One of the biggest problems with that season is the fact that almost everyone becomes ultra greedy. You don't think you are? How many years have you held the celebration and exchanged gifts with your family, all while knowing you have homeless or other less fortunate in your home area? How many pounds of food have yall prepared and not even think about sharing with a stranger who has less or nothing? No I'm not trying to get yall to out any works, but I am saying that a majority of ppl only think of themselves and close friends/family during that time of year. Lots of ppl like to play the part of "good will towards everyone" during Christmas, when in reality we should be living this phrase each and every day we are allowed to walk this earth. I absolutely can't stand it when ppl try to say our Lord was born on Dec 25. He absolutely WAS NOT. Even if He was, I doubt He would want any ties to this holiday due to how most ppl become extremely greedy. Also, if a person says they celebrate Dec 25 in the name of the Lord, is bound to be a hypocrite. How? We should be acting how He showed us every day, not just one season each year. Last, almost immediately after the gift openings, the dinners, the visits, etc. Most if not all those ppl, will go right back to their everyday selves and arguing with each other, fighting, you name it. Stop using the name of our Lord and Savior just to make yourselves feel like you aren't doing wrong when you actually are.
I praise Jesus, Our Lord and Savior everyday. I do not follow the pagan or worldly "christmas", even though His birth is not on the 25th that is when we celebrate HIM, I do not miss out on services that focus on HIM.❤❤
All correct. But that means you too. Just because you speak wisely biblically, it doesn't exclude yourself from what you are saying. We are all hypocrites here one way or another but the worst of us are people who call out sins like this and continue to do the same, whether out of cowardice, procrastination, or laziness. But yes, I'm happy that someone has taken the first steps to calling this out.
Amen it’s wonderful truly that is the message of Christ god humbling himself and taking the price for us and during this teaching us and then came back To give us eternal life Christ is truly righteous and holy amen 🙏 ❤❤❤❤
So, what about the millions of young men who died horrifying deaths, or maybe worse, survived and witnessed the dismemberment of their brothers, being scourged and nailed to a cross is pretty mild compared to what many men have endured
It’s not about Jesus it’s all mockery. Saturnalia, held in mid-December, is an ancient Roman pagan festival honoring the agricultural god Saturn. Because of when the holiday occurred-near the winter solstice-Saturnalia celebrations are the source of many of the traditions we now associate with Christmas, such as wreaths, candles, feasting and gift-giving. During Saturnalia, work and business came to a halt. Schools and courts of law closed, and the normal social patterns were suspended. People decorated their homes with wreaths and other greenery, and shed their traditional togas in favor of colorful clothes known as synthesis. Even enslaved people did not have to work during Saturnalia, but were allowed to participate in the festivities; in some cases, they sat at the head of the table while their masters served them. Instead of working, Romans spent Saturnalia gambling, singing, playing music, feasting, socializing and giving each other gifts. Wax taper candles called cerei were common gifts during Saturnalia, to signify light returning after the solstice. On the last day of Saturnalia celebrations, known as the Sigillaria, many Romans gave their friends and loved ones small terracotta figurines known as signillaria, which may have referred back to older celebrations involving human sacrifice. Saturnalia was by far the jolliest Roman holiday; the Roman poet Catullus famously described it as “the best of times.” So riotous were the festivities that the Roman author Pliny reportedly built a soundproof room so that he could work during the raucous celebrations. mock king was chosen: the Saturnalicius princeps, or “leader of Saturnalia,” sometimes also called the “Lord of Misrule.” Usually a lowlier member of the household, this figure was responsible for making mischief during the celebrations-insulting guests, wearing crazy clothing, chasing women and girls, etc

Christmas is all about Jeremiah 10 Jeremiah 10:1-6 KJV - Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.

You mean it’s not about the sun and its annual behavior every single year? It’s about some guy no one knows actually existed? I guess we should all continue to blindly follow. (Bleating sheep) Paul had a whole different idea. So does the universe. Love, Peace, Harmony. No need for doctrine or gods or anything existential. We all know how to love/hate. Preach one over the other. No religious competition, just love-peace-harmony. Is it so hard to understand? No religion, only love and compassion. Did Jesus not say something about what you do to the least of you, you do to me?
@deathoftheendless Not to mention, the first rule of Xmas is to lie to your children and to propagate that lie throughout society. Sounds Christian like.
Mike Winger has a video disproving all these myths. Saturnalia started on the 17th and ended two days before Christmas. They’re not related to each other, other than when Roman pagans converted, they stopped Saturnalia and brought some of their customs when celebrating Christmas. That’s like saying Thanksgiving is really celebrating Martinmas, which is a European autumn festival on November 11th which is similar and where they took some customs from
I agree. Sounds good. He who is greatest shall serve. He became poor, so that through his poverty you could be rich. Jesus would have been the slave and given his life for the king. You see the king. Was an earthly king who lived in luxury and ease. The slaves act would have saved the soul of the king.
