...
Roses are red
Cactuses are prickly
Damn, that escalated quickly!
I love the dancing music very much... From the beginning 2:17
As strange as the rest of this folktale is, all I want to know is why does the first king have 2 heads?
Someone here in the comments said it's to represent the Austria-Hungary dual monarchy.
É simbólico. É o imperador Francisco José do Império Austro-Húngaro. Era dual.
This is my fav tale from this cartoon
this story is insane no moral lesson to get
"Eat the rich"
It's about communist propaganda.
What a way to go drowning in beans... love these tales! XD
English teachers "all stories have meaning" Hungarian folk tales:
Does anyone know what the name of the fiddling tune is?
I think it’s called “A Kapuban A Szekér”
The twist at the end of the Kings just drowning in beans 😂
I love how this looks like Ladas style put into animation, like straight from Švejk.
This proves Hungarians inspired "The fight between classes" 😂
"And they all had a splendid time indeed"
Me: Thats CANNIBALISM!
Omg! Is this about The Dancing Plague Of 1518?! °0°
No, it's about communist revolution in Hungary. The fiddle represents armed insurrection, the dance means fighting, the table is the means of production, and the king with two heads is the Austro-Hungarian dual monarchy.
what the heck... what's the moral of the story? don't work, make lots of kids and be greedy??
Tyler hahaha 🤣🤣🤣
It's a carricature about the communist revolution in Hungary.
This is the fairytale equivalent of getting a 10 Star Wanted Level in Grand Theft Auto
so you mean to tell me this man took down to kingdoms worth of highly trained soldiers with a wooden fiddle?
Magic wooden fiddle
So basicly innocent kings got killed and cannibalised and people were almoust killed by dancing plaugue for one land lord mistake
It reminds me of “Gelsomino of the Wonderful Voice” by Rodari.
I wish I had that fiddle and table...
Waiter! There's a dead king in me beans!!! Ewww I found another one!
3:10 "they pulled down their pants and danced a merry jig together." okay it's that kind of fiddle...
“put down their pens”
Y’all got a dirty mind!
I like this video❤❤😊😊
❤❤😊😊❤❤😊😊
Hold up. Wait.....what?
kings drowned in beans
it adds actra flavor✨
Dance landlord dance like you never had the chance
I wonder if this is tied to the dancing plague of 1518
Guys the king has two heads because of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, hence the iron crosses
Why does the king have to heads?
*like as soon as you become king to you just sprout two heads?*
I think it is a reference to the Austrian-Hungarian Empire.
One head had the Austrian archdukes crown and the another head had the Hungarian kings crown.
What a TWO FACED king am i right?🤣
And thus, the dancing plague.
Can you put the link to the music? Kérem
Moral of the story: terrorize those around you until you get your way and then feed then so they forgive you
This is something different❤
this guy like "NUH, I AIN'T PAYING RENT!"
Why do all these poor man stories start with them explaining that he has more children than holes in a sieve
Historical accuracy
I can't make a head or tail of it.😂😂😂. Silliest thing
Oh, our kings that have done us good for many years have drowned in beans!
*MIGHT ASWELL EAT 'EM, RIGHT?*
Let me take a bite of this chili....Yum, the meat is tender, it melts in the mouth...Ouch! A gold ring is stuck in my teeth!
The queen looks like the evil stepmother from Cinderella. XD
So that's how the dancing plague started
okay well the part about the kings drowning in the beans seemed very random to me
Hello, can I translate your episodes into spanish and post it on my channel? Giving the proper credit of course
Whoa whoa wait what! Lmao they just kept eating after the king's DIED IN THE BEANS!!? Savage
Bard level 10000000000000
Yesss
A poor man that knows how to play the fiddle without explanation
sure, *that's* the plothole in this story...
Holy shet the poor man create dancing plague
Wow...that escalated quickly.
Also is this how the dancing plaque happen?
It's about the communist revolution in Hungary.
I really feel like the man with the fiddle is really the villain of this story. There was no mention of a job, didn't pay his rent, over populated, then held thousands of people (who had jobs) hostage until he got what he thought he deserved. If that isn't bad enough, he killed 2 men and fed them to the rest of the people... I think there are multiple lessons to be learned: there are no shortcuts to being financially responsible, wear a condom, and power corrupts.
Does anyone know the name of the fiddle song that the poor man plays? I've been trying to find it but i can't
A kapuba a szekér
@@zalanemese you are a lifesaver. Thank you so much
@@lexiliuta589 You're welcome.
Man. Why can't tables like that exist on reality?
well, i thought he could be a musician and became a rich man
The 3:27 the house is shaking but is preety
This like the dancing plague all over again but no one dies
