- (Abridged) Chief Bromden, a huge half-breed Indian, whom the authorities think is deaf and dumb, tells the story of a mental institution ruled by the formidable Big Nurse. Into this terrifying world comes R.P. McMurphy, a brawling, gambling man who wages total war on behalf of his intimidated fellow inmates. Ken Kesey's One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is both humorous and heroic, tragic and ultimately liberating.
The majority of these audiobooks, which were converted from audio cassette tapes into digital Mp3 files are over 30 years old. Some of the cassette tapes had to be taken apart and spliced back together, which can be a very delicate procedure. Just a little something I thought I would do so I could salvage these particular works and share these with others before the tapes and tape players deteriorated completely and before the world of analog recording becomes completely obsolete. Most are not true books because they are abridgements. When I first started collecting these audiobooks, unabridged books on tape were either very rare or extremely costly. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and visit. - Розваги
I love hearing books that have been made into movies! The narration was nice and the story so easy to follow.
I do too! Nice comment. Good story , narrator is very good.
This reading is the best I've ever listened to. I listened from start to finish, and what a journey. Better that the movie.
Excellent reading; pleasant voice.
Hey Dennis, you’ve got some great finds here with the books on tape. Thank you very much for posting.

Its like Moby Dick where the narrator isn’t the protagonist
Ken Kelsey published this in order to enable the bus Further to go on the Cool Aid electric Acid Test, counter culture movement straight from Harvard.
Hard-on was an ok dude. I never appreciated that about him til this very day.
Harding......
When dose the fishing trip happen in the book, is this the full book?
Ur error waz thinkin tht H’wood adheres 2 th author. 4 colour/interest, stuff’s put in….tht’s y must ppl say: “Th bk waz betta than th film.”
This is an abridged version, perhaps. Many of the older audiobooks are; the ones on cassette, such as this.
@michaelynedwards1043 this isn't the whole book.
I think "Listen for Pleasure" might be overselling it though..
Listen For Pleasure is a Canadian company that manufactured audiobooks.
This is not the full book
